- 1984 electro classic on the Electrobeat label. Although Chris "The Glove" Taylor usually gets sole credit, the vinyl itself credits Taylor, Dave Storrs, Karlos Z and Victor Flores.
If you want to know where the samples come from you could do worse than look for a superhero-related Jan and Dean record. Not sure about the Grand Old Duke Of York samples though, any ideas?
Incidentally, "Itchiban" is Japanese for "number one". Видеоклипы
I really can't understand how there are only like a dozen comments to this record it is a foundation stone of Electro music is anyone playing it now? Okay there is mot much to say I have heard the more "advanced" scratching and cutting of the so-called new school and yes they are doing things but the synchronisation, the timing and with so many different things in there going on, go back to this record so often it's a real inspiration
Yes, they were there! Dave did all the bass and keys+engineering. Vic and Karloz did the edits...I made the beat and cuts, vocals etc...all from a box of random records in Dave Storrs closet lol!!!! Great times.
Legend in the house! Thanks for clearing that up, I'm guessing Victor is the same guy who worked on Breakmixer?
I remember when I first listened to this in my room with my Walkman stereo headphones. Absolute music revaluation..awesome
I thought this tune was amazing when I heard it as 12 years old and I feel the same way about it now, but I know about music and can explain why. There's really nothing better than spinning this on a nice day on a good system and then picking what to play with it, which for me is nearly always Techno Scratch.
You absolute Legend Chris🙌
I still play this record in my DJ sets!!! 🤘🏾 @christheglove
