People at the pulpit cannot stick their heads in the sand when people are suffering at the hands of their government. Otherwise, the people feel ignored, you do not have to bring up politics every Sunday, but the Pastors must be aware of the issues that are affecting their people. Thank God for these great men!

This is to Cate Curtis. Number one the Bible is not a collection of fairy tales. In the end you will be held accountable for your rejection of God's word and that is not a place that any sane person should want to find themselves in. You say that the Bible promotes slavery? Can you prove it? You cannot read a revelation to antiquity based upon modern preconceptions and yet that is what many critics of scripture do. If you had been in my history class and tried to explain past events out of their historical context in a paper I would most certainly have given you a grade of F. When these documents were written slavery was a fact of life endured under every culture. Many slaves were bond slave's, that is that they owed a debt to someone and the only way that they had of repaying the debt was by voluntary servitude. And the treatment of women as you say was common to the culture the day. If you had read the Gospels you would have read how Jesus uplifted that status of women. In this day while we enjoy wages we are still subservient and slaves to a degree and this again resolves around the issue of debt. While I work for wages I do not get to enjoy complete benefit of those wages I am bound by law and contract to repay the debts I owe and if I do not work those debts do not get paid. You must also bear in mind that the abolishment of slavery movement began in the church based on the Gospel.

The question was "Do you see signs of revival in our nation?". Neither Thomas' response nor my comment has anything to do with the places outside USA that you mentioned. I make no threat, & I'm sorry you misunderstood. Thomas straw-mans what happens in universities. We should be thankful that the government doesn't interfere with religion. The nature of this country is that EVERYONE will encounter someone else whose thoughts/deeds/words offend them. That's the price of freedom.

I would like to say, even though I have not been to seminary, God does do the calling, and many are self called, because they had a great desire to teach, and therefore we have the blind leading the blind, and all the false teachers and preachers, many are called few are chosen; I know many that say they were called and confirmed, and think that the fruit of their calling is converts; scripture tells me if I win just one I have done well;, for they hated me and they will hate you for my name sake,. because they hate the truth, and God will lead us who have been born again, and walk in the spirit, and are lead into all truth by God; Next issue is ,if you have a pet sin, then you your self are a hypocrite because there are many sins, and sin is sin, no big, no little, for all have sin, just different sin, does not give you the right to judge sin, judge not, lest you be judged, but we can judge truth, or otherwise, we are tossed to and fro with every wind of doctrine,, as for me I will go to God, for truth and interpretation,

He uses a ridiculous analogy, 'we don't take our auto to a surgeon to be repaired. Politics is based on ethics. All law is based on ethics. The only question is whose ethics will decide what the laws will be and how the judges will rule. Therefore, we just need to take our suffering from the increasing change in laws and court cases and selection of judges because our pastors will not give us any guidance. Maybe there is no reason to vote. But its is God's will for us to vote? If it is God's will for us to vote don't we have to have some educated, intelligent understanding of God's will who to vote for or what legislative actions and court actions to support or resist? Maybe voting for who or against or what legislation to support or resist is indifferent to God. But if it is God's will to vote then should Christians put time and effort into supporting or working against candidates or proposed legislation? I guess when candidates run for office stating they will propose legislation making legal "honor killings" of bad daughters our pastors will just tell us to evangelize others, change them into Christians and pray for those young women whose families who will practice honor killings. Wait I forgot it has already happened. Pastors don't tell us if we should vote for or against a candidate based on his abortion stands for decades now. I have not heard of pastors state should Christians vote for or against a candidate based on the candidate's stand on homosexual marriage.

21:14 "government schools beat your faith out of you"? Wow. Last time I checked, any person in North America can go to church as many times a week as they like. They they have their choice of thousands of churches all over the continent, none of which pay taxes. There is NOTHING impinging anyone in North America from worshiping as they please. Christianity is highly privileged here. Stop whining and go to church if you need to. Count yourself lucky that you suffer no persecution here.
