It was a prototype rifle by HK and was supposed to be this new revolutionary firearm that used caseless ammunition and fed like a bullpup rifle. In the end though, Germany chose to adopt the HKG36 instead. I believe the gun was only used by some German police forces in the limited amounts it was produced in, and some were given to the US for testing on its caseless ammunition.

That's the idea of the G11's hyper burst fire mode; fire once, but hit trice. They won't see it coming until it's too late.

That's a thing for snipers, yes. But because G11 use caseless ammunition, the enemies can't even see any spent cartridges, thus much harder to detect. And it's not one, or two, but three bullets, coming at ya at 2000 RPM!

Annoyed by how Black Ops 1 and CS Nexon are the only games to include the empty reload animation. I can only assume that for the other games the devs didn't have much knowledge on the G11 other than it can shoot in bursts and has that tube magazine at the front full of caseless rounds.
I agree. Also BO1 went too far by adding iron sights gun was never intended to have. Balance reasons i guess. And p.s. it wasn't tube magazine. Ammo wasn't in line. It was more like p90. Its still a box mag
Understandable, really, since there isn't any "living" samples left now, and therefore, limited knowledge of this space magic gun, even by a expert's standard. If anything else, it's a very rare sight to actually find one that still works.

@@240pixel Those iron sights were present on many other guns in BO1, including the FAMAS, M60 and Colt Commando -- all of which had their own distinctive iron sights irl. That game was full of really bizarre artistic design choices.
I am really surprised they took into account the ceaseless ammo. I suppose the fact that they even earned an appearance in some games is surprise enough

You have to click a magazine release button (it's at the back of the sight) before changes the magazine. Not using your king kong strength to rip the magazine
The only fps game that got the G11 reload correct is Phantom Forces from roblox, yes Phantom Forces has a G11

Yeah, I first know G11 from the game. It has the burst fire mode pretty accurate compared to real life, a pity that the video didn't show it here

They abandoned the project for was being expensive and they create new project

@@masrendra8625 pratically the bullet was inside a little box (made of alluminium or metal...dunno) that was very fragile, for fragile i mean that the box often deforms. And that makes the weapon jam. So the weapon was unefficient
@@masrendra8625 Due to the G11 using caseless Ammunition, the gun powder was only compressed and if dropped to the ground, could potentially break.
I like how it is basically only two games that show the G11s reload correctly. BO1 and CSNZ
Even then magazines weren't released before taking them out. Still better than rest though

Would really like to see this baby appear in more games. A shame it only exists as a prototype weapon.
if i could make videogames i'd put this gun in with the right reload animations along with giving it an upgraded model that looks like its used for combat, even an underslung attachment part cos the idea of it having a grenade launcher sounds cool

Terrorist Take-down 3's, Code of Honor 2's and Combat Arms' tendency to slow down automatic rifles' ROF now makes sense with the G11 since it's automatic rof is around 400 rpm

And the games which had a burst feature, the best thing about the gun don't delay the recoil, which again is the best thing about the gun. It's like single loading a machinegun, it defeats all purpose.

These video game developers sure put a lot of recoil to this gun considering it is a "recoilless" rifle when in burst mode it is supposed to shoot 3 rounds before the interior mechanism stops moving, causing a slight recoil

I like how none of these games get that the other magazines were right there on the gun too. Especially in Cod. I run out of ammo yet I can clearly see two more magazines on my G11.

Curiosity: This rifle used a very small caliber (4.3 milímeters) and the bursts shot with a fire rate of aprox. 2300 bullets per minute.
And in my opinion, it has a very rare design.

Funny how only a few games showed charging of the bolt animations (crancking that spring with a knob)
Most of them get it wrong as the g11 was a burst fire/ semi auto bullpup (as the mechanism was in the stock) which fired caseless rounds. The downfall of the G11 was that the weapon would overheat the caseless rounds (as the brass casing normally acts as a heat sink to the weapon to disperse the thermal energy the weapon makes after firing). This would result in uncontrollable automatic fire that could not be stopped.
After a few redesigns it looked like the G11 was going to replace G13 in service in 1990. However the downfall to this weapon was the reunification of west and east Germany in 1991. After the reunification the lack of funding (along with a few other things) lead to the weapon never being put into service. The more well known G34 would replace the G13 in service for Germany.
I love how this thing sounds. The echoey effect that it has. Might just be me playing too many games with bad audio quality but I like it

Because it has a very complex mechanism and uses caseless cartriges. And we german always overengineer stuff but make it work. That's why it's Kraut Space Magic

I like how no game actually managed to use the magazines as they really were supposed to (the spare ones being the ones left and right of the one in use.) and a couple even showed the mags on the gun, but loaded one from the soldier's ... hip i guess?
What makes this gun special is it’s caseless rounds. It was only a prototype with no amount of production. Replaced by the G36.
@Lazarevic_ 21 I believe that west German light infantry were even issued some G-11's for field testing till the fall of the Berlin wall stripped funding away
