Still a banger after all these years 🧨✨ Pure genius giving me goosebumps over youthful memories. And still got me lockin & poppin at 52! You can’t stop a good feeling. 🔊✨💯🏆
I remember watching this when I was 8 years old in the theater. When I heard the "ahh" part at 4:13, I remember getting goosebumps. Electro Rock had just won the battle.
First heard this on the breakdance movie in 1984 in gatley picture house Manchester UK aged 14 with a packed cinema full of breakbeat boppers.. what memories
These MoFo's: Jam Master Jay, The Glove, Joe Cooly, Marley Marl, Egyptian Lover, Eric B., Terminator X, and probably 20-30 others I can't even remember were WAAAAY ahead of their time. As much as they were "hip hop," they were also the start of electronic/techno in a way too. Real early (I mean more like the late 70's and early-to-mid 80's) had a tad of New Wave in it. Not all of it of course, some was more "hard core" but while it was it's own thing it did take here and there. Just look at the hair and spikes of real early hip hop and break dancing.
Yes sir yes sir, thanks for your comments Barbara. Techno, New Wave and Hip Hop...part of the music from late 70's to early 80's were interacting (with one another) Kraftwerk, YMO and many more... DJ Afrika Bambaataa play that music. Especially "B-2 Unit - Riot in Lagos" had a major influence on electro hip hop.
Watching Missing In Action (1984) I recognized the "Reckless" beat in the background ( on my Breakin soundtrack too of-course) ...... and had to find out what the name of this was -- Thanks now I know!
Wot A balanced crew..Still standin' up 2 the test of time & true legends of the beats & scratches & rap..wrapped & locked in2 times & scales of super heavy weight 2 epic proportions 😎✌💓
+maccagrabme this one in the video was the version from the film and overall had way more production to the original instrumental version,, the polydor has vocals and the beat is totally different as it was remixed,,, wouldn't you agree that the beat of this instrumental is absolutely kickin??
ElectroWayne yep exactly, it's funny I thought I was the only one that noticed each drum beat was split left and right causing incredible stereo effect,, David Storrs was ahead of his time creating this track with an early model Fairlight CMI
Does anybody remember the dude with the hoodie on that was bobbing to the beat outside before the scene goes to inside the club (Radiotron).... He was on beat, getting Off, but was most likely High🤣🤦🏾♂️ That was some Good Editing🤣CLASSIC
Just what the doctor ordered,i so remember this,im 45 now,one of my fav films"Breakdance" Tks DJ,just found you by chance, you have fantastic music here.:)
I was the same bro... all these tunes so accessible now. Can you imagine having to humm this tune in a record store? believe me i tried and failed all those years ago..lol
@@smiledsteelydan I would describe it like "sort of like Reckless..... but kind of....... not almost the same........ but something similar yet different." People would say Reckless and I'd be like "no it's not..... slightly different.......well definitely different but near close to it." For years that was my description and people look at me like I was crazy.
@@smiledsteelydan I couldn't even hum it I would try to think of the tune I would draw a blank and I could only remember it right when I was watching the damn movie. Right before it would start playing then I could mysteriously remember it. Selective memory shit
Best record I've heard for a while. Gutted to have missed this fresh crisp biscuit in the eighties though hough ough ugh ug u - VANZ- DA BANDITZ. RIP FUN DBZ
This track got me reminiscing about Electro Rock secret weapon, Ana Lollipop Sanchez in the Breakin' first battle displaying her Locking moves incredibly.ruclips.net/video/Z2guxhefWrQ/видео.html
hello Barbara I read your comments electronic funk is a feeling in that spirit sound was discovered in London in Germany for example kraftwerk brought this spirit to America they are the finding father's of that electro funk in I eat sleep electro in this is very weak to me compared to what I have in my DJ bag
@DJ Sugar E. - Did you upload this from a Taxidermi pressing? Always led to believe that they had pressing faults and the only way to get a good quality version of the Tibetan Jam Inst. was to track down the orig. white label/test press..... Can you confirm?
Still a banger after all these years 🧨✨

Dave Storrs
After 20+ years I come across this gem.
First heard this on "Missing In Action" back in the 80's
Me too snd that’s when I IMMEDIATELY hunted down the record store and asked if there was A soundtrack to this film, just so I could get this track lol
typical Bangkok street music lol
Watching right now. Had to look this up.
Just watched it, paused at the scene and went hunting for this track. Such a banger!
Ice t during breakin the movie.

You can thank Arthur Baker for all that...
It seems like the moment they made money off hip hop they abandoned electro and never looked back which is a real shame imo
Punk & hip hop were one & kraftwerk hyped everyone up etc...... shit goes way back
Ice t has done gangsta rap , techno , metal
And even acted in tv and movies !
And watered himself down in the process.. 😅

Mark - Thanks for your comments. Yeah, Poppin Pete, Poppin Taco, Shabadoo and Boogaloo Shrimp... battle scene is very Cool :)
Pop n Taco and Poppin' Pete took a real cheap shot at Boogaloo Shrimp & Shabba Doo with Lollipop on this joint
For the synth nuts out there, the "yuhuu" sample came with the Fairlight CMI sampler.
Are you referring to the part at 4:13?
+Miami 808 Actually no. 0:17. That's a Fairlight sample.
Oh okay. Thanks.
Badass to the bone😮😮😮😮
I have this 12" vinyl. The version of Reckless on the other side of this one is FAR BETTER than the Breakin soundtrack version
Thank you for your commment. I bought this in 1992... about three dollars :-)
