I dont usually subscribe to booktubers but your bubbly personality just won me over instantly when i watched one of your videos :) keep doing what you're doing
I love their relationship so much!! i think that was truly the only black main character I've read all year which is sad. but that scene on the boat I'm like BITCH KILL THAT FUCKER to the racist bastard at the dinner. great book
One of best parts: Nicholas being scared by a stuffed tiger and trips/falls down on his butt. Etta being all sarcastic "you get that out of your system". 😂 oh the sass that she has is admirable. I loved the bus scene and the time in 1776 too.
That first scene in 1776 with Etta and Nicholas was definitely my favorite as well, it was so cute and funny and I loved seeing those two interact and Etta not give a crap about Sophia and her rules :)
I think it's Etta and Nicholas kid cause they totally did it in this book. Or they end up together and have a kid later on. this was a really good book and I loved your book talk about it
I'm so glad you loved this too! I can't wait for book two! *SPOILERS* First off, I just finished this like 10 minutes ago so it's all still super fresh in my mind. I totally got confused when Etta disappeared too. LIKE HOW DID SHE DIE SO QUICKLY LIKE JULIAN? So, she was shot?.. but still, how did she die so quickly? Why is Rose here? WHAT THE HECK?! lol I'm so ready for book two! It's going to be interesting seeing Nicholas and Sophia work together to get Etta back.. I'm excited for them to find Julian too!
It's 3:30am and I FINALLY finished this book! I started it at the beginning of January and it took me this long to finish it, that's got to be a record for me. It took me so long because I've been in such a reading slump and it's been forever since I read a physical book, I've been on an ebook kick lately. I loved this so much, I love time travel so much too. I haven't read anything else by Alex but her writing really was fantastic and I was so happy with this book an can't wait to read Darkest Minds! I'm hesitant to do my first book talk on my channel because I don't want to look stupid but this was such a good book I feel like it'd be the perfect one to start. Thank you for inspiring me to finally start my channel at YallFest! I've been wanting to do it for so long and getting to talk with you there finally pushed me to do it!
Rose is such an awful person I can't get over it, like what kind of parent????? I love Nicholas and Etta's chemistry, I felt like the relationship was rushed but it makes sense why it had to be done. I kinda of would've liked to see this book without a relationship? I love YA so much but I get tired of the ooey gooey relationships over and over.
YES I CANNOT WAIT FOR ETTA TO PLAY THE VIOLIN FOR NICHOLAS!! I can imagine that scene being magical, it would be awesome if that was the last chapter of the next book.
love the video christine did you read the BEA arc? i did back in may and the changes and evolution of the rough draft arc versus the finished copy are amazing
you totally should! it was so interesting like in the arc oskar is her teacher and just dies of old age so when i read the finished copy with alice i was like HOLY SHIT theres a lot more intensity in the finished copy the prologue also didnt exist in the arc it was just interesting to basically read her finished and rough draft
I'm hoping she will pull a Cassandra Clare and give us more books than intended!! I'm completely hooked and in love with this book! For those saying they can't get into it, keep going! I enjoyed the book right from the beginning but I didn't fall completely head over heels in love with it til roughly half way through it. Just like with every first book in a series, the first half is introducing characters, explaining the world and all the nuts and bolts inside of it. You don't get to personally know and feel connected to characters until further on. With this book there is a lot to learn in the beginning about the world and time travel, but once it is explained and the characters are all introduced, the plot takes off like a rocket and takes you on an amazing ride through the universe! My advice is keep going! It really is a beautiful, fun, adventurous, stunning read!! Some parts made me tear up with how beautifully written they were!
