    Thanks again Thomas and team.
    One word about the seats for tall people, remember they also have to let shorter people have their feet on the floor... wouldn't work (or hurt) if the seat base was longer (adjustable means extra cost/weight... hardly a priority for rear seats).

    A very detailed review, far better than most in the Uk, one thing i did want to see what the sound system, in the Uk it says the EX top of the range has a subwoofer, but it does not mention an amp etc, a little more detail on this would have been appreciated. Great work though.

    Hi Thomas. As always, a very good review. These reviews, as always, are the best detailed reviews - in any media format - for a car-nut like me. And interesting to compare this car, and its interior, with the New Tiguan interior, which - in my opinion only - is more premium; and drives just a little better. I think! (PS. congrats to all the team - sound, camera, edit etc!).

  • @miguel.bc11
    @miguel.bc11 9 лет назад +2

    I wouldn't go for the CR-V. The Mazda CX-5 has a better interior, better performance, better looks (for my taste) a better infotainment and a better quality materials. As you said the CR-V is kind of lazy but the CX-5 is more agile and nimble. Great review as always

    • @Cife86
      @Cife86 8 лет назад +1

      +Miguel Berghs yeah but CX-5 is a little bit smaller. I'd go with the CX-7 but it's not available in Germany. Kia Sorento doesn't have the right engine and transmission, Hyundai Santa Fe looks very outdated regarding the interior. And then there is Toyota RAV4 but not available as diesel with CVT and 4wd. At the moment, the CR-V is my favourite.

  • @gbriank1
    @gbriank1 9 лет назад +1

    I see many incremental improvements. Honda doesn't want to "offend" anyone with a drastic change. The navigation screen has real buttons, but the transmission shifter looks like something out of a video game. With Honda's mission to achieve the best performance with the highest fuel economy, the 5 and 6 speed automatic transmissions should be replaced with CVT or 9 speed automatics as soon as possible.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  9 лет назад

      +gbriank1 video game yes =)

    • @ast5515
      @ast5515 9 лет назад

      +gbriank1 This car is ONLY available with a CVT in the US. Also my biggest problem is the fact that the petrol engine it has is naturally aspirated.

    • @autogefuehl
      @autogefuehl  9 лет назад +1

      +ast5515 NA is usually good imho! And CVT is sometimes too? But not in this case ?

    • @ast5515
      @ast5515 9 лет назад

      ***** I'm Hungarian and prices here are kinda high, because we have 27% VAT + other taxes for BHP and weight, so the extra price of the diesel places this car out of my reach. And also, people here make half as much money as the western parts of Europe. This car is very much high end for the standards of this country. And reviewers who have driven the petrol version say it consumes at least 10 liters / 100 km if you wanna move at an acceptable pace, and it's really weak below 3000 RPM.

    Thank you for the review, Thomas und Autogefühl. I have to say that I cannot see anything charming from this car. The exterior is very strange and looks confused, especially the front. And the back looks to big from the profile as you said in the video. The interior is messy too, too many screens, the dashboard screen looks 10 years old, as we are able to see the pixles., this is ok with my Giuilietta QV for exemple, but not with a new Honda ;-). I find for exemple that Hyundai Tucson (although it's not perfect) or Mazda CX-5 are much more charming. Keep up with the awesome job, Thomas ;-)

    Car reviewing can be dangerous, no?
    My parents recently bought a 2011 CRV (one owner, low mileage, like new!) and they couldn't be happier.
    Question: why are the prices so much higher in Europe vs N. America (in general).
    You have so much more competition with the manufacturers I'm surprised at the high comparative prices.
    Tax policies??

    I drive a 2004 Honda Accord and it just won't break, no problems. And I still love the looks of it, doens't seem 13 years old (the model came out in 2003) in my opinion.
    When it starts to give us trouble, I would consider Honda again of course and since the Accord is not available anymore in Europe, the CR-V would be the obvious choice. But I too have to say it's quite ugly. Especially the exterior but also the interior. I'd love a Tucson outside and a CX5 inside with the dimension of the CR-V ;-)
    But, looks aren't everything, so maybe it would be the CR-V. But I hope that our Accord will do for 2 more years and that the new CR-V model will be prettier.

    I have this car. Same colour but with beige coloured leather seats. I agree with what Thomas says but I suspect the challenge for manufacturers of SUV's is not to produce a vehicle that looks identical to others or looks like a box on wheels. Thomas mentioned the electric seats and that he would have to reset the position after moving the seat back. Not really accurate as he would have been supplied with two keys. Each key is linked to the electric seat settings. Basically set the seat to your preferred setting and depending on which key you have the seat will move to your preferred setting when you approach the vehicle. My complaint about the interior is that the buttons beside the infotainment system are too small and that some of the information is displayed on 3 different displays. I would have liked to have seen him take the vehicle off-road. Other than that I'm quite pleased with the car.

    A lot of plastic on door covers from inside. The US version is much better built. If honda is going to dump plastic on european customers, it can as well shut down the whole biz over here.

    I know that looks are subjective but I find this an ugly car. The exterior seems to be a collection of angles and surfaces with no cohesive style other than perhaps Dali-esque. Along with the Civic, Hondas current design direction is quite bizarre and I was reminded last night while watching a program featuring the S2000, how good they once were. The interior of this CR-V looks cheap on the film and the excessive amount of shut lines and joins (presumably to allow manufacture of the complex shapes) contributes to that impression. Mazda successfully implemented a program of weight reduction in their designs and also came out with some cool looking designs - Honda needs to have a 'surface reduction' program to clean up their designs and come out with something simpler, cooler and better made in my opinion.

      +Monkey D. Luffy I am glad you like it, I love the Honda marque so it would be a shame if they alienated all buyers with their looks. Styling like this will always divide opinion I guess :o)

      haha yes. Thomas did mention it is the top selling suv in the whole EARTH. So maybe more people like it then hate it!?? lol

      +Monkey D. Luffy McDonald's is also the best selling hamburger on earth and Starbucks the best selling coffee...so what does this tell you about the esthetic judgments of most people?

      I agree...one of the ugliest vehicles since the Pontiac Aztek...a shame really because all Hondas now have really bizarre design language.

    I can only think that the Honda CRV is the most popular selling SUV world-wide because of the price.
    In terms of looks, it is suffering from some sort of allergic reaction, as it has come out in hives; ugly lumps and bumps all over the place and a mish-mash of badly designed lines. The coupé chrome look to the C-pillar area, combined with the roof and rear-end looks childishly clumsy. As though Homer Simpson designed it.
    The inside is no better. Cheap and tacky looking materials and the dashboard looks as though it was agreed upon by a committee of people with vastly differing concepts of what "style" really means (and all of them failing).
    A basic, new 2016, VW Tiguan runs rings around this wretched-looking vehicle.
    My hat is raised to you Thomas for managing to get through the review without laughing hysterically or just walking off in disgust.
    And, as always Thomas, very professionally done! (Thumbs up).

    Someone I know has this one. Still doesn't strike me as a looker, though it's good w/ features. I prefer the Touareg to this one though.

      question! Do CRV and Touareg cost the same in your country? Because back in Malaysia, the touareg costs 3 times more , so for you to compare it to a touareg, its absurd hahah
