Hey everyone, not sure if it is RUclips's compression rate or if it is something I did when Rendering this video, but it seems very grainy and definitely not HD. I reviewed this several times before posting and it was fine. Let me know if you think the video quality is sub-par (shit) 👍

Thank you my friend. To be honest, this sheath started out as a kydex/leather hybrid, but I wasn’t happy with the results so I decided to make it all leather with the characteristics of a kydex sheath. Hence the eyelets…they offer the multiple possibilities for carry solutions

Hey Outlaw... you sent some tips my way on my last sheath video. I'm looking for another.... what is that oil you used prior to staining? Do you think it works better than water for even staining and are there any effects like longer dry time or ability to take mink oil after??

Hi Paul…that is neatsfoot oil and it does aid in a more even distribution of dye as well as penetration into the leather. It is not necessary and water can have the same effect. I let the leather sit for an hour or so after applying dye. You can absolutely use mink oil as part of your final finish prep. I’m actually going to start using mink oil on some of my leather projects. My name is Shane and you can hit me up anytime with questions. I appreciate you watching the video. 👍

@@outlawbladesandleather Thanks Shane, I think I'll stick with the more cost effective "water" as we all know... we probably already spend enough on our hobbies.

@@Angerhofer-hunt-fish-ride heck yeah, I get it! I don’t always use neatsfoot oil. Actually I normally use water on the leather before applying the dye. I just happened to find a jug of neatsfoot in my stockpile of junk that I didn’t know I had. It’s gotta be at least 10+ years old because the price tag on it was $6.50. Things were cheaper back then.
