SmallRig 15mm Carbon Rod modded for M12 caps

It makes sense why SmallRig doesn't tap M12x1.75 theads into these rods because they won't stand up to the forces of joining rods together. But they could have at least did it anyway during manufacturing and added a disclaimer that the threads are only for protective caps to save from bumps so the rods don't explode on impact.
To do this, you'll need any 15mm carbon LWS rods (I used SmallRig because I'm a brand whore). M12 LWS rod caps (you can use anything that has an M12x1.75 thread pitch like the 8Sinn caps or even make your own using some random bolts. (again, I used SmallRig cause I'm a slut for their accessories).
You need a bench vise or locking pliers to hold the rod, a tapered or half taper tap (bottoming tap will not work and you'll just end up cracking the rod).
Just make sure the tap is perfectly straight and go slow, or it will crack the rod while tapping. This is common general practice for tapping any straight through hole in any material.
Tap the rod until you have roughly 15mm of fully developed threads and then work the tap back out.
That's it, threaded carbon LWS rods that you can install protective caps into.
