Where should we go on our next adventure? 🗺 Let us know in the comments below! 👇
Have you guys ever done portions of the eurovelo routes? Eurovelo 1, 2 and 12 go through Britain.
Eryri.
If you ever make it across the pond, I can recommend hundreds of routes through Virginia and the Carolinas. There's everything from forest service roads to greenways.
Imagine that you got guests from abroad and want to take them for sightseeing and have them be quiet in the evening, ideally retiring to bed early.
Choose few interesting areas, plan accordingly, show us the rides, save routes on Strava. "GCN pre-guided tours", that's a pilot name for series :)
La Paz... great bike riding there, like the longest urban downhill track 😅
I actually like this team. Bring Amy back for more, she's fun 🙂
And James, I notice, has picked up MTB words and skills. Blake's brightest pupil and real MTB material (and occasional cannon fodder). 🥰
He's a quick learner 😉
@@gcn He's generally quick. A speed addict 🤫
Can you please upload the gpx route!
We need a Hank and Amy adventure where Amy tries to break Hank on her choice of riding! Her energy is fantastic!!
The energy of these two going head to head! 👀
More Amy please!!!
Love Amy’s enthusiasm; nice one folks.
Would you like to see her back on the channel? What should we do next?
She’s a great addition to the channel.
@gcn she's already given you the answer, a video on crashing without hurting yourself!
@gcn - totally! It would be nice to have another female presenter and she’s got enthusiasm in spades!
@@olivernorthern6904 sounds like a "crash course".
Great video. I love this. Amy throwing shade on Connors bike handling skills made me lol. The genuine enthusiasm of all three of you is infectious.
Not much better than a wicked Gravel ride with mates! You should check out our 'The King and Beers' film on GCN+ for more of the same! 👉 gcn.eu/tkab
I thought ex pro Conor took the shade very quietly. Good on him. By the way, you can probably tell that I've never used the term 'shade' before.
@@playandteach did well for a beginner
You should definitely get Amy on more, she's great
Love Amy’s enthusiasm . She has some skills too!! I would love to see more of Amy in gravel rides . Loved this video
We'll see what we can do! Amy smashed it 🙌
Most energetic video from GCN
Loved watching every bit of it
Amy’s energy is a different level
Amy or Hank... Who is packing the most energy? 👀
Nice to see my local gravel paths get some love. Whilst not intending to scare anyone from doing this route it is worth noting that the Greenway path from Stratford is a common bike mugging spot as well as along some of the Walthamstow Wetlands canal paths. It's never happened to me and I've cycled this area *a lot*. As with anywhere stay vigilant, you'll have a great time!
This has to be GCN video of the month! Amy's infectious enthusiasm! Hank's unbreakable energy. Conor's ability to find puddles with his front wheel! Cows! Bring Si on the next London Gravel run! Let's see Amy team up with Hank and Blake! I love the fun and joy in this video!
Love Amy's enthusiasm and infectious energy and smile. What an amazing add to any GCN video y'all can add her to.
I live in east London and ride the gravel canal paths up into trails in Epping forest all the time. Fun to see some regular haunts featured here! Surprised I didnt see you out there 😂
You've got a great area to ride it! Do you think London is a good gravel location?
@@gcn such a bit city that it really depends which part you're in. East and North east is good for gravel. I think gravel bikes make for good all rounders for commuters in London regardless of location though.
Yep, I recognised bits of Walthamstow and Chingford there.
GCN Definitely Needs To Bring Amy Back…her energy is contagious, I was having fun right through the screen and she’s a natural in front of the camera, Awesome job GCN Another Epic Ride
Brilliant video and Amy was just so good! Awesome skills, put the boys to shame and absolutely natural presenter. We need more Amy videos ❤
This was great! Bring Amy on for another ride!
Absolutely!
Super fun watching the crew simply c*cking about, without any concern for watts or competition. Just having fun riding bikes with mates.
This is why so many of us do this: fun.
Amy is a proper ball breaker too! Great fit.
Finally a buddy for Manon and surely new presenter -Amy. Big smiles throwing the bike around. Cmon GCN offer her a job!!
Amy is a natural presenter and an awesome rider! Great video, you should maybe create a tourist route on boris bikes we can follow on our next London stopover. Keep up the great work!!
You'll be able to find lots of routes in and around London. Maybe check on Strava for some inspiration?
Amy definitely brought a unprecedented joy and fun of just riding bikes to GCN!
Sometimes it could seem a bit stiff, talking about FTPs, hard climbs and aero gains vs weight - in the end cycling should just be fun...
btw: from one 2m guy to another - dropper posts are great to get the saddle out of the way so you don't have to get off the bike when riding underneath trees.
One of my favorite videos Amy needs to be on more videos - she has amazing energy and is just as crazy as Alex!
Great to hear you enjoyed the video! We're keen to get Amy back, what would you like to see her do? 👀
Loved the vid Son-of-Hank's-Dad, Giant Leprechaun and Amy!! Amy just didn't recognize that Conor's experience at Unbound elevated his skills so that he could tackle an urban 'gravel ride' with a road bike. That being said I AM surprised that the spot of mud almost threw him. Oodles of fun!!!!
