Is this an 8 key classical flute? Do you ever actually use the keys? (I've heard some ppl say irish flute players never use them, but others say the opposite.)

It’s a 6-key Irish flute. I actually use my keys fairly often, but that’s just my personal preference. There’s a lot of music you can play without them.
