For Australian visa purposes, the Department will accept IELTS test results that include OSR, with the exception of applications for subclasses 476, 482, and 485, which need scores from a single sitting/attempt. The dept. of home affairs website says the "STSOL 482 to PR (186)" pathway is only available for 2 years, but the actual legislative instrument has no mention of this whatsoever - it actually says it'll be valid until 2032. I see literally every migration agency saying "this pathway will only be available until July 2024". Some actual definitive clarity here would be absolutely fantastic!! Thanks

Hi Chris, We have been invited for 491 visa and we applied on 16th October 2022 by paying visa application charges. Today we received pre invite for 190 visa. Shall we withdraw 491 and apply for 190? Will we loose visa application fees paid for 491? What would you advice 491(South australia) or 190( Victoria). Please help as we are confused.
Get the 190 nomination first from Victoria before withdrawing your 491. As soon as you receive the nomination, withdraw your 491 visa. Yes, you will lose the fee and have to pay another visa fee. 190 visa irrespective of the state that issues it is better than 491 cos while the former is permanent residence, the latter is a temporary work visa. So 190 trumps 491