I think this is one of my favourite GCN videos ever. Between the editing and the dynamics of the trio- great vibes.
Amy was super cool! her spirit is awesome! Love her!
Awesome, energetic riding video! Reading the comments I’m in good company…bring Amy back for another adventure! She’s great!!!
Amy shows Conor how take off-road corners(faster) is a must-video, surely.
Great video! More Amy! Shes awesome!!
Amy's natural! hopefully more future vids with her!
Loved watching this adventure unfold! The animations of Hank, Conor, Alec, and Amy at the beginning were quite cool too ☺️!!
We love animation Hank... He's easier to work with 👀
Amy got mad skillz! ❤
More of these 3 please, I love Amy!!!
The editing on this vid is so fun! Great work 👍
hope Amy returns for another episode. She is fun and she handles the bike in a very fancy manner. It's surprising how much one of the largest cities of the world can change in not much distance
I tried this route a couple of weeks ago on my winter bike with 32mm semi-slick gravel tyres. Let's just say the section between Ponder's End and Whipps Cross was pretty much unrideable for my setup. Had to walk for most of the section, but the first half and the last quarter of the route was very much enjoyable. I know the limits of both my bike and my skills 😂.
Hahaha it can be hard to find that perfect gravel bike setup for all rides! ... Maybe that is part of the fun?
@gcn as my winter bike is technically an old cyclocross frame, the maximum tyre size is 700x32mm with mudguards and I mainly ride on the road, so yeah it was the best I could do with the bike I had.
Wow! Look what I missed while I was away on vacation! Stellar content again gcn!! I think this is one of your best videos yet, due in no small part to Amy who is so confident, competent, knowledgeable and obviously revels bike riding(akin to Hank). Her tips to Conor were spot on and helpful to us all! Thank you gcn for mixing it up and having a female lead! I am totally inspired to hope on my bike and do the same here in Hamilton Ontario! Also I absolutely loved the cool editing/nature shots/closeups/ transitions. Gcn film and edit crew you continue to amaze and inspire! Well done all! Let's have more of Amy (if she's game) teaching Conor Cyclocross skills! Her casual reference to 'crashing properly ' has me intrigued! Well don all! MORE PLEASE!
Riding bikes like we used to when we were kids. You love to see it.
Amy was brilliant, great video!
Love Amy's comment about learning to crash on an MTB. Great piece of advice. Works for a city ebike too (you do not want to crash on one if you don't want to find a bike mech bike packing at 5 o' clock in the rain on a massive hill and you don't know where you're going).
Would you like to see us do a video on safety way to crash?
@@gcn Absolutely, both on ordinary bike and mountain. I find as a m newby, I'm terrified of crashing (she's right you don't want to crash on the road), but on the m, it's inevitable, it happens often. It's totally different approaches.
Fresh edit. I liked the cartoon intro - felt refreshingly different the usual content
Amy put you guy's to shame with her biking skills... she's great fun... and her enthusiasm is infectious
I’ve been telling anyone who’ll listen about this for years, there’s some great gravel routes in London.
There's some hidden gems that's for sure!
I live South West London - and so easy to get out in to Surrey, and some epic routes 👍
The greenway is an awesome route, once you reach the olympic park there is a nicely maintained road next to the marathon track which is pretty quite.
Marshgate ln which turns into Sidings st then Carpenters road which loops back to a bridge under Marshgate ln.
Another vote for bring Amy back! She's fun.
I like Amy, she brings the same energy as Alec, I love it "man".
Amy was awesome. Bring her back for more
Living and cycling in North London, these are the routes I take on my leasure and commuter rides on almost a daily basis.
It's brilliant being the ultra competitive environment of Central London and then just hitting the river Lea and getting away from it all. Real adrenaline and complete zen on the same ride.
Fantastic! More Amy adventures
Love the editing on this! Tekkerz kit looks awesome!
Amy fit in real well! Great episode all 💯💯
Amy puts the fun back in GCN. Cracking episode.
just another reason I enjoy GCN. Great ride for the average guy or gal who enjoys gravel but lives near a city. Looked like a fun ride and it was fun to watch. Curious about this type of riding around other major cities like Amsterdam, Berlin, or even Paris. Thanks
Amy was great! And London is still as infested with cars as I remember. Paris has improved tremendously in the meantime.
please do more like this! awesome content like always
We can't wait to do more! In the meantime, check out our 'King and Beers' epic US Gravel ride on GCN+ 👉 gcn.eu/tkab
This is my favorite type of GCN video. Riding cool routes in cities I don’t get to ride in.
Next video 'can you teach an old dog new tricks', Amy teaches Connor how to corner at speed
Might need a two parter 😬
Amy’s coral 🪸 colored Canyon was a beauty ❤🎉
Amusing to see part of my regular commute profiled as a gravel route. I ~ 35 miles out along the river lea / stort and only resort to the road for ~ 2 miles into Bank. It's also an amazing route when the nights draw in - pitch black along the tow path is a real experience, highly recommended!
