So that confirms that Atreus is indeed Loki... Because on the actual Norse Mythology, Jörmungandr is the second son of Loki, with the giantess Angrboda... Also, when Atreus discovers he is a god, he asks Kratos if he can become an animal... Which is one of Loki's abilities, shape shifting
You know, when I heard Atreus ask those questions, all I could think of is that scene from one Bugs Bunny cartoon: "Mmm, you might, Rabbit, you might." ruclips.net/video/LSNTjX_g9a4/видео.html
Nickholas Gomez Time traveling snake. Mimir said it in the video. Kratos is the father of Atreus, many years later Atreus had Jormundundr, who then fought Thor so hard he traveled back in time BEFORE he was born. To the current timeline in the game.
If you take a better look behind the curtain where Kratos saw Atreus with his head on his lap, you can see Atreus leaving in the company of three wolves. They're not trying to go for fidelity to the original norse myth, but create their own take on it. Also, it's kind of hard to do that in a game in which the main character (an original character) goes and is directly responsible for the death of every single character in the pantheon lol. At any rate, I think they're building something really special here, from a narrative perspective, so I couldn't care less about baldur not being the embodiment of grace and kindness, or Frigga and Freya being the same person. In this context they are giving enough hints for us to piece together what goes on in the future, but for someone who thougt was just clickbaited into this video, I can definitely say that it's a solid possibility that Jormungandr recognizes Atreus because it is actually his son. Add in the little conversation Atreus has with Kratos about wanting to turn into animals, and we can take a lot of these "teases" as leading up to him being Loki, the so-called God of Mischief and force behind Ragnarok (in this game's verse anyway)
Loki is in some sources the son of Fárbauti and Laufey in mythology. Here is completely different. I think you're completely right. They're trying to tell their own story using the mythology. I mean there's a Greek God in there, how is that part of the mythology haha and people believe that nope. It's taken exactly how it was - that Loki has to be the serpents father even though that makes 0 sense.
Much like Marvel did with norse mythology, tthey are creating their own source. A completely fictional one at that, of course. Cory Barlog himself said that he finds the concept of all mythologies existing in the same world except divided by geography a fascinating one, and it's what they're going for here. In fact, the original plan, in David Jaffe's head (original director for the 1st GOW) was to have the third game already introduce Egyptian and Norse gods and have a whole clusterfuck of myths going on with Kratos going through everything. This game follows on that cue presenting a much wider scope of continuity. Regarding Loki's parents, race and origins, considering that sources vary a lot, at this point there's no real reason to argue about which version of Loki Atreus is and what will happen in the future. We can only wait. The same goes for Lokis' "sons" Fenrir, Sleipnir, Jormungandr and whatever... With the way this game cleverly shifts things here and there, they might end up not even being his offspring, but creatures that will fight with him or that he'll take in or something... This video showcases, more like teases, the serpent and the boy will meet in the future, but it's not really proof that it'll be exactly like father and son. Ragnarok, however, is a given. This entire game is just build-up and foreshadowing of the sequel and the director admitted to that as well. Anyways, I'm just pumped to see how this story unfolds, because, as a long-time God of War fan and admirer of Mythology and pop-culture surrounding it, I couldn't be happier with how this series turned out, from a narrative perspective.
Bruno Cordon there is alot of hints for instance loki loves wolves and atreus also is fond to wolves, ans loki can fly and atreus asked his father that maybe he can fly, he controles magic very well just like loki in the comics and showes a high level of intelligence, and he asked if he can turn in to an animal so yeah theres alot of evidence that the kid is in fact loki
Kind of reminds me of another lizard with wings who got banished Back In Time by three Nords I think one of his nicknames was the world eater he's a big scary black dragon with big red eyes
From 2022 after playing God of War 5: Atreus did "create" Yormungandr by putting a giant's soul into the body of a snake who lost its own. Then this snake with giant's soul grew fast into a giant snake. He then joined the battle of Ragnarak and fought Thor. Like Mimir said, the big clash during the battle sent him back in time to soooooo long ago. He lived in the past thereafter and became the World Serpent that people know of.
