    This is good advice. People need to do market research before they get started to find their target audience. Im in business for 1 month and it’s taking off because I don’t do everything

      Thanks for taking the time to comment, I agree with you fully. Sadly, for most of us, when we first get started, no one tells us this stuff. Business can be hard if you don't follow a proven path. Thanks again for providing your feedback. What's your business? What did you niche into?

      That's amazing! So happy you are starting off on the right foot, please do take note, if you are really busy, you may want to review your numbers... being too busy is often a sign that your pricing may need to be raised a bit.... Good luck! You've got this! - Chef Letty

    • @TheBakingBusinessInsider
      @TheBakingBusinessInsider  8 месяцев назад +1

      @@Sheila-p7k8i CONGRATS! my biggest advice is to really understand your numbers... knowing you cost of goods is not enough- building in your overhead is a must and you won't truly have a real number of what those cost are until you are in your bakery... keep a close eye on your numbers and do not be afaid to raise your pricing if needed. Also, my second tip is to start your customers emails from day one... an email list is like having a personal ATM, start collecting those emails so you can nurture your customer base and create superfans! - Good luck~ You've got this.... - Please reach out to me again if you need more guidance - Hugs, Chef Letty

    I am Amy and I do make sugar free treats!
    I got my niche. Marketing myself is hard but I'm getting the hang of it.
    I finally got the courage to join my local farmers market this year.
    Great video. I feel like I'm on the right path.

    • @TheBakingBusinessInsider
      @TheBakingBusinessInsider  7 месяцев назад +2

      Wow!, thanks Amy for taking the time to add a comment, I wish you much success... Marketing yourself can feel icky & salesy if you look at it from a sales perspective... I want you to flip the switch and start to think of marketing as a way show up to SERVE your people instead of SELL TO THEM. When you flip that switch in your head, showing up will become very easy, because at the end, we all want to help people... If I was you, I'd remember that every time I broadcast who I am and what I sell, I am helping a person who is looking for yummy sugar free treats with a product that is made well and with a lot of love... Don't be afraid to share your WHY reason of why you make sugar free treats.... trust me, when you share your why, people who can relate will want to buy from you instead of someone else.... Good Luck! - Chef Letty

      Thanks for watching & leaving a comment, I truly appreciate it. Ok, as far as your question goes… first thing I would do is create a menu for all of the different cookies I make, second thing I would do is take really good pictures of each cookie flavor, then the last thing I would do to sell is to start posting pics with cute captions on my social media pages, with a clear call to action at the end of caption instructing the person on how they can order them.
      Example: Meet “Chip” he’s a popular cookie, he’s filled with gooey goodness, you can devour 6 Chips at home for just $xx… (insert one of these ->) dm me, email me call me etc etc to place your order.
      Good luck!

      @@TheBakingBusinessInsider My daughter wants to become a pastry chef and we have limited means. We decided that between the two of us we'll become home bakers and sell at church, etc to raise the money as no bursaries are given for these courses. I'll help with the baking after work, and then she can decorate during the day. (I don't have her artistic talents). My first instinct was to bake anything and everything that will sell. Thank you for the advice. It makes perfect sense. Bless your little cotton socks. We've taken a look at things that few people specializes in and decided on old school dunking biscuits My gran used to make the most awesome ones. I had my poor mom (now a pensioner) go through the boxes that came out if my gran's house 23 years ago. So it's really old school biscuits and it's a lost art and recipes. I can't recall ever eating anything similar after she passed. This will be our niche. You're awesome.

      @@MaxMarais-y9f Hello, thank you for your feedback, it sounds like you are on the right path. If I were you, I would add grandma's name into your company name or item you are selling. Ex: Granny's Biscuit Bakery or Grandma Betty's Biscuits - this will help tell the story of family, traditions and secret recipes. Everyone that LOVES those core values will want to try your biscuits. Weave her legacy, and what makes her biscuits so special into your marketing. Remember the key it to get known for one thing and once your customer is on the hook, then you can upsell them on other items to get them to spend more with you... Good Luck and thank you for your feedback, I wish you and your daughter much luck.

      You are very welcome, you have a great opportunity to sky rocket your sales by highlighting sugar free & gluten free products, make sure to use those keywords in you post & marketing assets (flyers, business card, etc) that is an underserved audience so if you build those keywords into your brand, you will surely stand out and the revenue/orders will easily pour in. I loved your video and thank you for sharing your knowledge with us! I am known for my cookies especially for one particular kind. Is it best to just only begin selling your specialty cookie when you start off with your bakery business or do you offer 1-3 cookie flavors initially at the beginning stages and then hyper focus your marketing on that one specialty cookie that you are known for? Thanks

    • @TheBakingBusinessInsider
      @TheBakingBusinessInsider  11 месяцев назад

      Hi Lisa, thanks for your feedback on the video, I appreciate it very much. As far as your question… making “Cookies” your niche sounds great, offering 1-3 flavors of cookies sounds great too and then highlighting the “one” flavor as your most popular seller will work as well. So it’s a combination of all of the things you mentioned. Good luck, and let me know if you would like additional videos on other topics. Thanks again, Chef Letty

      @@WalkingWithChrist8440 Wow, that's really amazing, with God all things are possible. Splitting your time up between a ft job and your side business can take a toll on you. Make sure you are charging enough and are resting up as well. Sometimes home bakers are so eager for the business that they charge too little which then makes it much harder to increase pricing to make more profit and work less hours. Also, buying in bulk and staying very organized are key ingredients to making sure you don't burn out... I wish you much success. Thanks again for your feedback. Bonjour Chef Letty,
    GOD definitely works in mysterious ways. Why did your “baking” video show up in my feed last night? Almost miraculously, GOD used your message to help steer my new “non-baking” business ahead of a critical meeting today with the Minister of Culture.
    This insightful and educational video has reached me all the way in Monte Carlo. My name is David and I am Fabergé’s former Creative Director responsible for product design and development, global marketing and international public relations. My work has been promoted by American Express and I’ve been featured on CNN and BBC Two.
    Sometimes in life we become so bogged down with responsibilities that we forget essential basics like the importance of “niching down”.
    Thank you for your effort. Your amicable, down-to-earth style, and wise counsel is much appreciated. FYI: I watched your video 3x and even took notes.
    Want a story?
    My father is Cuban. My mother Venezuelan. Whilst I was born in Canada, I was raised in the Caribbean and educated in Florida. Although my family is from Coral Gables, I live and work in the Principality of Monaco.
    Merci beaucoup et s'il vous plaît… carry on! 🧁📕🧁📕🧁📕🧁
