I bought this same PC at the beginning of the year, only difference is mine came with a 3070. I am going to be doing some upgrades once the warranty is up next March and I just happened to come across your videos and I'm very glad I did cause now I know what I'll be getting my self into... Lol.
I actually have a Legion T7i with 11700k/3080 set up and am currently awaiting my new Mobo and AIO as well. AIO crapped out on me and i’ve been wanting to upgrade to a Z590 board too. The prebuilts are great but i know it can do more. Great video!
I’ve have my 3070 legion 7i tower for the past few days now, it’s not very loud in terms of fan noise. But will keep it updated to see how it goes after a month. After a year from now and the warranty is done and it’s bad then I’ll be doing this Corsair build as well because this is awesome!
Thanks for the video, been wanting to upgrade my fans too, been going thru your place list to find when you added the fans on top? and what directions do you have them going? (exhaust/intake) you have help me so much sir o7 p.s. I have the same pc, do you think a triple fan gpu will fit fairly easy?
@Jeff The IT Guy Thank you for this video. Very informative! I was wondering, does the power button on top of the 7i Tower illuminate any sort of light when powered on? It appears there’s a white LED in the middle of the power button. Does it light up when depressed?
Hey Jeff, thanks for the video. have you noticed a significant improvement regarding fan noise ? I feel like the stocks are awefully loud even in IDLE & quiet mode (>35-40dB). Thanks !
Hey so im planning to upgrade my fans too. I got the 3080 version so cooling it properly is important to me. However i cant seem to find the information on the stock fans. Every hardware scanning program lumps the fans for some reason. I get a gpu fan 1 which sounds like it covers the gpu fans, and the gpu fan 2 which sounds like it covers the other 5 fans and maybe even the cpu fan. The speeds of both of those go up to around 3200 rpm. Im not that knowledgeable about fans but the max 1500 rpm ones you use here sound like a massive downgrade. So i was wondering if your system had worse fans or my system is not showing information correctly. Would be great to know as the current fans sound like a plane taking off when gaming.
So with fans, more RPM doesn't mean more good. Its about the design of the blade, the shroud, etc the Lenovo fans are just generic fans that top out at 2500 rpm I believe. Also in this video I going for a quiet build with a lot of RGB
@@agenttoast8560 you should be able to take the top of the case off and there are holes for 120mm fans. For the T7 case. The T5 case does not have them I believe

That's right! Upgrade that machine, and when you do remember ole Jeff! Thanks for watching!

Can I still control the fan speed from Lenovo vantage if I replace the fans. Like putting it on quiet mode ETC.

@@JeffTheITGuy i got myself one Thermaltake TOUGHFAN 12 to test how much it gets affected. Gonna see how it goes from there.
What do you use to control fan speeds? I added two fans and they run at half the rpm then the stock fans. I can not find a way to control them.
The motherboard controls them if it’s the stock motherboard
Great tips. Does it void the warranty?
Yep
Are the new Corsair fans more quiet than the original oem lenovo? Looking to do some upgrades to mine.
Oh yes. Much quieter and cooler.
@Jeff The IT Guy can be connected them instead on original one? Mine fans don't have rgb...
Just a question: does it still work with Lenovo vantage?
Well obviously not, he already lost that ability from the time he swapped the motherboard.

Hey I installed Corsair fans with the commander pro with the stock Lenovo motherboard is that safe or do I have to buy a new motherboard?
That’s safe

I hate how hard it is to remove the front panel.. It makes me concerned of breaking it even while I just want to clean the dust filter..
I feel you buddy I replace the fans and holy cow I was so afraid to pull that off and break the front panel
I just upgraded the fans and my pc is so damn loud now....
Do you have better temperatures ?
Yep sure do
Did you have to upgrade the 650watt power supply
I did not
Hey, I’m having trouble finding how to add one exhaust fan on top but I’m not sure what size fan I can use and how I’m supposed to install it
120mm
Also, how am I supposed to screw it in? There aren’t really specific screw holes at the top of the case
