@@Outnumberedbykidsandcats British houses are generally smaller, and usually much older. You have to remember that we're a small island, compared with the sprawling US; houses are built on a smaller scale. We also preserve and continue living in old homes, including ones from the 16th century, or Victorian terraces, while my US friends tell me that it's rare to find a house for sale there that's more than a hundred years old. There are some design differences too. Most houses here were and are built with insulation in mind. Double cavity walls and double glazed windows to keep heat in, which also tends to mean fewer and smaller windows. I'd love a place with double balcony doors like in this house, and it makes sense to have that in a hot state in the US, but would require expensive double glazing to have here in the UK, and would only work if you had a large enough room and garden for it anyway. ETA: Almost no privately owned homes or businesses have air con either. It's rarely hot enough to warrant it. Although climate change might see that changing soon.
I am Australian, and I have always found it super interesting to see how houses vary from place to place! It think climate and cultural influence has a lot to do with it. (As said above) England has many older houses, built before the time of electric heating, so they are built to endure a cold winter. In Australia we are the opposite, so many houses in the hotter areas are built on stilts to allow airflow underneath the house to cool it down. Some major historical events such as the industrial revolution, and the historical need for housing to be near a water source likely shaped the housing of the more populated areas in England too. Newer places like Australia and the US were still very young in the times before transport and other technologies, so they have have been able to plan out their land distribution a little more to fit in with the modern lifestyle. In saying this though, I spent a month exploring England as a kid and had the time of my life!!! Your historical sites are breathtaking!!!
@@marysdanceworld6066 Aaaw, happy you had such a good time here! Australia and New Zealand have been at the top of my list of places to visit for a long time now, will be making it my mission to finally visit once the pandemic has passed! Such stunning countries with such friendly people, and incredible wildlife. I don't know a great deal about architecture or city planning, but yes, you can definitely see the differences in how streets were laid out in the comparatively young and spacious US, compared to roads here in the UK which tend to be either roads the Romans initially made, or weird, looping country lanes formed centuries ago, based on how well a horse and cart could navigate around a hill! The differences in building to keep a home warm and a home cool are pronounced too, and you guys have some beautiful, well lit houses! I think that's the feature a lot of us Brits most wish we had. But then you realise that a lot of our older buildings really had small windows, and less of them - because of the lack of heating and insulation, and also because glass used to be incredibly expensive back in those days! It's fascinating the way simple things like that influence design and the way we live.

This is exactly the kind of house I want to buy in Florida 💙 🌴 🏝
This is amazing! I cannot imagine getting out all of the bugs and that smell in there. Wow!
OMG, the entire time I just said “WOW” to myself! This house is absolutely stunning I actually started to get a little emotional for some reason 😂 I love the KITCHEN and the designed tile in the bathrooms , and that dining room area with the French doors ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ if I had the funds I would leave my life in PA just to move into this beautiful new home! You guys did an AMAZING job, there is no evidence that this was a terrible hoarder, bug infested home!
Alexis Sardina you felt a little emotional because there’s an otherworldly satisfaction when anything goes from utterly disgusting to pristine.
Ikr?! I kept saying "wow!" So loud I'd wake my cat & she'd just look at me like, "you're going to say it again, right? Should I wait...error there it is!"
This show is a marriage of Hoarders and Flip or Flop! Love it.
I forgot about flip or flop.. I loved that show
OMG. The bathroom is amazing! The whole house is so fresh and light. You and your crew totally rock!
Thank you for your support!
This place is STUNNING! I wish I could live there! You guys have outdone yourselves with this one. Even with all of the things that didn't go as expected, you persisted and pulled through in the end. Amazing!
Oh wow! This is stunning, I’m so proud of you saving this house, good on you. I honestly thought you were never going to be able save this house.
I really hope you find the best tenant to go in there. 😍

Take a shot every time you hear, "if you remember correctly," ! Love your channel, thank you for sharing!
I like how Laura said at the end that she was not going to end the video after showing off an immaculate house. She was transparent about the delays in their timeline with the roofing and plumbing, and about how difficult it was to actually make everything come together. I appreciated that.
Unbelievable! Who would’ve thought the crime scene/decomposition process is so fascinating!
The house looks even bigger with Laura standing in each room 😂 y'all check on your short friends! We can't reach stuff! 😂
Bahahahahahaha!!!
stacy sharber and then they NEVER CARE TO HELP! 😒 That's when I climb the dang rack and DARE somebody to say I shouldn't 💁♀️
@@HannahMattox My step mom and step sister are 5'2" and 5' respectively so I always try to help when I can (5'9") because I can understand the struggle
Kimberly P every short girl needs a tall girl to help her reach 😭 you're awesome ❤️

Laura seems to be a real down to earth gal with a great sense of humor especially on the job. Nice! Lol! Have fun y'all. You're one of a kind.
Damn, that place looks great. I wouldn't mind living there.
The house looks GORGEOUS! Y’all did an incredible job! From that disaster to this... WOW, just WOW.
This is an AMAZING transformation. Even knowing of the despair and the pain that this home housed, I would rent/buy in a heart beat. This beautiful home and all the spirits here deserve to be loved and taken care of.

The house turned out beautifully! I love the colors and decor. Amazing job!
Amazing transformation. Much respect for taking that on. So rewarding seeing the house looking fantastic and shine again.
It truly breaks my heart that no one could do something like you did for those two women while they were still alive. Such a saddening situation. Bless you and your team for all that you do. I hope the next family to call that place home has a happier story.
Gosh this looks amazing! Hope you guys feel proud of yourselves for making a beautiful home!
This looks great, would love a house like this - but generally English houses aren't quite this style - so I guess I'll stick to making them in the Sims instead 😂
What is it that you think is so different from English houses?
It's fascinating the way simple things like that influence design and the way we live.
but like damnnnn that transformation is the most amazing thing i’ve ever seen
Amazing job Laura. The home came out so beautifully
It's absolutely beautiful.. You did a great job fixing that disaster.