Keep following the tow path up past the wetlands and you have a nice gravel path for many miles, plus you can then join it up with some great trails in Epping forest and then the Olympic park - the greenway to dock lands, and then from there cycle path it all the way back along the Thames. Also Connor pronunciation of Wapping?! Haha.
Great to see you riding some of my local trails. London has it all
Living vicariously through you guys!
Amy’s energy is infectious
Amy was great company and had impressive skills there, nice route looks like real fun , I like random routes you can do a loop around Manchester airport it’s 16 miles to get around it or even Loch Ness it’s huge it would take 70 miles to loop that with nearly 5000 ft elevation!
Great video, do more videos like this one with Amy. 👍
Great video. Amy is fantastic!
Love it guys 🔥 bring Amy back definitely her Englert is unmatched
More Amy please!
Amy sounds like she could be a presenter! Well done all!
Ya know there's a Genesis song titled the"Battle of Epping Forest". Also nice to meet you Amy hope to see you more on GCN
I lived in London couple years back, and I regret to this day I hadn't discovered cycling yet back then. Thanks for this vid, makes up a little bit.
Amy was a nice additional for this type adventure.
Really like Amy ! Should feature her as a standard presenter !!
It's at least the second video demonstrating Connor's inability to navigate any water obstacles, even the tiniest ones 🤣
Are giants afraid of water... 🤔
I live in east London and I do Stratford/Hackney Marshes route few times a week, sometimes also Epping Forest.
Nice to see you guys hitting my local trails.
I love Amy's philosophy on crashing!!!
Good to see you cycling in my part of the world. It's a great route along the Lee navigation and into Epping Forest. Just look out for the marshy bits at the South. Lots of gravel riding out to the South East of London too. And another great presentation from Conner.
I know that area very well and Epping forest has some great trails, the surrounding area is very popular with cyclist in general with lots of group rides, the forest can get busy on the weekends at peak times with dog walkers and family's and I avoided these times when possible. I personally never liked cycling on the canal paths just to busy. You could have also knocked off one of Simon Warrens 100 greatest climbs "Mott Street" if you are in the area...
You can explore new routes in London every week and never be done.
I cycled parts of this route a couple of weeks ago, and last weekend cycled through posh Chelsea.
Next weekend going down to Beckenham and Bromley.
One of the best videos you've done.
Great content. Finding the country in the city, a most worthy pursuit, especially when so many cities are putting resources into creating green space and green ways. 👍
Just finished my Richmond Park road ride with the Velocity Racing wheelchairs... and now this has inspired me to find some gravel NOW!!!
Nice one!
London is the greenest city in Europe. I love that it confounds people’s opinion of it.
Living where I live in Southern California, sometimes we have to make gravel rides up from what little bits we have nearby if you don't want to have to drive somewhere to find it.
Fire episode guys! Great scenery along with a mandatory cafe stop!
Always got to have a cafe stop! 🙌
I am diggin’ Amy’s bike! I, too, have the Grizl in that same color-grape! Name the bike Ellie from Up because of the grape pop bottle cap badge. Adventure is out there, and Ellie has taken me on some great gravel adventures.
Hollow Pond, Epping Forest - 1980, first time I'd ever seen BMX trials - superb, only 2 photos.
Looks like a fun ride, and Pure Comedy on an unintentional level... basically; "Blimey, we rode a bike path around the city!"
@3:49 was Connor about to call London the Crapital? 😂
Love videos (and rides) like this, nothing crazy but lots of fun and different scenery to enjoy!
awesome video, u need to have her back for more videos 👌👌👌🙌🙌🙌🙌🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲
What a fun ride. Loved this adventure. Always nice to explore places hidden under your nose.
Haha you came to my ends, finally! I'm convinced London is one of the best places to ride a gravel bike in the world.
"An hour into the ride and we are finally out of London" (they are actually 5 miles from the centremost point of London, not even half way to the edge of that part of north / northeastern London, which is one of the narrowest bits of London's radius (they would be less than a third out from the centre in most other directions!). I love it when outsiders spout this kind of ridiculous twaddle.
More of it please, all three are fab! Doesn't matter where you going... ;)
Damn that was fun to watch. .great dynamics in this team.. please bring them back anywhere. .
Please can you share a GPX file of the route? It looked great!
Amy is da bomb!
What a great fun video GCN!!! Keep them coming. How about some more USA Gravel!!!
im buying a gravel bike tomorrow and im even more excited now...I recently got a new road bike but I keep on getting punctures when riding of road. its time to go GRAVEL
Nice change of pace video. Great fun
You are cycling some of my standard routes up the Lea! I do it on 32mm road tyres, but it does tend to result in punctures in winter. I ride tubeless, so most of the time I’m OK.
Up Mott Street is the goal on a road bike.
And I do the bit South to the Thames!
Great video! South East London gravel next please!
