@@Sheila-p7k8i CONGRATS! my biggest advice is to really understand your numbers... knowing you cost of goods is not enough- building in your overhead is a must and you won't truly have a real number of what those cost are until you are in your bakery... keep a close eye on your numbers and do not be afaid to raise your pricing if needed. Had to pause to comment. I am Amy and I do make sugar free treats! I got my niche. Marketing myself is hard but I'm getting the hang of it. I finally got the courage to join my local farmers market this year. Great video. I feel like I'm on the right path.

I want you to flip the switch and start to think of marketing as a way show up to SERVE your people instead of SELL TO THEM. When you flip that switch in your head, showing up will become very easy, because at the end, we all want to help people... If I was you, I'd remember that every time I broadcast who I am and what I sell, I am helping a person who is looking for yummy sugar free treats with a product that is made well and with a lot of love... Don't be afraid to share your WHY reason of why you make sugar free treats.... trust me, when you share your why, people who can relate will want to buy from you instead of someone else.... Ok, as far as your question goes… first thing I would do is create a menu for all of the different cookies I make, second thing I would do is take really good pictures of each cookie flavor, then the last thing I would do to sell is to start posting pics with cute captions on my social media pages, with a clear call to action at the end of caption instructing the person on how they can order them. Example: Meet “Chip” he’s a popular cookie, he’s filled with gooey goodness, you can devour 6 Chips at home for just $xx… (insert one of these ->) dm me, email me call me etc etc to place your order. We decided that between the two of us we'll become home bakers and sell at church, etc to raise the money as no bursaries are given for these courses. I'll help with the baking after work, and then she can decorate during the day. (I don't have her artistic talents). My first instinct was to bake anything and everything that will sell. Thank you for the advice. It makes perfect sense. Bless your little cotton socks. We've taken a look at things that few people specializes in and decided on old school dunking biscuits My gran used to make the most awesome ones. I had my poor mom (now a pensioner) go through the boxes that came out if my gran's house 23 years ago. So it's really old school biscuits and it's a lost art and recipes. I can't recall ever eating anything similar after she passed. This will be our niche. You're awesome.

Ex: Granny's Biscuit Bakery or Grandma Betty's Biscuits - this will help tell the story of family, traditions and secret recipes. Everyone that LOVES those core values will want to try your biscuits. Weave her legacy, and what makes her biscuits so special into your marketing. Remember the key it to get known for one thing and once your customer is on the hook, then you can upsell them on other items to get them to spend more with you... @@TheBakingBusinessInsider I was actually lead by God to become a home baker I never thought I would be doing this I am so grateful..,I been in business almost a year mostly selling to my co-workers at my primary job and their families I do custom orders I started off selling EVERYTHING but I’m mainly booked for cakes, brownies, cupcakes and cobblers 😊

Make sure you are charging enough and are resting up as well. Sometimes home bakers are so eager for the business that they charge too little which then makes it much harder to increase pricing to make more profit and work less hours. Also, buying in bulk and staying very organized are key ingredients to making sure you don't burn out... I wish you much success. Thanks again for your feedback.
