It is a recall for a faulty crankcase seal that leaks oil on to the water pump electrical connection. Not a water pump seal. Oil gets in to the water pump connection and can cause an over heating issue or a fire. There “fix” is to check the water pump operation and connector for damage. They will replace them if needed. The funny part is they will install a shield to divert the oil leak. WHY NOT FIX THE OIL LEAK!!!!!!
Hi bro, i enjoy your channel very much . Quick question , i intend to get a 2019 X5 40e but only intend to use petrol n skip the ev part , is this possible? Meaning i wont charge the bat at all... reason is a 2015 35i will cost more or less a 40e therefore i was thinking this way ..thks in advance for your advice . Best rgds Alex .
Hi , I just want to buy a 2018 X5 e40, think the cars are all out of warranty, so any suggestion? can you recommand any inspector who can help to choose the car? thanks a lot
Well, it depends on individual. I won't do it again if you ask me.. LOL Current range about 26km-30km as I have brand new battery replaced under warranty by BMW just 1 year ago
Hi sir, thanks for sharing are the urgent news. Are there any 7 series part of the recall? Since you own a BMW X5 xdrive 40e plug-in and its part of the recall. Will the 740Le which uses the same battery as your car be part of the recall too? 🤔 Thanks.
@chestercheng75 thanks for the reply. I've checked my VIN for my 740LE. it was my mistake your X5 and my 740LE don't share the same engine. 😅 Just the same battery. If you live in Malaysia, BMW Malaysia gives a good rate to change 1 module of the battery.

Yes, possible to drive without charging externally
Apologies for the red lagging arrow, It was fine during editing.. Should have triple checked 😅
Sadly my vin doesn’t show up as part of the recall. I have a 2012 x5 n55
Than you're safe

If you're local Malaysia in Klang Valley. Try go check with my usual foreman at Autobahn in bandar Sunway
Is it worth buying a x5 40e? What are the km range on battery only?

Does the F15 X5 40e still worth the purchase since depreciation had already done the job. Should I try my luck.
Honestly, nope

I'm not sure, you need to check your VIN number

What about cars sold in Europe?
Worldwide recall
I am already change in Puchong at Sep 9.....
I was informed German don't have parts for the recall yet
Wow, a deja vu of Hyundai/Kia vehicles, but for the ignition system
Same problem?
@@chestercheng75 nope, but it was a massive recall in US and Australia
