I will tinker with anything. Sometimes it may be a woodworking project, the next day may be metal fabrication or working on a vintage auto or maybe doing a burnout in one. This is just for fun and I figured if I'm making these things I might as well share. Enjoy! Thanks for watching!
Rat Rod Truck Bumper and Bed Fabrication Continues on the 1946 Chevy Pickup
I took out the expanded sheet metal that was on the sides of the bed and those a different piece of metal. Look better I think... still not 100%... anyways... Also came up with 3 options for a bumper on the back...
Option 1 an old saw
Option 2 a live edge slab
Option 3 a rough sawn barn timber
Let me know what you think

Modifying the 1946 Chevy Truck RatRod - Lowering the Bedsides .... Ehhh....Maybe...
Просмотров 33919 часов назад
I got out to the garage today to do some work on the 1946 Chevy RatRod Truck. I had done a 3" chop a number of years ago, lowered the bed and all sorts of other stuff. I did not shorten the bed before because I wanted to put the radiator in the bed (see other videos on that). Anyways... because of that there was a big open gap between the bed and the ground. Looks goofy. This was my attempt at ...
Starting a NEW Project - Exocet Chassis Swap Part 1 !! Beginning the Teardown of the donor car

Welcome back! This is Part one of a new series of a Chassis Swap of a 1999 Mazda Miata to an Exomotive Exocet kit car!! This thing is totally different from the last chassis swap I did. I hope it is a lot easier! I am starting with a 1999 Mazda Miata NB, with a 1.8L and 5 speed Transmission. I found it on Craigslist for less than $2K. The Exocet is an awesome DIY Kit car. They have a bunch of o...
How NOT to do an Epoxy Inlay Table Top | Making a Maple Table with Industrial Metal Legs
Просмотров 70921 день назад
I built a custom table out of maple with a metal inlay and 2x3” tube for legs. It has an industrial feel to it. It involved a lot of welding and fabrication as well as woodworking. It really is fun to be able to create things like this. I am still a novice welder but it’s coming along. They might not always be perfect or pretty but I guarantee those legs will never come apart and I would bet th...
How to Run a Radiator in the Bed of a RatRod (At least how I did it).
Просмотров 774Месяц назад
I built this truck 4 years ago. At the time I did it on a budget and used a brass radiator from a 1959 Chevy Corvette because I got it for super cheap. The truck gets hot in traffic so I figured I would upgrade to a new aluminum radiator. This video is a tour of the build and a little bit of fabrication for the new radiator. Its been a little while - thanks for coming back! #ratrod #chevy #chev...

How I Built the 1946 Chevy Pickup Rat Rod
Просмотров 1,5 тыс.2 месяца назад
Wow I totally fell asleep last night when I was trying to post this video…. I had to go back here and totally re-write the description….. wow …. Anyways!! I Built this in back in 2020 and 2021. I taught myself by watching RUclips videos. I laid on the garage floor. No lift. Just a jack and jack stands. Cardboard to lay on. No bead roller. No skills. Just determination. I bought a welder and pla...

