Satyricon is one of my all-time favorite bands. I'm glad to see how Frost looks as he has matured as an artist and still has all the integrity. It's a pleasure to listen to him.

Great interview. One of the most intense drummer I've witnessed live. I talked with him on the Rebel Extravaganza tour and he wasn't as comfortable and articulate as he is now.
I met Frost and Satyr first time I went to Hole in the Sky....couple of humble guys and very nice to see them performing Volcano and their background classics!!!!!
A drummer like Frost brings a force of nature in any project.. I liked the gap from oldschool bm to the more Matrix new age bm, moongfog prodays, and Satyricon held that tattoo fo sue. Rebel extravaganza was a volcano, thorns and dhg and stuff aswell. I ofc like the oldschool bm aswell, grew up with that, but im more gopro music made in our timeline like the oldschool stuff was aswell. But damn good interview sir 🫡

I don't mind when bands change their sound as long as their new sound stays within the wheelhouse of what I enjoy.

Even tho I've listened to Satryicon since Shadowthrone came out, Rebel Extravaganza is my favourite Satyricon album. It wasn't like that when it came out but it has reached that position during the years. It's so vile, ugly, relentless, clinical - even annoying. Volcano also has magnificent moments but everything after that is not my cup of tee.
Yeah that one is special. They sort of rebooted their music with industrial/space themes instead of medieval which works great. I actually like Now Diabolical more than Volcano although its a close one theyre pretty simular albums imo.
Agreed, i think personally this was their peak aggresive album. Clinical, cold, mechanical and razor sharp. This album made them sound dangerous. A rare quality in pure music terms, that by the actual construction of sounds conveys the element of savagery and imminent danger. Don't care what anyone says otherwise! "Filthgrinder" was one of maybe the first 15 songs i had heard in my introduction to the genre and the onslaught of dissonance as soon as the blastbeats kick in was just something my brain couldn't compute in the moment but just kept coming back to it. As a side note, the fact this album predates Mayhem's "Grand Declaration..." speaks volumes, they had a way of making the album sound super modern and crisp yet still retaining the rawness, something that "Grand..." couldn't accomplish even after the remastered version that admittedly sounds more engaging. 10/10 Satyricon!💪