And if the serpent was really sent back in time wouldn’t that mean in the future there were two world serpents? One old one that’s sent back through time and one young one that’s being born (or whatever)
Could be both, though we don’t know when, and IF this world serpent dies. Ragnarök is not that far now, not enough to have Atreus raise a snake that could face Odin in combat. Well that could have 2 explanations: 1) World serpent is born and raised by Loki as Ragnarök goes on, then the adult World Serpent fights odin, and sends his young self back in time, not himself personally 2) It... it theoretically could be the same one, traveling through time constantly, now you’d say it doesn’t make sense since then where would he come from. Just look up the infinite hotel paradox. It means that the snake doesn’t really have to have a beginning since he always comes back in time... and he always did.
i think it's multiple time lines cause in the serpents original timeline he was born and matured to an adult before ragnarok, since baldr's death triggers ragnarok I would assume that in this timeline it happens much sooner, I personally would like to see how they implement Loki' s 2 other kids.
Kratos in Greece: *traps the furies in a point in time they almost changed in his past* Jormungandr: *also travels through time* Kratos: "ain't no way boy. Ain't no fuckin way"
The future. Atreus: Dad I would like you to meet you grandson. Kratos:Of course boy. Where is he? Atreus: ya about that um let's go to that realm teleporter.... Kratos is and Atreus goes there. Kratos: BOY why are we here? Where is he?! Atreus:turn around. The serpent rises out of the water.... Kratos: *Dumbstruck* BOI IF YOU DONT...
I did massive amounts of research on this, and in the game yes it is heavily implied the serpent is Atreus's son from the future, he's the middle child of Loki(atreus) and giantess Angrboða, Loki is a shapeshifter (Atreus clearly doesn't know this ability yet) so anyone of his forms could resemble his offspring.
Goddamnit people, if a game uses a mythology it doesn't mean they use the real myth or follow exactly, they muat put they own twist. Hell even marvel put the twist that Laufey is a male.
I wish they stay true to the mythology on this one. A world size snake, a collosal wolf, and an undead queen as Kratos's grandchildren. AND a pair of giant wolves that eats the moon and sun as his great grandchildren. That would be fucking cool, man.
Loki is the son of Fárbauti and Laufey in the same mythology well in this game he is the son of a giant and a Greek God... Don't take the mythology to this game as if they made it completely the same. Isn't that f'ing obvious?
So basically in the future, Atreus’s wife gives birth to the world serpent, and during ragnarok he gets catapulted back to way before Atreus was born. Hence, the world serpent exists before Atreus had him
that shows how humble and simple he is in his heart. he doesn't make a fuss about his bravery unless he's already in a fight. and he thinks time travel is crazy both because he himself experienced it and also that despite being the god of war he never forgot he is also an old spartan general who thinks everything beyond human abilities is madness. he never lost his humanity, he just had to ignore it so he could cast his vengeance upon the gods.
That's interesting, I had this conversation when I was about to face a Valkyrie. Because of the loudness of the Realm Jump, you can't quite hear how powerful "That is MADNESS" sounds.
Inner Kratos: I had to kill the sisters of fate and then find a portal and that motherfucking snake time travels just by fighting too hard? Outer kratos: that is madness!
so this is saying that the world serpent already experienced ragnarok and was sent back to this time. i mean the serpent is the child of Loki(Atreus) so perhaps when ragnarok does come Atreus is already an adult and had children.
FistHound 00 I think the world serpent in game was most likely die on ragnarok by thor then loki will breed another snake named the same and when it was old enough he will fight thor sending him back in time repeating the cycle.
FistHound 00 at the end of the game mimir said killing baldor made it snow speeding up the time until ragnarok that would last for two summers and then ragnarok would happen
in Norse mythology, the death of Baldur signifies the beginning of Ragnarok, in which "Fimbulwinter" would begin (a 3-year long winter) when Baldur dies in the game his last word is "snow" which implies the beginning of Fimbulwinter. Remember when Kratos says "there are consequences to killing a god" this implies that they have changed the future timeline when they killed Baldur. so no he will not be an adult, he will just be 3 years older.