cool rat rod. great channel subscribing now
Thanks, I appreciate it!
great job on the stake pockets
Thanks … total amateur hour but I am willing to make mistakes to learn
@MarekMakes everyday is a school day - Gene windfield
Use the saw
Sounds like a winner
I like the saw wrap ends around
Seems unanimous
definitely
Option #1 saw blade - wrapped around if possible. Lookin’ good.
Seems to be popular!
bigtime
Saw! Sides on folded over.
Sounds like a winner
absolutely
You know the saw is the one. If bent, I'd keep handles for now. Can easily take them off.
🪚
I’m a jerk but I like it how it was. BUT if I gotta pick I like Khalouf’s plan. Sorry ❤
Handles are a point of contention with Jamie 🤷♂️
Sue votes saw and so did I. I say leave as is or if you can 90 degree bend the ends -- keep the wood handles either way!
Saw is the champion
Saw 100%! Maybe on a hinge so it can drag but not mess it it up🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️
That is a great idea!!!
Handles off leave a 1inch and bend don't cut the ends off that's my vote 👍
No to number 3 lol but I do like the saw 👍
Yeah that was my least favorite
The side pieces added bring it together nicely. As far as the bumper I vote for the saw. Maybe raise it a bit then cut out the top? Leave the handles. Just saying.
Yeah adding bed stakes filled it in … I like the saw too
Good construction
Thank you
You should do a wood inlay too show off your wood work skills
Thanks
The “bumper” being that low really draws the eye. I’d move it up to the midpoint of the expanded metal.shorten it a little and cap with a ball. Maybe paint the expanded metal black so it’s less noticeable. You don’t want it looking like a chicken coop.
Good suggestions… I’m not really sure where I’m going to go with it, but it definitely has to change
The idea is good how about a taper side panel from tire to tail gate.😊😊😊
I think I’m going to make some templates and see what I can come up with
It would look cool if you could roll the rear panel inward a couple inches instead of straight down. Just a thought. Cool truck
Thanks for the suggestion… I’m not sure what it will turn out like but I definitely need to do something else I think
Reckon the concept is on par...not liking the expanded sheet metal on the sides...Maybe make side panels solid to match the load Bin and create reverse air ducts to release under body heat nearby the Radiator or extended the side pipes and make them exit out the side panels , but loose the expanded sheet metal...At the rear its too boxy so how about making look like a rear diffuser style solid on the sides and in the Centre taper it like a flat octogen and expanded sheet metal in the centre for air ducting...On the lines of new supercar rear bumper diffusers...Just My Humblest Opinion. And give Daisy our love she such a cutey
Yeah that’s kinda what I was thinking… make the sides solid sheet metal with some bead rolling in there or something else
@@MarekMakes Yeah man some ducting or even extend the side pipes to exit from the panel and some beadrolling like flames or something suitable...The rear is looking just too boxy...
Hi Daisy! Bumper looks fine to me except I would just cut the excess of the ends. Maybe a couple of little lights in the expanded metal? JMO.
Thanks! At least I know ONE person watched to the end ..😜 I think shorter yes… maybe a different rectangular piece of tube? What about extending the bed stakes lower?
@MarekMakes extending the bed pockets would probably look better too. Make some patterns out of cardboard paint them a dark color and see what you think?
Yeah, I think I will work on that this week
Pretty dang awesome. Glad I found your channel. I was looking for something new to me to watch.
Thanks! Welcome aboard!
I’ll take the Cream CD 😂 Seriously, I hope you’re planning to give rides when that’s done. It looks like it’s going to be a blast.
It’s yours! It’s probably going to be the most fun rollerskate ever
Following!!!
Welcome!! Should be a fun build !!
I hope you are considering INSANE in the future!
Totally!! With the turbo added the power to weight ratio will be something like 6lbs/hp... for reference this is equal to a Porsche GT3 RS .... for 4% of the price....
Glad to see the mini-split on the wall.
Don’t need it this time of year but it’s a great addition.
🔥
👍🏼💪🏼
Well it was fun watching you take it apart. It looks like it will be a great little ride when your done.
Thanks - it will be a lot of fun in the end. It makes me smile whenever I drive it … going to be like an adult go kart !
It came out great 👍
Thank you! It was a struggle but the result was worth it
All’s well that ends well, right? It looks great! New break room table?
Yeah... it was a disaster until it wasn’t. 🤪
That looks great
Thanks!
Looks great! I wonder why the epoxy didn't set up. I've never done it, but it looks so easy on RUclips. Oh, and -12 F×&% that! I don't like the 20s and 30s we've been having
It’s the latest arctic blast polar vortex super duper weather thingy … I’m going to guess your host did not mix all of the 2 part epoxy and therefore it wouldn’t cure right
You always find a way to fix things though. ❤
I don’t like failing …
Oooff
yeah...that really hurt my feelings... will put a video out this weekend about the whole process..
😤😡😡
that put me in a bad mood for sure
“He told me it was from a Corvette”. Right… that’s what they all say 😂 Great video and great radiator solution. The Miata’s going to be a fun ride. Merry Christmas and Ho Ho Ho.
Haaa… well that’s the closest I will ever Come to owning a corvette… so I’m sticking with it
You are so full of good ideas! I'm thinking of adding a small radiator in place of the stock gas tank on my 55. Just a large heater core with an electric fan and hook up 5/8 hoses from the intake and water pump. Not sure but will probably install a small in-line pump.
Not a bad idea to just get rid of some extra heat - I believe the inlet / outlet on this thing was 1 3/4” or 2” and 50gpm but I’m certain you could find something much smaller for that application
Snow Angels! Merry Christmas.
😂❄️
That second pump is a good idea. I like that!
Definitely made a huge difference… now with the new radiator I think I’m good for the cooling system
Love the ferguson and tractor hood looks brilliant. Keep up the great work Marek👍🏻😊
Thanks 👍 The fan is reversible, so even though it is on the bottom of the radiator, it is pulling air from the top down
Hmmm...I dunno about this. I don't see any 2" plastic irrigation lines
Can you imagine if youtube was a thing when we started our shenanigans in the field back then...? How different things might be...
@MarekMakes Half of me regrets we never hired that videographer to follow us around. Half is super happy we didn't.
Nowadays could have just been a GoPro strapped to a helmet …

Nice real nice wood working😊😊😊
Thanks 👍
Working on a 47 Ford pickup right now myself, great video as always Sir! This is also my first build and we are inspired by the same builders. You can add yourself to that list for me, love the truck.
Thanks!!! Keep working on it! It’s so rewarding finishing the project
Glad to be an inspiration. That's why I make videos.
