How to Install Custom Fonts for Linux Apps on Chrome OS

  • If you are on a Chromebook or using ChromeOS Flex (or another Chrome OS variant) and you would like to use custom fonts in your Linux applications, it is actually pretty easy to do. Also font related, you can check out the free Font Inspector web app I made: fontinspector.ape-apps.com/

    this was actually the clearest and most concise video on this matter ever! sadly im still struggling to do this, im trying to install fonts to use within krita

      I don't know if this will work, but in your Linux Files folder, create a new directory called .fonts (needs to have the dot at the beginning) and put the font in there (you probably need to enable hidden folders). I have read that some KDE based apps (which I think Krita is) can read fonts from that directory, but again I have not tried this so idk

      @@BrandonStecklein thnkyou so much for even replying! so i had no share folder at all after loading linux up for the first time and im sure previously i had managed it somehow sadly a while ago and now im just having no luck at all. doesnt seem to have worked as suggested but ill keep trying. again super appreciative of the reply. i may even just try inkscape instead.

    Hey I was wondering how is Android Studio in flex. I have tried it in fydeos and it wasn't great

      It's not too bad. The emulator is dog slow though, but if you have a physical phone for testing it works,