Here's the problem with time. It's fucked up yo. Someone messed with the timeline so I'm gonna go cross-eyed explaining this. At the end of the game, the Dwarves and Mimir say it's Fimblevinter, the winter to end all winters and after 3 years Ragnarok will start. According to this timeline it's not possible for Atreus to be Jormungandr's father because...well, one Atreus is still a kid and two the World Snake wouldn't grow that big in that time. HOWEVER, Mimir mentions Fimblevinter isn't meant to occur for about a hundred winters before they "changed" something, so in that time it's theoretically possible for the future Atreus that won't ever be to be *that* World Serpent's father, even without *this* Atreus being able to have a kid in that time. If ANY of that made sense, you're as crazy as me XD
Atreus was born recently and the serpent was around before time - in the mythology Loki is in some sources the son of Fárbauti and Laufey. Here he's the son of a Giant and a Greek God. This video is nonsense.
Tony Montana yes, he is the son of Laufey and Farbauti. Both of those names are used to describe Kratos and Faye in the paintings on the wall at the end of the game. Obviously a game series where a fictional character is inserted into a mythology he does not belong in will change things around to make sense within the story of the game. How is that so fucking hard to understand? I dont see anybody watching Thor movies and saying "well this isnt right...".
@@thesherlockhokage3046 It's obvious the serpent is Atreus' child, because the midgard serpent is the child of Loki in the original myths, after you find out Atreus is Loki then obviously that will be the case...
@@Voc_spooksauce First, I didn't expect a very fast reply on a comment from 2 years ago. Thank you. Second, it wasn't obvious for when it was demonstrated here. That is the whole point. The game wants it to be obvious at the end for people who know aboit the Norse Mythology. The game is using the mystery story telling scenario. And I get your point.
@@thesherlockhokage3046 Yeah i got notifications on, so it's easier that way, np tho. And yeah, the game does make Atreus' real name a hard secret to break, but after it is revealed we now know right away that if anyone who has any ties to Loki in the myths appear....it's gonna be interesting to say the least ((I wonder if we'll see Hela, did she already appear in this game? If she did, i forgot))
@@Voc_spooksauce Yes. It is great story telling. Sorry. I don't know almost anything about Norse Methology. ThT is what makes the game better to me in a way. If you are talking about Hela, the woman who appeared in the Thor movie and wanted to destroy the world, this is the only movie I watched about Thor, then I don't think she appeared. Except if she appeared in a way that we could barely notice🤔
alright so this is my guess about Loki's "children" in this game 1st: Atreus will give birth to the Serpent because thats what it looks like on the Mural at the end of the game. 2nd: Instead of Atreus giving birth to Fenrir, he will turn into a wolf becoming Fenrir himself whenever he wants. (its kind of foreshadowed by when he asks Kratos if he can turn into a wolf) 3rd: Sleipnir wont be born from Atreus, he will most likely already exist by the time we get to see Odin. And last but not least Hel. I think she will be an already established villain who will have nothing to do with Atreus/Loki. Something like in the Marvel Thor movie.
yeah man but I have the feeling that we wont get to see most of the gods in the next game because all of the main ones need character development and if the game is as long as this one then I dont see it happening. It would be something like God of War 3 where we went on god killing rampage. In other words Quantity vs Quality.
Interestingly, the color of his scales is white and there are red motifs on other parts of his body, and he also has a beard, yep, He is the grandson of kratos, Even has a deeper voice than him
All good but there is a part where mimir say that the great winter would come in 100 years . But kratos changed something and it is happening now , so intead of the classic mithology in with loki/athreus has childs that bring ragnarok and fights gods, we have another timeline. Totally different from original of mithology this story will show a new ragnarok im sure . So don't think too much about loki adult and his childs cause i think they will not appear in next gow
Boom. This makes so much sense now. It would seem the mural at the end would be indicative of the birthing of the serpent through "Atreus". This fits the mythos and the words of Mimir and the Serpents. Dang man. Layers. LAYERS DONKEY, LAYERS.
lol lol In Norse Mythology, the Midgard Serpent, Jormungandr, is the son of Loki (Atreus). With that in mind, can't you see the implication of Jormungandr saying Atreus looks familiar even though they've never met and the mention of time travel?
