    This woman would make a wonderful realtor. She described this house beautifully adding in tidbits of background “this is the master bedroom where the two people died.” “If you remember correctly...” 😂😂😂

    • @matuiory
      @matuiory 4 года назад +34

      i agree. i don't think any of those type of people begin it all with bad intent. I think they start with a good intention and the change and degradation i so slow and steady that they just dont notice to some extent and don't realize the final state they end up in. with trauma, financial, emotional and physical degration in older people plus some mental illness atop of it all. i makes me sad to see people ending up dying in these conditions. and i honestly don't think horders actually like where and how they live. they just went with it and that's their normal.

    • @lizajane6926
      @lizajane6926 4 года назад +15

      tommy,I think most people that love pets and want to care for as many as they can have bigger hearts than common sense and start out doing good until things get out of control,but because of their love for the animal and not wanting to re-home it,they don’t reach out for help.Also with the obvious hoarding,they didn’t want anyone to see what was going on! Some people can literally love their pets to death.It’s heartbreaking that they are in such denial that they can’t see the obvious suffering of an animal! For the ones who breed to sell and become “mills”,I think are some of the lowest,sorriest forms of human beings that need to be in jail!

    Ow, I was expecting to see Kyle's reaction of the house lol.
    I wouldn't mind living in that house, I don't care how it looked back then because everything the guys went for cleaning and re constructing it is amazing. They even got sick because of this house. They deserve that the next owner appreciates all the effort they put in and also to take care if this house better then the mom and daughter that lived there :o

Mid century Florida homes still had to meet some pretty stringent hurricane proof building codes. And the majority of the land in Florida is not terribly high over sea level which is why most (except maybe further north) don't have basements. What is it that you think is so different from English houses?

    • @scarletamazon3455
      @scarletamazon3455 4 года назад +2

      @@Outnumberedbykidsandcats British houses are generally smaller, and usually much older. You have to remember that we're a small island, compared with the sprawling US; houses are built on a smaller scale. We also preserve and continue living in old homes, including ones from the 16th century, or Victorian terraces, while my US friends tell me that it's rare to find a house for sale there that's more than a hundred years old. There are some design differences too. Most houses here were and are built with insulation in mind. Double cavity walls and double glazed windows to keep heat in, which also tends to mean fewer and smaller windows. I'd love a place with double balcony doors like in this house, and it makes sense to have that in a hot state in the US, but would require expensive double glazing to have here in the UK, and would only work if you had a large enough room and garden for it anyway.
      ETA: Almost no privately owned homes or businesses have air con either. It's rarely hot enough to warrant it. Although climate change might see that changing soon.

    • @marysdanceworld6066
      @marysdanceworld6066 4 года назад +1

      I am Australian, and I have always found it super interesting to see how houses vary from place to place!
      It think climate and cultural influence has a lot to do with it. (As said above) England has many older houses, built before the time of electric heating, so they are built to endure a cold winter. In Australia we are the opposite, so many houses in the hotter areas are built on stilts to allow airflow underneath the house to cool it down.
      Some major historical events such as the industrial revolution, and the historical need for housing to be near a water source likely shaped the housing of the more populated areas in England too. Newer places like Australia and the US were still very young in the times before transport and other technologies, so they have have been able to plan out their land distribution a little more to fit in with the modern lifestyle.
      In saying this though, I spent a month exploring England as a kid and had the time of my life!!! Your historical sites are breathtaking!!!

      @@marysdanceworld6066 Aaaw, happy you had such a good time here! Australia and New Zealand have been at the top of my list of places to visit for a long time now, will be making it my mission to finally visit once the pandemic has passed! Such stunning countries with such friendly people, and incredible wildlife.
      I don't know a great deal about architecture or city planning, but yes, you can definitely see the differences in how streets were laid out in the comparatively young and spacious US, compared to roads here in the UK which tend to be either roads the Romans initially made, or weird, looping country lanes formed centuries ago, based on how well a horse and cart could navigate around a hill! The differences in building to keep a home warm and a home cool are pronounced too, and you guys have some beautiful, well lit houses! I think that's the feature a lot of us Brits most wish we had. But then you realise that a lot of our older buildings really had small windows, and less of them - because of the lack of heating and insulation, and also because glass used to be incredibly expensive back in those days! It's fascinating the way simple things like that influence design and the way we live.
