    Thanks so much for being here with us! 💛💛 I know we've made a lot of mistakes in this process so far, but it's important to not make this video series a highlight reel and share all the ups and downs through-out the process. That includes ALL the silly mistakes. We hope to make some really BIG strides on our build in the next month before heading out east again with Tal & Mads to visit the Van Wives. Stay Tuned!

      Hi Colin!!! I'm currently building out a ambulance 🚑 camper. They have 2 AC units as well. 1 in the cab and 1 in the rear box. Even though they have their own controls, the coolant part of the system and compressor are all 1 system under the hood. I wish I could've given you a heads up back when you were working on this. Glad it's all worked out now 👍💯 I can't wait to see more of your build 💛💫

    Love to watch you guys, part of growing up is you learn from your mistake, I'm in a process to convert a handicap passengers van , I have the same problem what you guys have. but in order to do everything myself, things I don't know I let people who knows to work for it, like the air con. for the rear, my mechanic told me it's connect to the front unit, it has to " CAP " before removing, so I bring the van to the truck mechanic to cap them, it means the air con and heat, because they both run on the same unit. Then come to remove the floor , just like yours, it has bolt everywhere to bolt down the seat. I try to do it myself first, but fruitless, then I brought it to the body shop, they took 4 hrs to torch or grounded them out and patch the holes. so far that's what has done, I learned in order to keep the cost down," DON'T MAKE MISTAKE," at the end it may cost you move. The bright side of owning a handicap passenger van is they likely drive more gentle than the cargo van, it save you repair bill down the road for the power trans. looking forward for you next video

    It's standard practice to connect auxiliary HVAC units in the back of vans to the main engine coolant system. Every van I've owned since the 90's was built that way. Some by 3rd party conversion companies. Some directly from the factory. Yours was slightly different since the AC part was a dedicated system - usually that is connected to the main engine AC as well.
    I know the "we don't really know what we're doing" bit of making RUclips videos can get views, but at the same time when you start building your van, being willfully ignorant can cause a lot of damage - or worse. Please do more research as you start building out various systems. And if you aren't comfortable with some aspects, please get help. And not "Internet" help, but hands-on help.

    • @colinandpaige
      @colinandpaige  2 года назад +2

      Hi Ian. This very constructive feedback, thank-you. You're absolutely right about doing more research, we need to be better. We know very little about vans and maintenance of these vehicles, we are learning slowly from our mistakes. We've decided to also work with a local builder to help us with the build and rely on their expertise, so it goes a bit more smooth.
