That's one of those things I truly miss, is going to the arcade Kids will NEVER understand what it was like when SF2 came out, and there were lineups to play it
Oh yeah, the feeling was better when you didn't get beat versus like 10 different people and then all of a sudden your mom appears in the arcade place yelling at your because you haven't brought home the TORTILLAS!!!. Ohhh so much fond memories.
I used to catch the first bus home from school, get off half way near the arcade, watch others play Street Fighter for about an hour, then jump on the last school bus the rest of the way home. Always loved this theme music and the complicated personality of Vega.
Not just that dude. The video game music from the early to mid 90s is so special. There's obviously been incredible music since then but the fact that the Streets of Rage 2 soundtrack is as good as it is with the limtations of those systems...for example...is amazing to me.
Nope, this music is thrilling, it has lots of tension, gives a feeling of danger and an urge to save your for life in a fight against an assassin with a claw. This reminded me of the battle between Ken and Claws (Vega/Balrog) in Street Fighter 2 Victory anime
Vega’s music was completely inspired by Flamenco guitar music, of course created using chipset sfx and you have finally returned it back to its original influential form... full circle

@@T--xk3hf Indeed. One of the best soundtracks of all time and all still sound fantastic to this day. In fact the whole game holds up extremely well especially for it's age. When I played SF2 I always thought Vega's theme was electronically emulating Flamenco music. It's great to hear it beautifully played on an actual guitar... Superb!
I started listening. paused it, got the ladder from the garden, and then went up into to my loft. I came back 5 minutes later with my venecian mask, some old Wolverine cosplay claws, a fake rose to grip between my teeth, and an early Akiman picture of Chun Li.
