I like the new one although it would've been nice if it was more compact than the previous model. Hope we receive the GST 185 Li version in North America soon. Bosch is so outdated in jigsaw offerings around here (brushed models only)
From personal experience, both are just similar in power and speed in actual use disregarding the variable speed. The brushless has higher saw rate at the lowest speed setting compared to the old 18VLi. The big difference however, is the vibration, where the oldie 18VLi shines in stability. I believe this was covered in the video. Overall cutting speed and performance is still dependent on blade type and quality plus the user technique.

Why is the 185 so much bigger?
It is brushless, the electronics takes up more space inside, vs the older model which only houses a dc motor
