"Perfectly reasonable number of screws" 25:14 made me laugh. I was trying to figure out who was the architect, landscape architect, and engineer.

Haha yeah the hubby is the engineer and believes in a high factor of safety! Especially when working with the architect (our friend) and his wife (me, the landscape architect) 😅🤣

I'm curious if you needed both sets of cleats or just a spacer for the bottom. I'm looking at doing something similar, but taller. 10'wide by 6'high. Would I need more than 2x4 cleat material?

Looking to use 4 30" wide panels

2x4 clear material should still be more than enough for those panels. We still highly recommend using a cleat at the bottom though to keep the panels tight against the wall.

Hello. Great idea to split up the headboard into smaller boards. Easier install Question - So... you did a French cleat on a French cleat - I mean draws hang off boards which hang off the wall. Just want to know what the stability is like? And have you seen this kinda double cleat thing done before? Thanks!

The nightstands are rock solid. The beauty of french cleats is how effective they are at transferring a load. My biggest worry was the cleat breaking off the back of the box or else I would have stood on it for a thumbnail photo 😅 You'll see we used glue and screws to strengthen the piece even further.
I've never seen someone double them up before in woodworking, but the same principal is incorporated in some modular shelving systems.

Beautiful builds. What software do you use to write up the designs? Also, i have an extra router or two laying around. One is a palm router. You can have it for free if you want it.

Thank you! We like Solidworks, but any 3D CAD software works. A lot of people like to use Sketchup as there is a free version. Although we could always use more tools, we actually got a palm router just recently (after this build of course🤣). But thank you for the kind offer!
