Hasbro's marketing strategy today seems like, they sell you the variant first before the actual figure people want. Cause they figured that sales of variants after the main figure takes a dip. Kinda sleazy cause they are taking advantage of the love the fans have for these figures.

See the Ai tony I appreciate cause I missed out on the 80th anniversary one. So I bought it and customised the chest reactor and the eyes and mouth to look like a comic accurate Ironman as opposed to an Alex Ross realistic look. That’s not I’ll will to Alex, he’s an extremely talented artist and the figure is amazing, I just didn’t want that colour scheme

@@DisplayingModelBehaviour My only issue is I snapped the Right Repulsor Hand off due to some dried paint getting stuck inside, causing there to be more friction resulting in the plastic tearing! Managed to salvage it but they really need to give those hands similar solid joints to regular hands

The problem with the Eternals figures is that they should be toyetic in some ways with the colours and designs, but they aren’t. Also the characters are more like supporting characters rather than A listers aswell which probably doesn’t help

A couple things missed:
AOA Cyclops: Where the heck is his stubble?!
Guardsman: The head is just the Eel head with a soft plastic overlay. Lazy
I never realised that was eel!
The knees on that aoa2 Cyclops are the same as Aoa Xman, they are the worst knees on any marvel legend I've encountered thus far. Love your vids dude, you rock. Your voice rocks, you're wholesome and i really appreciate you. Happy new year!

Also that High evolutionary figure looks awesome but mine has a completely locked shoulder. Frustrating to just not be able to flex a joint. WHY!?
Nice ranking! I must agree with it because I skipped damn near every figure you mentioned, lol. Only figures I have are the Animated Venom (which I got for free from Hasbro after complaining about QC issues on my Sabretooth), Cyber (who I would not have purchased as a stand alone figure), Vault Guardsman (bought for the BAF piece, then immediately sold the figure), and Hologram Iron Man (also bought for the BAF piece, but I'll probably keep him since I have a large Iron Man collection). Loved all the points you made too. Completely valid... great video! Happy New Year!

Crazy to think there was at least 25 bad figures in one year, from one series!
Now this is only my opinion, but most of these figures weren't even that bad... I can see complaints about the over abundant repaints we had, but Psycho Man! High Evolutionary! Shriek!? How the heck do you not have fun with those figures?
Honestly, sometimes I think people take collecting a little too seriously and feel entitled to nitpick just because they can.

29:00 with the black and gold suit I have my own head cannon idea for the suit that I use. This is a Spiderman, post symbiote suit, that has lost his cool and doesn't hold back his punches.
I love these videos where you give your constructive criticism and disappointment at cutting corners on occasion with Marvel Legends Dave. 👍

I love that AI Tony Stark Figure. The Venom figure is going for a crazy after market price, but regardless we need more influencers with post like you did here, Dave. Did anyone else catch the last fan first? It made me sick that the legends team was getting a laugh out of the fact that they’re releasing another wolverine. These guys know we were all going to drop the money because we want the BAF. They need to hear when they release garbage and people need to stop buying poor repaints. Maybe when they profits go down they’ll start listening.
That's my 2022 resolution. No more buying cheap repaints.
My biggest complaint about the Guardsman figure is the limbs feel soooo stiff, also agree the accessories are lacking.
I thought it was just my figure with the stuff joints!
He should have been a shoo-in for one of the best figures of the year, instead it was just meh. Sold mine off within a couple of weeks of buying the wave.

The black and gold suit annoyed me because it was a cashgrab. It lasted in the film for like, 10 minutes. It exists solely for marketing profit.

Dave that Pysho man is a perfect depiction for that character, if you look in the comic books he doesn't have any real face expressions because that's only armor I know I know on the cartoon animated face moving stuff but in a comic books that's exactly how you look

Aww I understand the frustration about She Hulk being just a repaint but she was my favorite figure!! The calm face came out SO GOOD!!! Also, she scales perfectly with MCU figures so I can pretend she is from the upcoming Disney+ show haha 😌 (Can’t wait!)

The Hood is one of those figures that is so bad that is great.
I have quite a few kitbashed into other characters, and the weapons that come with it are quite nice, dick bullets aside. Not a one is displayed as The Hood, because the cloak is too big for the figure and the head sculpt sucks. Also, DICK BULLETS.

Only Sue was genuinely bad. High Evolutionary is too short and doesn't have enough paint, but I do like Psycho Man quite a bit. He's my mind's-eye version for sure.

