I live in a nursing home. We made peanut butter fudge. Using peanut butter and vanilla frosting. Nuke in the microwave. Stir together. Then refrigerate. Amazing!!!
As we get older any lemon dessert seems so fancy and decadent. I love lemon, and lemon blueberry anything... makes me feel like I should be having tea with the queen. 😂
Me, too! Lemon curd, Lemon pound cake, Lemon muffins, etc. I don’t recall liking lemon when I was younger as much as I do now. The last couple years I keep asking my husband for a lemon poppy seed cake. This year, I just made my own cake to satisfy my love for all things lemon.
I have made cake with just a box of cake mix and a can of whatever soda we had, I also give them to the food banks with sprinkles, candles, and a cake pan all wrapped together. That makes it shelf stable. A lot of kids that grew up without enough food, this was the only kind of cake they ever got. 💗
Yes, you can use raspberry, blueberry, apple, pumpkin pie filling. I made the same dessert using lemon pie filling and a lemon cake mix for a potluck. It was immediately devoured! I've also used pureed pumpkin with a spice cake mix...added some mini chocolate chips. Delish!
Yes to all of this. I worked in a local university's bakery and we made cookie bars by the thousands. Same basic idea only use the cake mix with butter as the crust, top with pie filling of choice (or chocolate chips etc.) and finally topped with a crumb or streusel topping. Everyone loved them and super easy and cheap.
To make your cream whip faster put the bowl and attachment in the freezer. We don't use sweetened condensed milk.. we us pudding(vanilla or chocolate) mix pudding with 1 cop of milk then fold in 1 container of cool whip. For more like sherbert add dry jello( small box) hugs love blessings to all.
The pineapple angel food cake (using a one-step angel food cake mix) is an old WW recipe. Easy, simple and calorie, especially if it's topped with low calorie Cool Whip.
That lemon bar recipe would be yummy with a small scoop of that ice cream! I can’t get over how much the boys have grown, the teens are so tall standing over you, that’s wonderful’
That last cake I have been making for YEARS.... in the microwave. Tupperware used to make a containner that went in the miicrowave called a "Rock N Serve" (It's now called "Vent N Serve) that was great for thhat 2 ingredient bundt cake. Cake mix, 12 ounces of soda, into the container similar to a bundt pan (although ANY round microiwave safe containner and a shot glass works just as well) and 7 minutes later you had a cake. Let it cool 10 minutes and tip it out onto a plate then let cool completely and frost (if desired).
Thank you for showing how to make the lemon bars. When I do it, I’ll put the lemon filling in a large bowl and gradually pour in the angel cake mix, maybe a cup or less at a time, stir, then add more cake mix. 😂😂. I like the idea of making the ice cream, but my frugal side would buy a 1/2 gal of ice cream on sale for $1.99 in whatever flavor we wanted. I know the heavy whipping cream costs more than that and the condensed milk is also spendy. Debi in Vicksburg, MS. 🥰🥰
15:5217:26 the creamsickle cake is really good to put it in a 9x12 sheet pan then after baking it mix up a small packet of orange Jello. Poke the cake all over with the back of a wooden spoon or a chop stick. Pour the jello all over the cake filling the holes. Open a can of Mandarin oranges and drain it. Open a tub of cool whip and cover the top of the cake then place the Mandarin oranges on top of the cake. Slice and enjoy!😊BTW I love your channel ❣️
Thanks so much for making these videos. I'm disabled and just can't risk making a bunch of random recipes that might fail. Seeing you try them with success or added tips makes me willing to try them.
The lemon "bars" looked great but like you showed, definitely a little bouncy for "bars". Maybe since they were a little cakey a little drizzle of vanilla icing or a light glaze would have improved them? Would likely work with the Raspberry or Pumpkin as well, but I would probably also add cinnamon to the icing for the pumpkin bars, lol. Ky reminds me so much of my own son at that age it's ridiculous, lol. He's 33 now but still favors Cookies N Creme over any other flavor of sweets.
If you like pineapple try using a box of angel food cake and a can of crushed pineapples. It was a big hit with my family. I also did a slight variation using whipped cream (or cool whip whichever you prefer) and shredded coconut as a topping.
You have the cutest, sweetest boys. I love each of their sweet personalities. Especially baby boy. Everytime he goes out it cracks me up. Never gets old. Im new to the channel. I love it tfs all these great recipes and budget saving tips. Its so helpful.
This was an interesting vlog. I enjoyed it. I also want to say your boys are really nice looking and I enjoy seeing them try out your new recipes. Barbara.
Brooke your hair is 🔥 Love the curls. Ryder face when you talked about the raspberry pie filling 😂 and then sweet lil Kylen's after tasting the ice cream. 😊❤
