- The on-screen button to take a snap is fine, but in some angles, it kinda sucks. Have no fear Snapchatters! Use your volume button to snap pictures and videos when using Snapchat.
Volume up and down will both work, whatever floats your boat bro. This is a universal shortcut for most camera apps by the way. This will work for both Android and iOS/iPhone. Stop taking those blurry selfies, hit the volume button pretty lady!

FIXED. Those of you having the IPHONE volume button as volume and not snap photo problem. I’ve had a 7+ for years. Today stopped working to take snaps, only adjusted volume. Resetting the phone worked for me (power off, power on)

Depends on the phone. You can usually turn off the volume button for photos in your phone settings.

@@EthanP2002 everyone has had this issue now its just snapchat needs to fix it or implement the fix. since its been so long that they havent done anything about it, many people are assuming snapchat has removed that feature on purpose. we don't know why.

Snapchat removed the feature and has no shutter button anymore. You have to be able to reach the button in the middle of the screen in order to take a picture… there is no way to fix the issue so I can no longer take any selfies because my thumb cannot reach that far without dropping the phone.

I have the iphone X and a few days ago this was working but as of yesterday, it stopped working for me and every time i press the side volume button, it acts as a volume control rather than "capture" photo.
Mine isn’t working either as of today! I have an IPhone 7 Plus... I used the volume buttons to take pics all the time and it’s pissing me off that it’s not working now.

depends on the phone. try going into your system camera and settings. see if there is an option to use the Volume Keys to take pictures.
i have Iphone X and it doesn't work! If I open the camera and take a picture without a special filter it works. But when I take a filter it doesn't work anymore. That is so.... Any ideas????