Are you stupid? Loki is also not the son of a Greek God in the mythology. So something is clearly amiss. and HE IS KRATOS' SON. This is really stupid.Loki is the son of Fárbauti and Laufey in mythology. Here is the Son of a giant and a Greek God Kratos. I don't think they LITERALLY did the mythology.
There’s two moments also that hint at Atreus’s age not telling it but giving you an idea, when you go into the serpents mouth and I don’t know the exact dialogue but he says something about when he use to be young, but he is young, but also when Atreus asked Freya when she last saw Baldur before you fight baldur. She said long ago, before you were born. Now I don’t know the exact significance of those lines, but the way she said it made it seem you are suppose to know something that they aren’t telling you, I could be far fetching but when I get a video together it will probably make sense
So in another timeline where Jormugandr get "punched", there were no kratos or atreus at that time? Not sure I understand how this game timeline/alternate universe works.
Domenick boucher you mean his father Loki was there not kratos cause kratos died by Thor's hand/hammer. it's easy to understand. Loki grows up becomes his dad kratos died so the serpent never met kratos so he never looked familiar like Atreus did(cause he is his dad) so only Loki existed in the future for him to know as his dad not kratos cause he was dead.
Domenick boucher well the serpent is a prime example. he remembers Atreus cause he is his father but not kratos so it is highly Likely that he is dead in the future and will not return as hel here is different than the one he knows he was able to leave because he was still alive but the souls in hell have no physical body and the image on the wall shows kratos dead in Atreus arms when he is still a child with Thor's hammer in his head. so it is highly likely that kratos will die and I know someone will say fate isn't set kratos proved that and Ragnarok did not count on kratos minor said that but his wife who was a giant even the guardian of them knew the story to the end and even kratos knows he is going to die as he saw the wall. plus he says in the game that Faye can be unwritten but he has been wrong the whole game. he said that the serpent was not the size of mustard but Freya proved him wrong he said the timetravel with the snake was impossible but there the serpent is. and the end credit scene shows Thor at their house so it's clear kratos will die fighting Thor to protect his son and stay dead in this realm and Atreus will take up his giant name of Loki and start the tale of Ragnarok just like in Norse mythology and maybe bring his father back at the end of it and go to Egypt to handle the gods as the director has said that they want. trilogy in Norse and one in Egyptian.
If Atreus is the father of the world serpent from the future... Atreus must've called him *BOI* too many times, that made him think that the young Atreus looks familiar to him. 😂
I hope they find it to be true in the next game although we just low key had 3 generations of Kratos bloodline all great warriors bent on killing gods 😂
That is madness, said the one that fought on the giant sword he was about to use in the past to kill Ares, and after that travelled back to the titanomachy to bring the titans to the present and destroy the Olympus. Yeah, pure madness.
First off spoiler warning ⚠⚠⚠ The world serpent is referring to the last boss fight in the story against baulder (sorry is I spelt tat wrong) when Freya uses the dead giants frost breath attack atreus calls for the world serpants help, and he responds by killing the giant again
This is the part that really confuses me, The tales say Thor does Kill The World Serpent during Ragnarök and dies nine steps after. Mimir also confirms this for us in a tale of his Yet the World Serpent is also sent BACK in time? Before or After he dies? That's the part the confuses me.
Odin messed up the time line and events. Mimir states in several stories, Odin feared Ragnarok to the point where he delved into Time Magic so as to change the outcome, and possibly Odins own death.
My guess is that Atreus goes on to have his children, and when Ragnarök happens, the Jormungandr we see in the game is the one that fights Thor and both die, but ends up rocking the Yggdrasil so bad it sends all three of Atreus's "young" children back, and people mistake the World Serpent sent back for the older one, and it becomes a self feeding cycle. Hold on, could this "cycle" be the true cause of the Giants' gift of prophecy? Because some part of them already lived it?! And that's why things are different now, because in each cycle they're trying to get it right, and this might be the one?!?!
Calling the Serpent his Son is just perspective. I take the "Painting" on the wall shows the Serpent leaving Atreus mouths as a form of releasing internal energy and shaping it into an diety. His inner beast.