I’ve made the lemon cake before. We liked it. I used to make a microwave chocolate cake with Coca-Cola or Dr Pepper. It’s was a Tupperware recipe for a round dish with a convex middle. I box cake mix, 12 oz. Soda, and chocolate chips for frosting. It was alright. Made a fun demonstration. 😁
Wow, Bestie! Those were some very great and frugal ideas. Thank you for sharing, Brooke. I hope you are all having a blast🚀 on your vacation and you will find more uranium glass. Be blessed always, my Southerland Squad! xoxo
My favorite 2 ingredient cake is crushed pineapple mixed with an angel food cake. Bake in an angel food cake pan or even a 9x13 cake pan. I’m definitely going to try the lemon bars.
Another post on here sorry but just want You to know I truly Love Your videos. I am hooked. Keep them coming. Challenge dollar tree meals for 2.50 a day for 5 days. Please.
My favorite 2 ingredient cake is angel food and can of crushed pinespple. It is delicious and great for strawberries. Easier to cut than just plain angel food cake. The angel food cake is the box with no eggs added. Thanks for other ideas.
I think that making a little glaze for that Orange Fanta cake using a little powdered sugar and a little bit of the soda would be amazing. It might be one of those cakes that you have to cool completely maybe even refrigerate before turning it out. I think all of the recipes were great and we make the ice cream all the time and we add a splash of vanilla ( a little vanilla paste or vanilla bean would also work beautifully)!😊
You can also do the soda cake in a microwaveable bowl or pan and cook it in the microwave. I am a Tupperware rep and I make them at most my parties! The Biggest hit so far has been a devils food cake with a strawberry soda (I like strawberry cream dr pepper)
We do a quickie cream that is really good. You do need an ice cream maker tho.....It's a container of cool whip, a can of condensed milk, and a 2 liter orange drink....You pour these in this order into the chamber....let it mix and freeze...when done it tastes like an orange push up pop. We make it using different fruit flavors and it's a hit. cheap and quick!!!
They all looked yum but yes the 1st one can make so many flavors strawberry blueberry pumpkin lemon rasp. ect i'm excited to try that one. and put some froting or powdered sugar on top or even whip cream and fresh berries depending on what flavor you do.
Hi Brooke!!❤❤ In the last one, the orange cake I would have added only 8 oz of the soda and perhaps 1 egg. Vanilla in the ice cream. I've made the ice cream before. Love your channel!!! Love your boys...they are growing up so fast!!! ❤❤❤❤
I’d like to you try Nicecream Slice a couple bananas and freeze it . Put in a blender with liquid of choice ( milk or substitute, creamer , chocolate milk, even water . It only takes a small amount start with maybe 1/4 a cup for 2 bananas then add drops til you like the consistency! If you more than just that add ins are endless ! If the pie filling is crushed raspberry that would work... I didn't mean to send first comments before I was done... Silly me hit the wrong button.... Ice cream looks interesting... I'm surprised too... The Bundt cake will be good I would think.... It's still a cake it's going to be cut anyways...it's going to be eaten... Love y'all and be safe enjoy your camping trip and hope Breydon loves Kennedy Space Center.... 🙏🙏❤️🥰🥰🥰
Little tip on whipping the cream: pop your beater and bowl in the freezer for about 15 minutes beforehand. It'll make the cream whip so much faster and easier! 😉 The ice cream looked really good. Imagine the flavor combos! Add some strawberries or peaches with a little vanilla. Yum!
The creamsicle cake is probably the most "frugal" one. Whipping cream and sweetened condensed milk are pretty pricey currently...I honestly think Ive made that ice cream recipe before though and it was good! If yiu stick your mixing bowl and whisk attachment in the freezer for awhile before starting the whipping cream will peak really fast. I agree as mentioned that a little vanilla will add alot to that. I love lemon bars...I like those that turn out like a cookie crust with lemon filling though. Now even though agel food cake mix is expensive imo I would make that if the result was like cookies lol Thank you for doing these! It's really nice to see them tried out by somebody that i trust to give honest feedback....aaaand, now I want ice cream 😂😅😂
Hi!! I make the 2 ingredient cake and I have made it with blackberry pie filling and it is great!! What I do is let it cool down, then spread cool whip on it and sprinkle fresh fruit on it depending the pie filling used. Like Blackberries if you do blackberry filling, sliced strawberries if you use Strawberry filling (tastes like Strawberry Shortcake when you use strawberries), cut up maraschino cherries if you use cherry pie filling. I haven't tried apples or pumpkin though but yeah, next time try cool whip and fresh berries or whatever. 😊
I bet it would be even better with a little glaze on top, but then it wouldn't be a 2 ingredient dessert. 😂 I live for dessert!!😊 Another awesome video Brooke!!❤❤❤ I'm talking about the first dessert btw.
I've made tons of cakes using a can of sprite only. I love the softness of it. I would enjoy a video of you making your version of the cake with the 🥚 also

