exciting times indeed!!!! More of this coming......young Africans get yourselves in the right rooms and conversations this Detty December! Being passive and entitled will not cut it.
As an African American I watch a lot of Nigerian films, mostly on YT, but I would say only about 10 percent are of good production quality, but most of their writing and acting are very good. Now they started construction on a huge 100 million dollar African film City Last year, which will mirror Hollywood studios... Idris Elba and I am sure other African and even African American actors will seek out roles there as oppurtunities for people of color dissapate in America the next several years. It is now called" woke " to give African American actors non steretypical roles!
Afrobeats and tech in Africa are the templates to follow for African film. Study their playbook....they all turned inward and focused on authentic representation then leveled up attracting international investment. Neither Afrobeats or fin tech tolerated mediocrity because the ecosystem became hyper competitive and hyper meritocratic.
Nollywood continues to do more damage to Africa than any other art form... they constantly depict African spirituality as evil and western values, language, culture, and religion as superior.
aw yes, I also noticed how many pioneer actors in the African movie industry are back in the movie industry again these days. It may be a big come back time for Ghanian/african movie industry soon 🥰
If all European and Americans actors and musicians and artist partner with all potential positive equilibrium balancing artists can explore and do business.
It is not entertainment to watch African men hurting children, terrorizing children and mistreating children. Nor women. So please do not bring this studio to broadcast negative depictions of Africans in order to covertly normative society to those ideals. We need majority positive, inspiring, loving depictions of black people and their relationships to each other. In other words, do not bring the sins and culture of the West to Africa’s continent. It is already present in the Nigerian YT movies that depict disrespect and mistreat towards women. Idris, do RIGHT by Africa; do not be a covert destructive tool of the West.
@@alwaysrossy4023exactly, these jealous Ghanaians. Ghana doesn’t even have a movie industry. Always have to mention Nigeria. This is Idris in Banku republic, what does this have to do with Nigeria? ..mumu people

To think you can’t air your opinion without shading the Nigerian movies. Kudos to your hypocrisy