Can't wait to hear Atreus spam the word 'boy' to his serpent son

Anyways, I'm just pumped to see how this story unfolds, because, as a long-time God of War fan and admirer of Mythology and pop-culture surrounding it, I couldn't be happier with how this series turned out, from a narrative perspective.
wasn't one of Loki's Children also a wolf?
Red Devil That would be Fenrir
Bruno Cordon there is alot of hints for instance loki loves wolves and atreus also is fond to wolves, ans loki can fly and atreus asked his father that maybe he can fly, he controles magic very well just like loki in the comics and showes a high level of intelligence, and he asked if he can turn in to an animal so yeah theres alot of evidence that the kid is in fact loki
a giant serpent travels through time? Yup, it's madness
Kind of reminds me of another lizard with wings who got banished Back In Time by three Nords I think one of his nicknames was the world eater he's a big scary black dragon with big red eyes
yes and was doomed to fight dovakin
EDPOOLL: VR umm.. red eyes black dragon?
_Atreus has god like creatures for children_
Kratos: *heavy breathing*
Time to pull an Anakin!
From 2022 after playing God of War 5:
Atreus did "create" Yormungandr by putting a giant's soul into the body of a snake who lost its own.
Issy The old one probably dies when the new one is born. Or I don't know. Sounds like a paradox.
Issy multiple time line theory
Issy it’s a paradox. I wouldn’t think too hard about it until the game fully explains it or else you’ll hurt your self thinking about it
Could be both, though we don’t know when, and IF this world serpent dies.
Ragnarök is not that far now, not enough to have Atreus raise a snake that could face Odin in combat.
Well that could have 2 explanations:
1) World serpent is born and raised by Loki as Ragnarök goes on, then the adult World Serpent fights odin, and sends his young self back in time, not himself personally
2) It... it theoretically could be the same one, traveling through time constantly, now you’d say it doesn’t make sense since then where would he come from.
Kratos in Greece: *traps the furies in a point in time they almost changed in his past*
Jormungandr: *also travels through time*
Kratos: "ain't no way boy. Ain't no fuckin way"
Kratos' grand *BOI*
Damn I can't wait for the sequel. There are so many possibilities the story can evolve.
Kratos: *goes back to save his own life*
*Someone travels to time*
Kratos: MADNESS I SAY
Well he didn't technically save his own life. Just pulled the blade of Olympus out of his own body
Memir: "that is madness"
Kratos: madness? "THIS IS SPARTA"
The thought of a tiny TINY serpent makes my mind incredibly happy, Just a tiny white snake, That over hundreds of years, Becomes the world serpent.
"that is madness"
-the guy who literally end a pantheon
Goddamnit people, if a game uses a mythology it doesn't mean they use the real myth or follow exactly, they muat put they own twist. Hell even marvel put the twist that Laufey is a male.
Syafeeq Said clearly havent beaten the game at the very end you get confirmation of this basically
Syafeeq Said well at least stay somewhat true to the mythology sheesh
Ok and, Loki is a male but is the mother of sleipnir
I wish they stay true to the mythology on this one. A world size snake, a collosal wolf, and an undead queen as Kratos's grandchildren. AND a pair of giant wolves that eats the moon and sun as his great grandchildren. That would be fucking cool, man.
If Atreus’s mom wanted him to be named Loki, and the Norse god Loki is the father of Jormungander 😱😱
Loki is the son of Fárbauti and Laufey in the same mythology well in this game he is the son of a giant and a Greek God... Don't take the mythology to this game as if they made it completely the same. Isn't that f'ing obvious?
Tony Montana maybe Faye is short for Laufey and as for the father. Fárbauti means cruel striker, which to me sounds like the vengeful Kratos
Also Laufey is a giant/Joten
** jötunn
Nathan Brassil Mimir already calls Atreus the “Son of Laufey the Just”
This is madness isn't that right Gaia
Jonathon Lilbourne
No this is Sparta!!
Lol😂
No, this is PATRICK!
