While preparing to compete in his first Olympics, Asian-American gymnast Yul Moldauer says he hopes the Games can serve as a platform for him to raise awareness about anti-Asian hate and the need to break racial stereotypes. The 24-year-old Team USA gymnast was born in South Korea and adopted by an American couple as an infant. Moldauer says representing the US at the Olympics is special to him because the country gave him “a second life”. In response to the racism he's faced, he said: “It doesn't matter what you look like, if you're going to represent our country, you should be proud of them.”
