Hi, Cat! I relate!! No matter what someone else tells you to do, please forge your own trail in this. I've lost 80 lbs. in the last year and I feel better at almost 65 than I did at 30. We all have our own problems to solve in the 'health' arena and I'll be right along with you! Keep your chin up, friend. I know you can achieve whatever you like, to the glory of God!

I was over 404 pounds and am at 225 now. I did it with no surgery, pills, mlms or special equipment.
Congrats my friend! So proud of your accomplishments! 😊 There are so many things out there claiming to help you lose weight, but I believe it’s having the right mindset and faith to believe you can that will do it!

Yes, I relate. Overweight since teens. Tried and failed so many diets. What has worked for me has been to decide 1 thing to change e.g. no crisps (UK so chips US) and then track it daily. I could then hopefully see improvement over the months. Once a change was bedded in and happening around 60% or more of the time, I'd add another change. Habit tracking has been on food/drink, exercise, meditation, crafting and anything I think will help me to be the person I want to be. Wishing you all the best with your challenge!!

I am in the middle of my weightloss journey and I have a few bits of advice if you want it. I have struggled with my weight for years and the following finally got me to lose weight.
Too many goals is going to set yourself up for failure.
Try one new thing each week.
I am gluten free but not dairy free. It’s really hard to hit protein goals if you are cutting dairy.
For your goals, start out with 30 mins of movement a day. Get a step tracker. Start tracking your steps and challenge yourself to beat your weekly total every week.
For your food, track your food for two weeks and don’t worry about changing anything. After two weeks, Look for patterns and work on substitutions. So if you like going to subway, make your sandwich at home and scoop bread out so you just have the crust.
Check what your TDEE is and take your goal weight x 0.7 and that is your protein goal. Protein and fiber is going to make you feel full!
Finally make it fun! Dance videos, Zumba, grow with Jo!

Yet another fabulous video and I’ll also be joining you in this journey. In fact I went back and watched this video a SECOND time so I could set up my journal very similar to yours. I used a really cute little 7x5 notebook with multi colored neon paper as bright colors make me happy so I can’t wait to do this along with you! I hope you’ll share updates so we can check in with you as well! Thanks for the inspiration. Being a fellow teacher you know how the struggle is this time of year so hopefully this will keep us on track!

I have struggled with weight most of my life. I have done WW three times. Lost 50 pounds twice during those WW times and then gained it all back. I am over 50 now and it is really hard. I love this health journal idea. Thank you!

Hi!!😊 What a great video! I hope you see the results and success you’re looking for!❤️ I think that’s a great system, cute and functional! I prefer to focus on my health, wellness and activity, as long as I’m feeling good and able to do what I need to without being sore or winded then I feel like I’m doing ok. When I start feeling stiff and achey I increase my activity and when I feel sluggish and weighed down I switch to a little cleaner eating for awhile. I just try to keep myself balanced based on how I’m feeling I guess! I also keep in mind some conditions I’m genetically predisposed to (gosh I hope that’s the right word). All about that balance lol Thank you so much and I look forward to the update of hearing how your system is working for you!❤

I agree about needing God to do anything, Cat. It's funny but my weigh day is Sunday also! LOL. One treat that I really like that's healthy is made in the magic bullet or nutribullet. I take some frozen fruit (strawberries or blueberries or whatever, I used to like a mango mix that I used to get at Aldi) and put it in the magic or nutri bullet, add some milk and blend. I sometimes add a little sugar or honey if I really want it or some stevia or some other sweetener. it's like ice cream but so much healthier and lower in calories. Again I'm so glad to have found you again. God bless you and yours.

I can relate Cat. About three years ago I started walking for health reasons because I heard that walking 150 minutes a week could help prevent getting a certain disease by around 50% so I started. Then shortly after that I started calorie counting and I got rid of 35 lbs. It was great. Then suddenly it stopped and some of the weight came back. I'm still down around 25 lbs which is great but I really want to get at least 80 lbs off. I hope to be able to do that. Prayers for your journey.

I’ve always struggled with weight since I was young. I’ve tried different diets here and there. I’ve finally realized that eating better is easier than a “diet”. I can’t seem to stick with it if it’s called a diet. The down side is that I don’t really like to cook. I’m trying to get over that issue. 😆 I retired a couple of years ago from teaching kindergarten for most of my career. I now suffer from lower back pain. Everything in kindergarten is short! The kids are short, the furniture, everything is short!! 😂 Because of that, I can’t walk as much as I want to. I have good days and will get on my treadmill, but I have a lot of bad days where I don’t. I am very glad that you went ahead and shared this video. You’re right, you’re not alone on this journey. I look forward to seeing updates, whatever they may be. I will try to do the same. ❤

One thing that I forgot to mention in my other comment was something that really worked well for me is small steps. When I started walking, I made a rule that I had to walk at least five minutes a day. I could walk more if I wanted to but I had to walk five minutes. The reason for that is that some days are just crazy and sometimes if I had too big of a goal it was too much to even start. Lately I've been trying to walk 4000 steps most mornings. Also having the small requirement I could always do it and sometimes I'd be doing it in the bedroom right before bed but I always did it and didn't have to feel like a failure. I often walked more than 5 minutes.
So true. I tend to “bite off more than I can chew” and then struggle to meet my goals. The key like you said is baby steps😊
I don't know you are age but there are a few of us in my office that are going through perimenopause and we're having hot flashes, mood swings and gaining weight like 20 lbs in the past few months and we're all stressed. I listened to a good podcast from Mel Robbins addressing perimenopause. One of the good tips I learned was to drink a glass of water before drinking coffee and eating breakfast. It's supposed to help with avoiding the afternoon slump but I noticed I'm not having afternoon slump for caffeine and that I don't snack in the afternoon either. Also, since the sun has been setting far later in the afternoon, I've been going for walks after work for about 40 minutes. I've been burning about 300 calories during those walks while listening to podcasts or an audiobook and getting some vitamin D. I've been sleeping better and I've lost about an inch all over and my pants are feeling much better. I'll be happy to join you on your journey!

I'm in. I gained 50lbs when I became ♿. I've been able to drop 10lbs but I got sick and lost motivation. This sounds like a really fun way to try again.

I've never gone completely gluten free because it seemed too overwhelming but I have often given up wheat. Right now I'm just limiting wheat and I have a list of certain things that I can eat that I really want that have wheat in them but generally I avoid it. I've found that I can bake sweets with oat flour and it's really good. Also oatmeal with fruit and a little sugar is a really good treat.

O the struggles are real!!! Eating healthy is a hard one to do with a kid in sports and a job but not old enough to drive yet. Lots of fast food pick up on the way home. Yo-yo weight… health issues… I’m always trying to think of things to make mine and my daughters health brighter ❤️❤️

Should track measurements as well. You can lose inches but not pounds because muscle weighs more than fat. It’s fun to watch those inches disappear. Lol
