- Major Progress! It was a busy weekend and a few days during the week!
So last weekend, I mocked up the steering column which then allowed me to install the brake booster. Once the booster was in I had my mechanic buddy Jim come over to help run the brake lines. I could probably have figured that part out by myself but I would rather have an actual mechanic do it... I'll bleed the brakes later.... sometime... future me problem...
Anyways... then made a brake pedal, installed the seats and got more progress done on the floor and such... like a siad a busy week.
So, next video will be installing the shock mounts and hopefully putting the wiring harness in....
Gotta keep moving... less than 3 weeks now....

It’s all coming together!
I don’t have a lot of time to finish …
Start looking cool like a Rat Rod.🇿🇦
Tight schedule to finish…
Ok, sorry, I am writing as I'm watching. 😮 Nice firewall plate😅👍
No worries!
Very clever, the back seats look great…nice job man!😅
Thanks! 👍
Looks fantastic! Great progress, you've very obviously worked many many hours. Been watching a number of builds for Ratstock, but yours is my favourite, I'll never look at Master Deluxe the same again.
I appreciate that! Thanks! Been A LOT of work
Keep up the good work, I know your timeline is drawing close. I wish I was loser to give you a hand!
Yeah it’s crunch time
A ton of progress this week - wow! I wish I had some expertise to offer you some useful advice but I don’t so I’ll just offer encouragement. It looks fantastic.
Thanks John
"LOOKIN' GREAT!"
Okay, ok, now I noticed one thing about the brake booster. You really should put a thicker steel plate on the inside of the firewall. I did that once, and the firewall ended up cracking and pushing out! There is almost always a time when you need to or have to "MASH" that brake pedal, and after time, it will fail and crack or split.
Besides my critique, ha, I'm thinkin' that she is going to be "AWESOME!"
I wish you all the best luck in the world with your build, my friend.
✌️😎👍
Coming down to the wire here
Making great progress. Good to have friends come over and help. Why is it that we seem to alway work alone most of the time? I just got home from helping a buddy align the doors on his 35 dodge pickup. They wouldn't even close but I got it done. 😊
Well right now I’m responding at midnight because I can only work nights and weekends on the car … tough to find help at midnight
The white car is a Chevy Corvair gasser. As for the brake pedal bracket it should extend between the firewall and dash.
Yeah …. Learned the hard way
I think the push-rod from pedal to master cylinder is too long. You can make one from 3/8 grade 8 bolt, 5 inch long, fine thread. Cut off the bolt head, round it off on the end, the threads should fit the heim joint on the pedal. I used the entire pedal assembly from a Jeep Cj, used the clutch pedal as the brake pedal. You’re doing good tho, don’t give up 👍
Never thought of that …. That’s a good solution

Thing is a beast!
If you want to use U-joints, they should not go anymore than 30 degree angle 👍
Definitely going to need one in the middle of
You're going to HATE driving that if you don't move that column towards you. You'll be hunched over and hurt after a time. That thing needs about 4"-6" maybe more! Nows the time to or it's gonna suck. Nice work, I like the rear seat but a little worried about those screws on the back poking people in the back. Keep up the good work.
6'5" I think you said was how tall you are.. might also want to chop those seat legs down to nothingness if at all possible. I'm 6'1" and it sucks in my stock 57 seat. I'm to tall.. I could only imagine your issues with things.
I sat in the car and front seat / steering wheel feel good
Screws in back are countersunk and not prominent at all
@@MarekMakes it looked as though, in the video, you were having to slump and reach for the steering wheel. On a trip it'll definitely make a huge difference.
66 67 corvair ???
Not sure if the year but yes a corvair