Thanks for another awesome-sauce episode David. It was heartwarming for me to watch someone else feel the same way. She-Hulk is NOT Raquel Welch from 1 Million Yrs B.C. However, the point I would like to drive home is the apparent lack of research, and then Quality Control for the Hasbro Marvel comic line. I find it as disrespectful as a Sentinel's wobbly knee. My wish for 2022 is for the design team that worked on Red Skull, Lady D, Ultron, Doom, and Kang work their magic with the Toad. Are you willing to place a wager on this time next year your video might contain a giant Doomhead?

I like the Shriek and Maestro figures, but Maestro should have come with some trophies, I agree. I got the Spiderman 2099 figure, but only for the retro style packaging really.

My holographic Iron Man fell apart. The front part of his torso falls off letting his arms fall out and the back part of his torso can fall out. I don’t want to keep the figure but I don’t want to give a broken figure to someone who doesn’t deserve it.

Well I disagree with alot on here but it's all good my friend. 😁👍 Yes I hear you with with not giving us the figure we want like she HULK, I think there giving use modern looks then making the classic look, Strange is proof of that I'm sure we will get the jump suit she HULK but I do like the sculpt of the ripped look.👍 I'm ok with repaints or using same parts as long as they look like the characters, but I do see your point that it looks like they went with a cheap fast way to put them out. And I agree with Eternals the movie was just bad, and when the actor is craping on it.🤷🏽♂️😆

A lot of the opinions on this list I agree (especially sue storm oh god that head) but personally I really liked the psycho man figure since I think the limited possibility works for the character and I think his paints quite nice but the figure isn’t perfect and you give some valid reasons but personally I love this figure, sorry for all this text.

All my local major nation wide super chains like Wal-Mart, Target, and Gamestop have all those Eternals figures, and they've all remained on the pegs for months now because no one wants them. You know who knew better than to get them? One of my locally owned toy specialty shops who gets pretty much every figure in every Marvel Legends wave each year....but not that one. Probably because the shop owner/operator knew no one wanted them!
I actually bought that Spider-Man 2099 figure today. It's my first Spider-Man figure. I missed out on the animated series Spidey. By major collector's standards, I'm somewhat new to Marvel Legends. I'm a DC guy. I also haven't been collecting figures long enough or don't care enough to know what to look for in terms of quality. But, the thing that really makes me very nervous with Marvel Legends figures, which I've never had issue with in McFarlane's DC line, is the soft, bendable feel to the double jointed elbows and knees. Instead of the joint moving at the rotation point, sometimes it just bends the plastic in the direction you're pulling and I'm afraid the joint is going to pop. What's crazy is that the mechanics of the Spider-Man 2099 figure isn't that great in the hips. The butt blocks a lot of leg movement range, and the way the hips of the leg piece is constructed means you can't pull the leg out to the side that much. How can I put my DC Shriek (which I LOVE) into a great crouching with one leg out and one hand on the ground pose, and I can't even put SM2099 in the same pose, despite the fact that he comes with sticking to surface hands? I feel slight buyer's remorse for SM2099, because I payed full price. I did manage to get the Black Panther which comes with the pink fist energy effects and interchangeable head (and I really like him) and the underwear only, super jacked Namor with the ridiculous trident (also really like). Since I had an extra black DC stand, I used the flight stand that Red Son Superman comes with and put Namor in it for a swimming while throwing trident pose. Looks fantastic!! Probably should've picked up that vintage style Captain America with the throwing shield effect, but someone snatched that up real quick. I kinda want that Professor X with the helmet, but I saw some toy RUclipsr put him on their list of worst figures because they claim it's lazy to re-use a Spider-Man buck for his body. But, besides that, is the figure good? I'm trying to avoid X-Men characters. I rather like my Maestro figure, the recently released one. Did anyone else have issues with that sticky dust like glaze on their Stealth Suit Iron Man? A RUclipsr and someone I met in the shop today both mentioned it. All these figures are just too much at this time. I can't get the McFarlane DC figures that are my top priority AND the Marvel Legends figures that I want. It's a crazy volume.

I don't even know their names, but i bought green eternals chick for like $6 @ walmart, air brushed some green in her hair and used a metallic gundam marker on some spots and she's now a background hydra troop.
The black and gold suit is actually a suit of his in reverse (it was hinted at first in Homecoming), but yeah, it makes sense why he used it briefly (story wise), but missed opportunity for it since FFH's Noir inspired suit even had a explanation/purpose than the black and gold/reverse suit.
I don’t like that he put the animated venom on the list because it’s a good figure tho my god
Yeah, It kind of looks like you could almost customize Shriek as a Housewife from the Stepford Wives movies... I don't think that's what they were going for.

My 2099 almost broke in the same area on the opposite leg. The moment I saw my seam start to split I stopped and heated it up.