I was wondering since Rose said the traveler was a man if it was Nicolas and Etta's future son. Really hoping for that! He would know their story and what was necessary for Rose to set up, etc.
Just finished this book like 15 minutes ago, and all I can say is, wow. I mean the Darkest Minds is one of my favorite series, but this is, I can almost say its better. I mean, the detail, and the rules about the time traveling is amazing. The attention to detail to the personalities depending on the circumstances of their birth, and the time to which they were born into, or the society they are born into, is incredible. Also love the idea of being an orphan to time. I mean, it sucks, but its a very interesting idea.
Why is your hair always perf The writing is so fantastic!!! "I love the year 1776" I so agree with the ties between music & time travel Lmao Ettas disappearance totally confused me too XD Omg I was so pissed that Rose didn't tell her anything IM SO SO GLAD YOU AGREE ON ROSE YESSS Sophia is just annoying tbh Loved your review! I'm so glad we agree on everything lol
So I haven't read the book, but I want to read the book after I watched the spoiler section of the video I know I shouldn't have done that but the st the only way for me to get interested to read the book. anyway i have to say Rose reminded me of Dumbledore, he never told harry how to destroy/kill voldemort.
Why didn't Rose just go back and destroy the astrolabe herself instead of sending her daughter to do it for her? (it might have been mentioned in the book, it has been a few days)
-How long do think before General Washington surrenders? -I reckon he will give up before the end of the month Christine: Ha. End of the month? Try never bitch. 'MURICA
That ending, OMG! I'm so worried that Etta won't remember Nicholas because she has now been thrown to some "common year" before she ever discovered the whole time-travel thing. And I just can't stand memory loss in sequels. Maybe I'm thinking way to much into this...I'm confused, I need book two now, please.
Am I the only one who was worried when she pulled Nicholas to the front of the bus they would freak out and make him sit in the back or kick her out or something? Was london more cool in the 1940's?
I WANT IT, I NEED IT, and it looks like a beautiful story. XD I haven't read The Darkest Minds yet, but I will probably pick up Passenger before diving into that series.
If Rose is such a badass, why doesn't she go to help find her daughter and the astrolobe at the end??!!! Ahhh I don't understand what could be more important !!
Wait WILL THIS PROBS MAKE 2016 FAVS? AND ALSO: assuming I wasn't super attached to the darkest minds-- should I try this one? also: tbt with the music and the background XD
I recently filmed a book review on Passenger but I haven't edited it yet and watching this video makes me motivated to do so, haha. I got confused with Rose's explanation to Nicholas about Etta too so hopefully it'll be better explained in the next book. That ending makes me really want the next book so I can see what happens next and how everything will get wrapped up!
Dudu Dudu true but good covers should be a good indication of genre/story and I tend to stray away from things I don't enjoy that much. The book is probably great though
Me: the sequel comes out soon so I'm just going to rewatch Christine's video. No rereading needed! Me, 16 minutes and 37 seconds later: yeah so that was great but now I miss the characters and want to reread the book?? that backfired
I honestly don't understand why the hell Rose didn't destroid the astrolabe when Etta was still young, instead of spending years creating a plan for her doughter to destroy it, I mean what the hell It could have been destroyed years ago
WE SHARE SO MANY OF THE SAME FEELINGS I CAN'T WAIT TO DISCUSS THIS AT THE END OF THE MONTH. FREAKING ROSE. I CAN'T DEAL. WORST MOM EVER.

