Hah, greetings from Mario the Cat's human! Brief point of order: What I was actually playing was the Dragon Warrior Randomizer, which, uh, randomizes Dragon Warrior. In addition, it lets you pick from a bunch of different sprites for your hero (Which I'm guessing is what the "discoloration" mentioned in one comment is). Here, I'm playing as the Prince of Cannock from Dragon Warrior 2, who is widely known as the best* character in the series. Anyway, hope everyone enjoyed the clip, I certainly laughed at some of the other videos featured here! *The absolute worst. THEEEEE WORST.
Imagine not saving your game for like 1-2+ hours, your parents say "DINNER TIME!" and you say "just a minute, I need to reach a save point." Then you just lose all that progress because "FUCKING WASH YOUR HANDS AND TURN OFF THAT FUCKING GAME GOD DAMN IT" Learned to just turn off the TV and put a tiny piece of tape over the red LED on the SNES so it doesn't look like it's on.
It’s interesting how some runners (especially newer ones I guess) think speedrunning is a lot more restricted than it actually is, like here regarding the timer. Sure you might not want to keep going after getting distracted by your pet like that, but some of them (like Stealinbread at 5:00) legit thought the run was invalid because their timer got reset. Having a timer on screen is just convenience for the runner and the viewers, it shouldn’t be required for verification since the run can be retimed anyway
It also shows a large diffrence in some speedrunners. Like yeah pets do that why be so mad at it another practice run down at the worst and or just lost exact splits just start timing from there and fix later if you need to
I personally hate speedrunning without splits or without a timer, I once reset 7 hours into a run just because I accidentally resetted the timer lol (I still had ~an hour & a half to 3 hours to go but my run after that finished sub 7 hours lol) If I was ahead and a decent amount into the run I'd just continue but if I wasn't ahead then whatever I'll just do another run lo
@@justnobody5527 Speedrunning can be pretty high-stress sometimes. it doesn't surprise me at all that an unpredicted RL interruption would cause some people to lose their composure enough to kill the run. You get used to ways in which a game you race can mess you up, but not necessarily something messing up your setup or any other animal-caused circumstances shown in the vid.
Pet% would be unfair because if someone has a pet fish or hermit crab or axolotl or any other stationary pet, everyone with a cat/dog in their custody would have a harder time.
Me: "gives affection and food to pet" Also Me: time to play some games. "30 minutes later and you're already in a game and got a good start" Pets: its my time to shine. Literally everyday I give my cat 2 hrs of affection and yet she still wants more

Yeah thanks for not displaying animal abuse in this video. I’m really proud of all the runners in this video. They treat their pets with respect and they wouldn’t resort to “throwing” or “hitting” them. Makes me very happy. Lol. The last cat was an absolute fluff monster that I would def cuddle to death. 😻

@@LeviathanLP Depends on the cat. Mine will yell at the door over and over loudly enough that I'll usually just go open it but she doesn't escalate the situation beyond that, seems like being slightly distracted by the noise would be preferable to physical interference.
i know game streamers aren't generally known for good impulse control, but anyone who screams at a pet for that pet's normal affectionate behavior is not to be trusted
We've only had our cat for 4 months and I've already lost count of the amount of times she has shut off my Xbox or PC while I'm in the middle of something. I couldn't imagine being on a good pace run and just hearing the power down noise.

To be fair, Allinity is a speedrunner. She runs "Banned on Twitch%" But they keep saying all her runs are invalid. It's a real shame for her, honestly. She's a really good runner of that category
Thats why i never have pets in my room. My cat once decided to sit atop my mousepad and would not budge. She wasnt the friendliest kind at that time, so I got scratched trying to shoo her off. Never again.
This shows the power of people with animals and those who speed run, only a few sounded mad(all were semi annoyed) and even when the animal resets the run they just love on them because they know that the animal was just being animal.
Which other animal would be able to get to a keyboard at eye level? A dog wouldn't reach and most other pets wouldn't be allowed to run around the home anyway.
This kind of gives me the nerd who lives in his parents' basement vibe to be honest for some reason. I mean, no offense to the speed running community, but seeing them get so angry over something like this gives me a weird impression of speed running.
Other than the Karl clip which is super old everyone seemed mildly annoyed at best. Most of these people barely or have never raged on stream before, you’re only seeing one clip one time of them. Lumping us all in one basket doesn’t really make sense
As much as I enjoy this video, the attitude some of these people have towards their animals is pretty distasteful. only some of them though, most are good and funny :p

Most of these people were incredibly collected considering the amount of time that went to waste on some of them and the ones that weren’t didn’t direct their frustration at the pet. The last one? Oh, what an awful attitude: He’s getting mildly annoyed at an hour of his life almost going to waste and insults the cat in a language it doesn’t even understand. Then after he finishes the run, he picks it up and snuggles it lovingly, a language the cat definitely understands. What a bastard. Human are such foul creatures, dishonor on us, dishonor on our family, dishonor on our cow.
Here’s a fun bit of animal psychology. Cats want to do what you are doing, so set up a separate keyboard/controller for the cat. They’ll happily paw at their own keyboard and let you do your own thing. Not a sure thing but definitely helps
7 cats, 3 dogs, one of which was the entire challenge of the run. Hence why I personally prefer dogs. (No hate to cats, I have 4, I just like pets that listen to me)
The alinity honorable mention was not that much deserved on this list. I mean have you seen this player! she can't even break a hour before eating in mid stream and abusing her animals!
