Jimmy as an MP4-12C owner, this was quite a treat. I truly love the 12C and I'm baffled that the prices have not skyrocketed. It is absolutely special in many ways, and I've owned over 50 cars, this is my favorite. It has not come without issues, or costly parts for repairs lol. Thank you for sharing so much history, knowledge, and your passion for this car I love so much. Wish I was near Toronto so I could come check it out. I almost bought VIN 187 which is also spec'd very nice, but yours takes the cake for sure. Cheers!
That’s the spirit, and I agree in basically everything you say, I truly believe the 12c is one of the most understated and underappreciated supercars in history. I have owned mine for 7 years, with absolutely no plane of changing that in the future, it is still one of the fastest things out there. In fact, I went to a McLaren track day event in Dubai a few weeks ago, I was shocked how little difference there is between a 720S and an old 12c, however the price is 3 times as high on the 720s which probably argue that the 12c was leaps ahead when produced.
Loved watching this. I can really feel your passion for the car and the brand. The 12C is a fantastic car and many people overlook the software revisions that happened throughout the lifetime of the vehicle. I just wish all 12C owners would have the latest software upgrades done as they really do fix a lot of the silly issues that the car became known for yet got fixed over its lifetime. Your example is a very very special car, the only thing that would make it better for me would be the optional carbon race seats (as fitted to 675LT, P1, etc.). The very first McLaren automotive car will definitely appreciate and become a collectors item in the future! Wonderful things but if money isn't so tight I'd stretch further and get a 675LT which is basically a "breathed on" 12C. That extra polish really does make the diamond sparkle even more...
Nice review Jimmy, your passion for the 12C really comes through 😎 You're almost as big a fan as me! I'm the proud owner of chassis #427 which is VERY similar to your car. McLaren Orange on Stealth Superlight's but with steel discs and Orange brake calliper's. Mine has body coloured intake "blades" and spoiler/airbrake to make it even more perfect 😘 Growing up close to the McLaren factory in Woking and having been a McLaren Racing fan as long as I can remember I bought into the design ethos of the 12C and it's reflection of the company leadership (Ron Dennis, Anthony Sheriff etc). I loved how it took a different approach to the competition using high tech construction to deliver truly savage performance with limousine levels of comfort 😲 The "and" car as the McLaren brochures called it. I've had my car for over 6yrs now and continue to be in awe of it. Subsequent McLaren's have diverted from that original ethos and become more similar to the Italian competition i.e. louder, spikier and flashier... but not IMHO better. I think the 12C has aged (matured) really nicely, now settling into modern classic status and finally getting the recognition and respect it deserves 🤩
I see this is a slightly older video, but the more I learn about these cars, the more I'm impressed. I'm about a year, Mayne two out from being able to comfortably purchase one. I love the way they look, they are more elegant than aggressive looking, nice smooth lines. The performance is STILL competitive, and they respond to modifications so well.
Thanks Bill, at the beginning of this whole adventure the dealers and the manufacturer were so close. Through figuring out issues and development of the cars these discussions often came up. For geek like me it was heaven so retained a lot of the discussions.
You lost all credibility with me when you mentioned you have the Intake Sound Generator turned down to minimum in all modes. I have mine at MAXIMUM. Otherwise it sounds no better than a sewing machine ... 🤣🤣🤣 #ilovemymp4

Repeat customer here Jimmy (ask Mark B). Thoroughly enjoyed this review because like the car, it was an honest assessment of the 12C. Well done.
Thank you so much!
Great review, in love with the 12C 😎

Thank you for making this video!
Great video of a very cool car. I learned a lot.
Great review. Makes me love my 12C that much more.
Thank you. It’s a incredible car and deserves so much given everything that limited it. What a car and what a first effort!
I'm picking up a Volcano Orange tomorrow in the UK. Very similiar level of spec. Excited! Loved the passion in this video 🙂
I'm looking to purchase and seen a volcano orange one. Was considering a 991.1 GT3..
I have loved every moment of mine so far, although at the moment it is stored for the winter. Whatever you choose, enjoy!@@s.godbur3589

Jimmy, I own that 50th. It's down here in the States in NJ 😆😎
That car looks really familiar.. Didn't know you were such a car nerd, we should be friends ;)
I’m a super nerd!
Is this filmed in a bat sanctuary? btw great passionate speech, hey from across the pond cousin.
Find me one and sell it to me!
Timeless design but those wheels, my god they are awful, never understand the craze for blacked out wheels…..?
You lost all credibility with me when you mentioned you have the Intake Sound Generator turned down to minimum in all modes.
I have mine at MAXIMUM.
Otherwise it sounds no better than a sewing machine ...