Jonathon Lilbourne jord
No, THIS IS SURTUR
So basically in the future, Atreus’s wife gives birth to the world serpent, and during ragnarok he gets catapulted back to way before Atreus was born. Hence, the world serpent exists before Atreus had him
Can’t wait to see Kratos saying
“Boy of my boy”
I love how quick Kratos is to dismiss time travel.
"And then he traveled through ti-"
"B U L L S H I T"
He's just jealous he can't punch someone back in time
Kratos saying "That is madness" the same way we say "You're chatting shit"
I’ve never heard that expression
British person alert
So since Atreus gave a giant soul to a soulless snake body that automatically makes Atreus a father? IK the snake in Ragnarok was young but wow.
that shows how humble and simple he is in his heart. he doesn't make a fuss about his bravery unless he's already in a fight. and he thinks time travel is crazy both because he himself experienced it and also that despite being the god of war he never forgot he is also an old spartan general who thinks everything beyond human abilities is madness. he never lost his humanity, he just had to ignore it so he could cast his vengeance upon the gods.
he isn't his son, he just time traveled so he seemed familiar
That's interesting, I had this conversation when I was about to face a Valkyrie. Because of the loudness of the Realm Jump, you can't quite hear how powerful "That is MADNESS" sounds.
Kratos : "That is madness"
Also Kratos : "COME WITH ME GAIA. RETURN TO MY TIME!"
"That is madness." Madness, Kratos...? Did you forget where you came from?!?!
Lmaooo even Kratos was lyk “alright stop this bullshit”
FistHound 00 at the end of the game mimir said killing baldor made it snow speeding up the time until ragnarok that would last for two summers and then ragnarok would happen
in Norse mythology, the death of Baldur signifies the beginning of Ragnarok, in which "Fimbulwinter" would begin (a 3-year long winter)
when Baldur dies in the game his last word is "snow" which implies the beginning of Fimbulwinter. Remember when Kratos says "there are consequences to killing a god" this implies that they have changed the future timeline when they killed Baldur.
so no he will not be an adult, he will just be 3 years older.
by that time, Loki properly attained Godhood
Now everything is clear after ragnarok
Tony Montana Its a game that takes liberties regarding the myth. What is nonsense is your need for the game to be exactly the myth.
Tony Montana wait why is the video nonsense? It's a line from the game
Tony Montana faye is laufey it even stated in the game
Tony Montana yes, he is the son of Laufey and Farbauti. Both of those names are used to describe Kratos and Faye in the paintings on the wall at the end of the game. Obviously a game series where a fictional character is inserted into a mythology he does not belong in will change things around to make sense within the story of the game. How is that so fucking hard to understand? I dont see anybody watching Thor movies and saying "well this isnt right...".
Todds Bods Not only Loki and his children who causes Ragnarök, but also the Fire Giant who will be impossible to stop.
_"That is madness"_ When someone like Kratos even says that, you know it's unbelieveable.
I'm not going to lie, I had quite the hearty laugh when Kratos delivered the "That is madness" line here during my playthrough.
*SPOILER*
That's kinda obvious since we find out that Artreus is Loki some time after
How is it obvious if you found out AFTER?
And yeah, the game does make Atreus' real name a hard secret to break, but after it is revealed we now know right away that if anyone who has any ties to Loki in the myths appear....it's gonna be interesting to say the least
((I wonder if we'll see Hela, did she already appear in this game? If she did, i forgot))
@@Voc_spooksauce Yes. It is great story telling.
Sorry. I don't know almost anything about Norse Methology. ThT is what makes the game better to me in a way.
If you are talking about Hela, the woman who appeared in the Thor movie and wanted to destroy the world, this is the only movie I watched about Thor, then I don't think she appeared. Except if she appeared in a way that we could barely notice🤔
I don't know what it is but the way kratos says "That is madness" cracks me up everytime
Who doesn't know that? It clearly says the world serpent is son of Loki along with Fenrir and Hel.
'That is Madness' - coming from someone who traveled back in time to recruit the titans to attack mt. olympus.
It's nice to see Kratos stating this as madness, yet he himself time traveled not only once (to fight Zeus) but twice (to bring the Titans)
alright so this is my guess about Loki's "children" in this game
1st: Atreus will give birth to the Serpent because thats what it looks like on the Mural at the end of the game.
