- Pamela Paul, editor of The New York Times Book Review, moderates a conversation with two of Britain’s most beloved and iconic voices - Academy Award- and Golden Globe-winning actor and screenwriter Emma Thompson, and best-selling, award-winning author, Ian McEwan. Thompson stars in the upcoming film “The Children Act,” adapted by McEwan from his own novel about a British High Court judge who, in the midst of a marital crisis, must rule on a life-changing legal case concerning the survival of a teenage boy. Join Thompson and McEwan for a riveting conversation about challenging our belief systems, forging profound connections, and getting to the core of what constitutes right and wrong.

Where are part 2-99? 😢 No but honestly, their wisdom, especially Emma's, I didn't know Ian McEwan before but he is cool, too.. .the way they heal and raise hope simply with words is beautifully crushing and just a gift to the world. I came from a 30 min interview and wished it to be twice as long, and now I realise that I could listen to Emma for DAYS on end.... so complex, so profound, so magnificent. ❤️ A big Thanks to the New York Times for making this wonderful interview possible!
Starts at 13:37
You da real MVP
Wonderful and interesting , thank you emma and ian and interviewer lady
The audio is so quiet, and there wasn't CC, that couldn't last to hear the 1:22:27 minutes of it. And I really really LIKE listening to Emma Thompson.
Vincine Fallica I agree the audio is not good. I found it easier on my phone than my computer
Emma is a wonderful person to interview but the deadpan delivery of every question from the moderator takes away from the exchange. Perhaps because everyone is freezing cold.
Ian’s shade on Trump was delicious. Lol
Please, add interview with Lykke Li!

Ian is very rude!!!
It certainly seems like that yes, but it's a British thing where, it's very tongue-in-cheek, it's his sense of humour I think.
