I'm glad they remembered to add rubber roofing membrane over the treated decking base frame. That will shed the water and ice off of the wood under structure and steel and help it to last many extra years. I've always used that method on everything wood outside , even on porches and decks. It makes good sense.
How were the boards on the metal beams secured to the beams? Almost every time these bridge construction videos will skip an important detail like that.
Wooden boards are through bolted to the steel beam. The steel was ordered with predrilled hole for that purpose. Deck boards are then screwed to decking base boards with heavy duty screws. I think they were HeadLOK screws.
There are wooden stringers bolted to the top of the steel beams. Bolts go through predrilled holes done by the steel supplier. The decking boards are then screwed to the wooden stringers with a heavy duty screws. I think they were HeadLOK screws by FastenMaster