2nd: Instead of Atreus giving birth to Fenrir, he will turn into a wolf becoming Fenrir himself whenever he wants. (its kind of foreshadowed by when he asks Kratos if he can turn into a wolf)
3rd: Sleipnir wont be born from Atreus, he will most likely already exist by the time we get to see Odin.
And last but not least Hel. I think she will be an already established villain who will have nothing to do with Atreus/Loki. Something like in the Marvel Thor movie.
Savage Jesus i cant wait to see Fenrir and Hel.....in the next 4 years
yeah man but I have the feeling that we wont get to see most of the gods in the next game because all of the main ones need character development and if the game is as long as this one then I dont see it happening. It would be something like God of War 3 where we went on god killing rampage. In other words Quantity vs Quality.
Wait what Atreus is giving birth??
The mural at the end of the game is Atreus holding a dead or dying kratos
yeah but it also looks like he is giving birth to the World Serpent
Explains why Thor wouldn't beat the world serpent lol
Since Atreus is actually Loki this would be correct because in Norse mythology Loki is the father of Jormungandr
Interestingly, the color of his scales is white and there are red motifs on other parts of his body, and he also has a beard, yep, He is the grandson of kratos, Even has a deeper voice than him
Does anyone remember kratos brother damos ?!!
Daniel Riley yeah the ded nigga that just got freed and died before even saying a nice word to kratos yeah i know
Daniel Riley yup
Deimos
Majestic furry damn I m sorry for misspelling that
Sean nt family tree
I got 1 question, WHO DID ATREUS FU#$
Big titti snake gf
Bacari the Gamer the wall where Kratos Dies implies that The Serpent is born from the Rage of Atreus
Everything/anything
All good but there is a part where mimir say that the great winter would come in 100 years . But kratos changed something and it is happening now , so intead of the classic mithology in with loki/athreus has childs that bring ragnarok and fights gods, we have another timeline. Totally different from original of mithology this story will show a new ragnarok im sure . So don't think too much about loki adult and his childs cause i think they will not appear in next gow
OgByTeam the final Moral that predicted everything shows something coming out of Atreus and Kratos seemingly dead
Highly doubt they will let that go
Boom. This makes so much sense now. It would seem the mural at the end would be indicative of the birthing of the serpent through "Atreus". This fits the mythos and the words of Mimir and the Serpents.
Dang man. Layers. LAYERS DONKEY, LAYERS.
I wish to see Loki's wife reaction seeing that she gave birth to a little snake, puppy and a half dead half beautiful girl
If Kratos had a dog: *_g o o d b o i_*
I love this game. I trust Cory and his team will deliver a damn good sequel
I wouldn’t call this proof, it’s proof that they may have met in the future, but not that Atreus is the father
“Madness? THIS. IS. SPARTA!!!!” *Time travels to when he’s in Sparta*
You would already know this if you know your Norse mythology and you finished the game
If you know norse mythology , you could have found out Atreus was Loki in the first scene we see him. The hints were all over the place.
@@edrick106 yeah they weren’t exactly subtle about it when they made a point to give Atreus mistletoe arrows
Wait so technically speaking Jörmungandr ate his dad an Grandpa and puked them out😂
Yeah that’s proof alright
Brandon Eulls It is :/
L I T T Y no it isnt
lol lol In Norse Mythology, the Midgard Serpent, Jormungandr, is the son of Loki (Atreus). With that in mind, can't you see the implication of Jormungandr saying Atreus looks familiar even though they've never met and the mention of time travel?
L I T T Y You don’t know what proof means
Are you stupid? Loki is also not the son of a Greek God in the mythology. So something is clearly amiss. and HE IS KRATOS' SON. This is really stupid.Loki is the son of Fárbauti and Laufey in mythology. Here is the Son of a giant and a Greek God Kratos. I don't think they LITERALLY did the mythology.
Atreus is a furry
if it got scale thats mean its scaly not furry
he's like Zeus, he fucked anything that breath
@@DarthMalgusSith_Lord with how this franchise has gone I don’t think that’s a connection we want to make lol
This didn't age well, did it?
