Best thing I learned in High School was working the summer on the maintenance crew. They paired each teenager with a guy that knew what he was doing and we spent the summer fixing everything. Electrical, carpentry, tiling, plumbing, concrete, roofs...I have used that knowledge a lot over the years, and more so when my daughter bought an older house. I'm no tradesman, but I can fix a lot, and know when it's beyond my skill.
So true. I just bought a house and right away I find myself fixing a water leak on the water heater, a water leak under the bathroom sink, a roof leak, a gas leak, a wiring issue with the hallway 3way switch that turned out to supply power to a bedroom receptacle half hot also so that stopped working once i fixed the 3way so then I had to run power to the bedroom switch. Lol Also rain gutters not level and completely clogged and I still need to replace the washing machine water supply shut off valves because the leak too. Meanwhile I’m trying to make the house nicer by installed an actual ceiling light in all the bedrooms instead of the half hots. So much more I’m not even gonna mention. 😅 Totally worth it. 🤣
Lol hilarious! I'm a graduate of RUclips college too! As a single mother of boys I can patch a wall, hang a ceiling fan, rescreen and make screens as well as tell my kids what's wrong with their cars. RUclips college rocks! Lol
Yep! Does his wife know he's a "deeply closeted man?" Not gay.. he's deeply closeted... Norm Macdonald deserves credit for that. He calls himself a comedian...guess I'm Shane Gillis.
My Dad wanted a tool helper for his auto and appliance fixing projects. My little brothers weren't interested by I was. I got that job. My friends call me Minnie Macgyver because I have so many tools and gadgets for repairs. It never is boring to repair, decorate and sell someone's "outside the dumpster" furniture discard. It's fun when the person who left it there buys it from me at my Yard Sale later in the Summer.
When paying >2k/mo rent for a place the maintenance staff wouldn’t respond for a week, and would do the fastest cheapest job possible, you might as well be renting your home from an absentee landlord. ORRRR pay less and do the repairs correctly yourself. Hard call. Amazing what you can fix when you aren’t paying facility managers to sit on their thumbs and respond to emails once a week.
no, no, no, but thumb up! 😄 To me, home ownership isn't a nightmare in any way. How can the absence of stress in the form of a mortgage be a nightmare? Neighbors are another story. I was in my home when I heard a sentence like this more than once from a neighbor: "Get the f*** out of my property!"
There are WOMEN who are attracted & turned on to men who can "fix things". There are MEN are attracted and turned on to women who can "cook well". when men "fix things" all day, every day & women "cook well" all day, everyday; it is a partnership that commands mutual respect.
You mean "these MEN". They work because they are totally dependent on the others role. Meanwhile, other couples had to live by themselves independently & had parents that thought them how to fix/repair, maintain & cook for themselves & homes. Dependant to dependant works. Independent to dependant works even better.
It is a partnership that commands mutual respect which involves appreciation. When you respect & appreciate another person, you want for the other what you want for yourself.
I'm a total do it yourselfer. I have tools filling the garage. I'm a woman. My brother, on the other hand, will call an electrician to change a light bulb!!
I personally love that the vast amount of homeowners are inept in basic problem solving. I make an additional $40k a year cash because no one in my community knows how to solder a resistor on a circuit board, how to replace a water heater/dishwasher/garbage disposal, or a basic Square D electrical panel. No one in my community knows how to replace a clutch/engine,tranny (not a sexually confused device - a freaking transmission)/. These people do not even know how to troubleshoot and replace a simple $0.15 vehicle fuse. No one in my community knows how to weld (stick, MIG, or TIG). No one knows how to use my 3-phase milling machine to make machine parts cheaper than they make them in China. No one knows how to even read a freaking tape measure. I love this new stupid society because you people pay me $100/hr to do basic and simple repairs that every human used to be capable of doing for themselves. I love American communism because you people pay me yo fix simple machines like appliances, vehicles, and household assets that you need to keep the illusion alive that your degrees make you smarter than me.
If a towel bar is pulled out, one end was probably not anchored to wood. With a strong 🧲 magnet you can find where the nearest wall stud by the nails that are already in it. It will probably entail cutting the towel bar with a hacksaw so you can have a shorter but more secure towel bar.

Sounds like you had a bad customer experience? My parents never taught me how to fix things, maybe yours did? I try diy anyway, but I'd rather work to earn money to pay someone else to do it. I overthink too much to try learn so many new things without a mentor/teacher.

Which class or program was that? Never heard it in school!
Not a class, just summer employment.
@@matttracy8682 oh, I see. Did they rip you off on pay, or actually pay you the same amount as other workers'?
I love that! I was fortunate to marry someone like you. It's wonderful.

I completely understand. We bought our house in August. Since then, we have found so many "bandaid" fixes that are starting to add up. 🤦♀️
@@ChrisJohnson-tn1mo Don't level the rain gutters, thou. They're supposed to be sloped to direct the water into downpipes =)
Unless you are RICH most people buy obvious fixer-uppers or hidden money pits.

This guy sucks. This is comedy?
If you are paying a mortgage, the bank owns the home and you are not a homeowner, yet
How would you know? Get back into your section 8 housing and shut your mouth.
After you pay the bank, the government owns your house.
@@bobfuhr4520 no, it's the local govt and HOA 🤣
I used to tell people I had a long term lease with an option to buy...

A comic that looks like Lenin.
Saw this Bozo on cnn I practically lmfao😂😂😂
This is easily the worst stand up I’ve ever seen. TRUMP 2024

Simply traditional men and women :)
Wicked Funny ! :) Looking forward to seeing more. :)
Omg this is the funniest!! He’s so right!!😂😂😂😂
I tried. But no wonder he’s venturing to other avenues. This is terrible.
This was kinda half baked. Forced comedy and laughs dont cut it.
This guy was way funnier on the CNN panel. The standup is soooooo boring. I stopped it after 2 mins.

Very funny, Pete!

Thanks for your feedback. Would you be interested in voting early on the comedy we show, so only the funniest content ever makes it to our channel?
What a garbage comedy set, dude should never make political commentary, but woops he already did for some idiotic reason...
That was actually really funny!
He’s like an unfunny version of Ed Bassmaster
Material's alright, however he's a 'B' movie actor; voice needs work + overall delivery.

I don't doubt the parts that you make on your milling machine are also 100 percent better than any part made in China.
