@blahblah1939 I know. It was for the publicity but from what I saw they had great chemistry on the show. I believe Max was dating his future wife Peta at that time as well.
@@dianaparker4807 I mean it was so clearly a showmance though, him saying he wants to ravage her and have babies. Maks does not talk about any girl he’s into so overtly like this, I felt it was so blatantly a showmance that I’m surprised it got so many people drawn in thinking it was real
He was truly in love with her. He had passion for her that I think lacks with him and someone else.

@@nataliajimenez1870 I don't buy that it was just a showmance even if she was dating her now husband. Their flirting, closeness, playfulness or however you want to label it was much more than just for show. Infatuation, or a crush can happen even when dating or married to someone else. They were smitten & their physical touching was constant. If that was all for show, then they both should go into acting to win an Oscar.
@@nataliajimenez1870 I can understand the showmance on the dance floor, but it still continued after that before and after the dance, the judges, and the interviews After the show where it was not necessary. How do you explain that?

In hindsight, when Maks was talking about having kids with Meryl, he honestly sounded like he was reading from cue cards.
He was happy to know he was possibly going to win but I think those tears were for him missing PETA and wanting to share those moments with her but couldn't b/c they had been broken up at that point. Maks tell me??!

Melissa Delgado, have you never had an emotionally intense experience that had so many beautifully positive aspects that all you could do with all the feelings was to cry that it was over in the way you knew it? What they had went far beyond dancing and seemed beyond words. Their feelings, the pressure, their amazing skill level, work ethic, and connection not to mention the win...that's a LOT that can overwhelm a person even when it's positive!

because at that time he was already secretly dating PETA. They didn't want the world to know yet because it got screwed up before. But do your own checks like I did. He and Meryl had great work chemistry, and they worked well together, but they never really dated at all. that's why Peta became the shocker Fiancee. Their love life and relationship was being kept quiet by close friends and family the second time round.
@@booboodee2577 And because Meryl was already in a relationship with the man she just married 22 June 2019. They had been together since 2010, so were together when she did her season on DWTS. I'm sure she told Maks, and Maks truly loved Meryl, and vice versa, but platonically, like the very close brother and sister. It is such a precious thing when two otherwise-committed people find such a close friendship. The fact that Meryl was already with another Russian probably helped them all understand one another, and if you look at clips, you can always see Peta in the background, and it is clear she is absolutely in love with Maks and loving what Meryl is bringing out of him. Meryl and Peta became friends too, so they all knew :)

It was an unbelievable pairing ~ it was truly meant to be! they are perfect dancing partners in every sense of the word! PERFECT! There have been some good ones ~But this pairing was out of this world!