One of best parts: Nicholas being scared by a stuffed tiger and trips/falls down on his butt. Etta being all sarcastic "you get that out of your system". 😂 oh the sass that she has is admirable.
I loved the bus scene and the time in 1776 too.

Looking beautiful each day😍
I think it's Etta and Nicholas kid cause they totally did it in this book. Or they end up together and have a kid later on. this was a really good book and I loved your book talk about it

you totally should! it was so interesting like in the arc oskar is her teacher and just dies of old age so when i read the finished copy with alice i was like HOLY SHIT theres a lot more intensity in the finished copy the prologue also didnt exist in the arc it was just interesting to basically read her finished and rough draft

I'm hoping she will pull a Cassandra Clare and give us more books than intended!! I'm completely hooked and in love with this book! For those saying they can't get into it, keep going! Im sorry i havent been here in a while. I know christine and kat moved do they still live together?
I haven't even heard of this book I just came to comment how pretty you look
Ikr she reminds me of a mermaid here for some reason
Lmao I lovee your review it's so spot on, I still can't get over Rose hid the Astrolobe in the most obvious place ever
So I haven't read the book, but I want to read the book after I watched the spoiler section of the video I know I shouldn't have done that but the st the only way for me to get interested to read the book. anyway i have to say Rose reminded me of Dumbledore, he never told harry how to destroy/kill voldemort.
THIS BOOK WAS SUCH A WILD RIDE also I loved the 1776 part except I couldn't stop singing "hamilton" during it
+mara dryer baha XD
Why didn't Rose just go back and destroy the astrolabe herself instead of sending her daughter to do it for her? (it might have been mentioned in the book, it has been a few days)
It was because Etta was a "blank slate" I think. Also the guy from the future told her it had to be etta
-How long do think before General Washington surrenders?
-I reckon he will give up before the end of the month
Christine: Ha. End of the month? Try never bitch. 'MURICA
Are you going to, or have you read, Carry On? I really want to know what you think of it!
+Isabella Enriquez ive been slowly making my way through it =)
The book kind of fell flat towards the end. Is the second book better than the first?
i haven't finished reading Passenger so I'm just here to like the video
+Della - Lynn Giltmag
That ending, OMG! I'm so worried that Etta won't remember Nicholas because she has now been thrown to some "common year" before she ever discovered the whole time-travel thing. And I just can't stand memory loss in sequels. Maybe I'm thinking way to much into this...I'm confused, I need book two now, please.

+Rhys Montrose
Haha "I love the year 1776" "I wasn't there personally" you are so amusing!
If Rose is such a badass, why doesn't she go to help find her daughter and the astrolobe at the end??!!! Ahhh I don't understand what could be more important !!
I LOVE YOUR HAIR
Wait WILL THIS PROBS MAKE 2016 FAVS? AND ALSO: assuming I wasn't super attached to the darkest minds-- should I try this one?
also: tbt with the music and the background XD
+Maya Khodabakchian MAYBES =P // they're really different so I think even if you didn't liek darkest minds you should try this one =)
I finished that on Friday (?) and cried awfully and tried to stay away from RUclips and Tumblr so I could get over it, but nope.... here I am.
For the first half of the book I kept being weirded out by how similar it is to City of Bones.
you should give Persephone by Kaitlin bevis a chance!
But where's Alexandra? The 2 of you have such good chemistry.
+TimeAndChance we don't live close to each other anymore =(
)-:
I recently filmed a book review on Passenger but I haven't edited it yet and watching this video makes me motivated to do so, haha. hi
+illuminate books hi!
What age group would this book fall into?(YA?)
Hello I am a late PASSENGER to the train 😉 but... A rose has thorns... Has anyone thought of that?
Little Dutch Bookshop OOOOOOO GOOD IDEA 💡 *mind blown*
I really want to read this but the boat / ship / bottle cover is putting me off because it reminds me of pirates. I hate pirates.
it's really such a waste if you let yourself be influenced by covers that much. don't, you will miss out on great stories :)
Dudu Dudu true but good covers should be a good indication of genre/story and I tend to stray away from things I don't enjoy that much. The book is probably great though
+Divya Reads i totally agree on the covers but i'm afraid you won't enjoy this book if you really hate pirates :/
Me: the sequel comes out soon so I'm just going to rewatch Christine's video. No rereading needed!
Me, 16 minutes and 37 seconds later: yeah so that was great but now I miss the characters and want to reread the book?? that backfired

#1 struggle of a book lover :'-)
I honestly don't understand why the hell Rose didn't destroid the astrolabe when Etta was still young, instead of spending years creating a plan for her doughter to destroy it, I mean what the hell It could have been destroyed years ago