There’s two moments also that hint at Atreus’s age not telling it but giving you an idea, when you go into the serpents mouth and I don’t know the exact dialogue but he says something about when he use to be young, but he is young, but also when Atreus asked Freya when she last saw Baldur before you fight baldur. She said long ago, before you were born. Now I don’t know the exact significance of those lines, but the way she said it made it seem you are suppose to know something that they aren’t telling you, I could be far fetching but when I get a video together it will probably make sense
i can't wait till we see Fenrir . He's my fave in norse mytholgy,
So in another timeline where Jormugandr get "punched", there were no kratos or atreus at that time? Not sure I understand how this game timeline/alternate universe works.
Maroon man kratos does by Thor and Atreus leads Ragnarok were the serpent fight Thor.
No, Jormungund got set back in time in HIS timeline. Krato's and boi were still there.
I HIGHLY doubt Krato's will be dead at that point, he may be killed by Thor but when has Death ever stopped Kratos?
Domenick boucher well the serpent is a prime example. he remembers Atreus cause he is his father but not kratos so it is highly Likely that he is dead in the future and will not return as hel here is different than the one he knows he was able to leave because he was still alive but the souls in hell have no physical body and the image on the wall shows kratos dead in Atreus arms when he is still a child with Thor's hammer in his head. so it is highly likely that kratos will die and I know someone will say fate isn't set kratos proved that and Ragnarok did not count on kratos minor said that but his wife who was a giant even the guardian of them knew the story to the end and even kratos knows he is going to die as he saw the wall. plus he says in the game that Faye can be unwritten but he has been wrong the whole game.
he said that the serpent was not the size of mustard but Freya proved him wrong
he said the timetravel with the snake was impossible but there the serpent is.
and the end credit scene shows Thor at their house so it's clear
kratos will die fighting Thor to protect his son and stay dead in this realm and Atreus will take up his giant name of Loki and start the tale of Ragnarok just like in Norse mythology and maybe bring his father back at the end of it and go to Egypt to handle the gods as the director has said that they want. trilogy in Norse and one in Egyptian.
so jormungadr does not speak a dead language, but an future language?
Maybe Atreus teach him the language of the Giants, cuz at the end he knows that
It’s a paradox loop. Jormungadr speaks it because of Atreus but learned it from jormungandr.
That's crazy, it makes you wonder how Kratos will fair against Thor should they ever clash, which they will.
If Atreus is the father of the world serpent from the future... Atreus must've called him *BOI* too many times, that made him think that the young Atreus looks familiar to him. 😂
The serpent is the offspring of Loki, learn about Norse mythology people
2 years late but atreus is loki.
I hope they find it to be true in the next game although we just low key had 3 generations of Kratos bloodline all great warriors bent on killing gods 😂
MrHeavyChevy
😂😂😂 or an alternate timeline where kratos and atreus joining the avengers
Golden1_1Dragon oh god no please not the avengers 😂
Madness? THIS IS SPARTA!
“ That is madness. “ as tree branches reach out to form a bridge for them to travel through a portal…
That is madness, said the one that fought on the giant sword he was about to use in the past to kill Ares, and after that travelled back to the titanomachy to bring the titans to the present and destroy the Olympus.
Yeah, pure madness.
First off spoiler warning ⚠⚠⚠
The world serpent is referring to the last boss fight in the story against baulder (sorry is I spelt tat wrong) when Freya uses the dead giants frost breath attack atreus calls for the world serpants help, and he responds by killing the giant again
Feel stupid now?
This is the part that really confuses me, The tales say Thor does Kill The World Serpent during Ragnarök and dies nine steps after. Mimir also confirms this for us in a tale of his Yet the World Serpent is also sent BACK in time? Before or After he dies? That's the part the confuses me.
@ATLee The Rock, excellent idea. But when does the World Serpent die? Otherwise there'd be infinite World Serpents all over the place.
Just look into mythology. Thats the proof you need. Loki/Atreus actually gives birth to The world serpent.
Calling the Serpent his Son is just perspective. I take the "Painting" on the wall shows the Serpent leaving Atreus mouths as a form of releasing internal energy and shaping it into an diety. His inner beast.