My son came up with the idea to add a can of pureed pumpkin to a box spice cake around Thanksgiving last year. The texture was too thick for cake so I decided to try cookies. I baked them at 350 for 12 minutes. We got 3.5 dozen and they barely made a day before all the cakeies were gone. They were pillowey and moist and absolutely delicious!
I'm like you that sweet cream icecream base is good but i use the base for chocolate icecream a lot and it is so...good. Just add cocoa powder a pinch of salt and vanilla into the condensed milk then fold in whipped cream. 😋
I make the last cake with every flavor of soda you can think of but I only use 1 can of soda which I think is less... also flour your cake pan mine usually comes out fine.. I usually make a little frosting for it but it doesn't need it.
I live in a nursing home. We made peanut butter fudge. Using peanut butter and vanilla frosting. Nuke in the microwave. Stir together. Then refrigerate. Amazing!!!
How much peanut butter to 1 can frosting?
I use chocolate frosting ❤
Brooke, just gotta say this... Every time I just really don't want to cook, I watch you and I am ready to hit the kitchenm

I love this
I like a spice cake with Dr Pepper.
@jo What a kind thing to do…💕
That's an amazing idea wow
I think a little vanilla in the ice cream would add flavor
That's what I thought
I agree
Definitely! Needs vanilla or some sort of flavor extract!
💯
what i thought as well

20 plus years ago, weight watchers would suggest, one can pumpkin and one box spice cake, mix and bake. Really good!
I make this too...soo yummy!

Ice cream on a warm lemon bar!

“Poor man’s cake” for all three. Love it!❤
What about a video making different flavors of the ice cream. I am curious what kind of flavors beside choc vanilla could be made. Great videos!
Angel food cake mix and a can of crushed pineapples (undrained), I make this for Sunday dinner with a squirter of Reddi whip....
They all look so good❤😊
Try the pumpkin pie filling with a spice cake mix delicious also you can make a powder sugar icing or cheese jar cream cheese frosting

Would love to see 3 ingredient dessert recipes.
Yummmmmm!!!!!! Right up my alley ❤
It's really good with pineapple
I did one a few years ago with the crushed pineapple and angel food cake in an angel food cake pan. It stuck a bit. I think these cakes are better done in a regular cake pan.
Another cake to try is the spice cake mix with canned pumpkin and make cookies from it, I also will add 1 or 2 eggs and CHOCOLATE CHIPS!!! 😋
Me too!
I make this with crushed pineapple and serve it plain or dress it up with a cooked pineapple topping and cool whip. The pineapple one is an excellent dessert for a diabetic, I make it for a lot of fellowship dinners so everyone can have dessert. And adding cool whip to homemade ice cream kinda keeps ice crystals from forming. And re-freezing homemade ice cream will stay creamier. Love your site and really enjoy your sons' reactions. Love it...
You can put swirls of crushed red berries in the icecream, crushed cookies, chocolate swirls, chopped nuts, chocolate chips, and so on. Or make it flavored with some fruit puree.

I love making cookies with cake mixes. Whenever the seasonal ones go on clearance I stock up. I’ve gotten cake mixes for 33 cents!

The cake, i would add a white creamy frosting on top like a glaze..
I have made the ice cream, i added m & m on top , or whatever topping you like
