When you think you have all the furniture you need, here comes this cute little sofa you must try to make!!! Thank you so much for sharing your talent with your viewers, great tutorial 👏👏👏👏👏
Dorothy Hubbard awww thank you!!! Haha no amount of mini furniture is ever enough for me either. I browse Pinterest for home decor stuff and I'm like "I need that in mini!" 😂
I’ve always been fascinated by miniature furniture since I was a young girl, and I never tire of watching you make your beautiful creations. I love it so much. In fact, I think I just decided to permanently devote time to do so. I cannot deny myself any longer! Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful designs. You’re wonderful. 💖
OMG you make it look soooo easy that I have made a piano and looked just like yours....:) Can't wait to make this, the turn table and more. Love your videos also because you get right to the point and not alot of talking about everything out side of the project, thank you.
You are simply amazing, Cath! The instruction, the details, the measurements. Thank you ever so much for enriching my life with miniature craft projects! You bring me life. Thank you!
kimberleygrace hehe you're too sweet Kimberley! I'm so glad you find the info useful! There aren't enough mini instruction videos out there so I'm more than happy to help fill the gap 😊
Nice tutorial! You inspired me to try it. I made mine 9" long to seat 3 fashion dolls. Materials needed: xacto knife or other sharp blade -1/4" thick foam core board, 15" x 20" (a pretty standard size) -thin cotton or polyester batting -fabric glue (personally, I like Beacon fabric glue; Walmart) -some kind of lightweight fabric in a color you like - I found a nice piece at the second hand store; I'd suggest getting at least 1/4 yd (I make mistakes...) -wood stain - optional 1. seat base - cut 2 pcs: 6 1/4" x 2 1/2" rectangle out of foam core board; glue together 2. back - cut another 2 pcs, 6 1/4" x 2 1/4" and glue together 3. arms - cut 4 pcs 2" x 3" (you could cut a long 3" wide pc, then cut four 2" pcs from that) - glue 2 together to make one arm 4. Seat cushions - cut another 4 pcs, 2 1/4" x 2 3/4"; glue 2 together to make one back cushion & the other 2 for the other cushion. (3:28:00) add a bit more batting to the front of each before upholstering for a poofier look. 5. Back cushions - 2 pcs: 1 1/2" x 2 3/4" Do NOT glue these together! (4:00:00 extra batting pc is 8" x 1") 6. 1/4" square dowel - cut 2 pcs to 7 1/4" long 7. 2 pcs of dowel cut two 2 1/2" long pcs 8. Legs - 4 pcs of dowel cut to 1" long 9. (4:40:00) assembling the wooden base and legs Hope this helps! If there are any errors, please let me know and I will edit.
You are so amazing!! My sister has dreamed of having a dollhouse since she was a little girl. I've been building a small display one for her 40th as a surprise. Your tutorials have been a HUGE help!! Thank you!
This looks soooo good and it seems sturdy enough to last a long time. I'm making a miniature set of my favourite show and this helps tremendously. Thank you
I love this process video. It is easier to cover everything and then connect them together. Thanks so much for taking the time to make these how to videos. They're super helpful! 😉
Hi The Square to Spare, Good day to you. This DIY Miniature Couch (No Sew) was Super FUN to watch and your couch turned out AWESOME!. Your attention to detail and easy to follow instructions make it even better. EXCELLENT Job! Thank you for sharing. I'm really glad you're still doing these Wonderful creative DIY videos. You are one of my Favorite You Tube Crafters. Take care, wishing you the very best, and I hope you have a wonderful weekend. liked, and shared as always. Peace & Joy :D
Omg, this would go absolutely perfect in my little sister's dollhouse! You make it looks to easy, I just have to make it! Also, can I say, your nails are looking fabulous!
This looks easy enough for me to do and I've got all the materials. If I wanted to size this up to Barbie or American Girl size using your 1:12 scale measurements as my starting point, would I just double the measurements to get Barbie 1:6 scale? What about AG doll size which is 1:3 scale? Would I need to take your measurements and triple them? I truly hope I don't confuse anyone else reading your post. But I'm new at this and I want to get it right. Thanks in advance!
Hi Mary, go to Small Stuff's Print Minis and they have a scale calculator. You put in the original size (the one given here) of the piece and then the scale (1:12 in this case) you want and it gives you the answer. www.printmini.com/whatscale.html. If the link doesn't work from youtube copy it and paste on your web browser and it'll work. I just tested the link and it worked.
Love that you did an upholstered piece!!! I have been considering doing a couch for a while, and you have inspired me once again... Such a talented lady you are!!!
Pamela Palmarini awww thank you so much Pamela! I'm so happy to hear that and I hope you have fun doing your couch project :) I bet it'll turn out amazing!
I would have loved having RUclips tutorials like this when I was a kid, I used to make all my Barbie Doll house furniture..and yup, t was pretty wonky looking. Guess I must have figured out what I was doing because I decorate homes professionally now and often create decor furniture when I can't find what I'm looking for in stores. lol. Still, it would have been fun...nice video, thanks!
Dang girl, what can't you make?!😍 I've made the guitar, an I'm digging it.am glad that I found this channel, cuz now I wanna make a recreation of our home for my daughter, she's 1yrs old,and by the time she gets old enough, it'll be made for her enjoyment and great way to teach about the house too.Keep up the great work,I got my new hobby. 👍😎
I’ve been looking for easy and cute dollhouse videos and absolutely love these! I’d love to see more! Little accessories or even a kitchen. Thanks so much for your videos!
Could you please put your measurements in the info box or on a list during the video, so I can pause and print. I love your projects and I have recreated some in 1:6 scale for play dolls. I really look forward to your videos.
Making it now. I couldn't find any of the materials so I decided to change a few. Just a tip. Don't use plywood. It is a lot of extra work. Also, don't use bulky soft material, it gives the couch a puffy look, not what you're going for. If you're like me and do different measurements, try to keep this is mind when buying fabric.
this is a compliment: your voice reminds me of bmo from adventure time. it makes me so happy. bmo has the cutest friendliest most comforting voice. 🥹😩🤞🏻
Why does my fabric glue not work for this!? It immediately comes apart. I’ve tried several different kinds of fabric and let it sit, the fabric peels right off!! What am I doing wrong?
Loving this tutorial. I am making it from cardboard and it's coming together! Thanks for your awesome tutorials. I quite often watch them just as they are so therapeutic, but I adore making them too.
Thank you for this great video tutorial ❤️. I love this sofa, the colour of the fabric you covered it with is so pretty. It looks like periwinkle blue or maybe lavender on my cell phone monitor, I must get some similar fabric for my miniature sofa. Miniature curtains would look beautiful in this colour too.

What scale is this? Is it 1:6 (barbie scale)?

Thanks! This was helpful! I’m building props for a stop motion movie and this is my first time doing so. This has been extremely useful!
Technically, you can just do this with plywood and make a life size couch
It’ll be rock solid though 💩
Why do we buy anything 😂
I prefer plywood as well
@kishmorris honestly it's for convenience the materials are cheaper if you buy them on your own but you pay extra for the permission of the work and the work being done (I know you probably didn't want an awnser but I really wanted to share please don't take offense)
