The Ohio State guy says SEC/ESPN doesn’t want Notre Dame in their conference. Dumbest thing I have heard anyone say in a very long time.
I believe it. The erosion to the SEC's geo-centric brand would likely be more costly than any value from adding ND.
SEC REALLY HASN’T MADE AN EFFORT TOWARD TALKING TO ND TO JOIN THEM. PLUS ND HAS A LONG STANDING THING WITH NBC AND DON’T WANT TO GIVE THAT UP FOR ESPN.
@@tarheel7406 Missouri isn’t a southeastern team, yet they got invited. I don't see how adding Notre Dame would be any different than adding Missouri.
@@Patrick-sg7cm MO is at least "greater Southeast' and a flagship
@tarheel7406 Also, Oklahoma, Texas and A&M are not southest either. The SEC makes exceptions for the right teams.
You are missing the news of the day. Stanford is talking to BIG. You have to include them in this conversation. They have the largest possibliliy to join BIG as it kinds of locks down ND. It’s looking for like a Stanford/FSU to BIG. While UNC, Clemson, UVA are looking for like an SEC bound.
Their average attendance of 28,000 fans at their games is so attractive. That is unless their is a mathematically inverse relationship which skews things somehow. Which very well could be.
As of April 1, Stanford are full voting members of the ACC. They signed off in agreement to sue FSU and Clemson for breach of contract. Meaning, they are attached to the Grant of Rights with the ACC until 2036!
NC is going to the Big10 they are a lock academically and they don't want to get steam rolled by the SEC.
@@brentmichael4770 Nope....
virginia tech and uva are a package deal
Just because teams aren’t in the same Conferences anymore doesn’t mean they can’t maintain rivalries. Florida and Florida St. has done it. Clemson South Carolina, Iowa and Iowa St., Georgia Georgia Tech., Notre Dame and Michigan St, USC, Stanford, Michigan have done it. If every team plays 8 Conference games they can have one none Conference rivalry game, and three None Conference ad-hoc games make one required to be from another Power Conference.
Y is notre dame still thinking they're better than other college football teams! They haven't won a title since 1988!!
Explain how UNC to the SEC and NCSU to the Big12 makes any sense culturally, economically and athletically? When you actually look its clear that UNC aligns with the Big10 ans NCSU with SEC.
100% spot on
BIG isn’t going to be available for UNC.
@@wolfpackmba I think in an ideal world, Clemson, UNC,NC State and either Virginia or Virginia Tech to get the SEC to 20 would make the most sense Miami and Florida State ending up in the big 10 long-term that would also preserve many of these traditional rivalries
@@adamb6370 "BIG isn’t going to be available for UNC."
UNC won't be available to the B1G.
Cause nobody cares about NCST. UNC actually has brand that people recognize
I find it very difficult to believe that the Big 10 would want Virginia over Miami. The whole point of realignment is increasing value through football/location market? Miami has a better TV market and draws more eyeballs to a TV contract than UVA.
UVA is stellar academically, founded by Thomas Jefferson. Miami is a has been.
As a casual seen this from the outside, a lot of you college pendants keep on forgetting that a lot of these schools will most likely join the power two conferences at a high discounted rate and I’m talking about Utah Virginia Tech Stanford, just a name of few colleges from different conferences they’re gonna make sure that everybody is comfortable enough With this big change of two conferences, and slowly absorb these other colleges with high discounted rates
Dream scenario would be Clemson, UNC NC State and Virginia Tech to the SEC with Florida State and Miami matriculating to the Big Ten only issue with that would be Virginia and where they would end up but it just seems to be Virginia Tech is a better fit for the SEC than Virginia
You need to remember the Big 10’s strategy. They are trying to tap every major TV Market they can. Florida and Texas are two remaining very large ones they don’t have a footprint in. I can see Virginia as it helps with the Eastern Seaboard TV market, Florida St. is a no brainer as one of the major properties in Florida. North Carolina would fit in academically and filling out that Eastern seaboard. Notre Dame is the biggest fish still available because it draws the entire country. Even if significantly less than local schools.
In which case don't underestimate A&M's loathing of Texas. A&M absolutely would leave the SEC. They're not interested in TCU, Texas Tech or Baylor.
There are a lot of mixing and matching involving the ACC, Big 10, Big XII and SEC. If there is a settlement or the ACC loses in Court there are only three things most people agree on. 1: BC and WF have no better landing spot. 2: The Big 10 and SEC will take ACC schools. 3: FSU to the Big 10. Everything else is up in the air.
You left out Georgia Tech! Also, breaking news, newly acquired Stanford, is already in Negotiations with the Big Ten, along with Notre Dame.
Will be a very interesting summer…I guess it will make the time go faster
The notre dame announcer you are wondering about was jack collinsworth.
UNC fits better in the SEC academics wise than most assume.
Really?
Why? Cause they cheat??
Presidents have to take responsibility for this mess. They refused to give us a playoff.
Bargain ben shopping time…Stanford would join the Big10 at an 80% discount
EAST: Syracuse, Boston College, UConn, Duke, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, USF. WEST: Tulane, SMU, SDSU, Cal, Stanford, Oregon State, Washington State.
FSU to the B1G I would say is a valid point but having Virginia as a traveling partner with them makes no sense esp that they have Miami going to the Big 12. Virginia only chance of making it to the B1G would be if they expand to 24 schools but no shot at number 19 or 20.
The recent word is that UVA has snubbed the SEC (again), and UNC is now certain for the SEC. If the pair aren't packaged, I can see UVA's value dropping from the B1G's perspective.
What would be good for Power Five football make four conferences two upper and two lower. Then do it like professional soccer where you can jump up or drop down. Make the best team in each lower conference rise up and each worst team drops down each year.
I'd like Florida st, Miami, Noter Dame, and Georgia Tech.
Zack don't worry the B1G doesn't have any fans in the South. BTW, Miami has won something despite your bad memory.
Miami hasn’t won anything in over 23 years no conference championships no national title nothing.
Won the offseason for years running....
What have they won since 2001?
The greatest thing about people who bring up academics or travel issues have no concept of big business! Assets will outweigh ANY liabilities as long as it’s a true asset! All of these deal are done they just haven’t announced it to the public yet, even the court cases are just for show. All the world is a stage!
In all fairness unlike Washington USC has never scheduled a FCS team, it’s the only FBS team never to have done so, so while Washington will schedule their FCS teams like for their 2024 scheduling of Weber State a “tough”FCS team
Go Clemson
to Hell
Go Clemson
See you soon Notre dame! I am inevitable.
Sincerely,
The Big Ten
Stanford and Notre Dame will end up in the B1G and the B1G wouldn't turn down yearly trips to Miami and the national tv footprints that comes with it and the SEC fans don't want to even think about latinos so "Miami who?". personally, i'd love to see North Carolina and Virginia join Stanford, Notre Dame and Miami (Miami vs ND!) to the B1G. finally, OREGON WILL DESTROY WASHINGTON THIS YEAR! Go Ducks!
Miami can’t even fill up half of their rented stadium lol wtf why would the P2 want anything to do with that trash game day atmosphere.
@@kingblack3378 please, you don’t think Big Ten fan bases will fill that stadium themselves? they will! everyone wants a trip to Miami. to provide a national market for TV types and #1 is the Notre Dame vs Miami. it’s big for Notre Dame.
Virginia Tech is in Bleaksburg, no real large TV market, average middle of the road TV ratings, ZERO interest from B1G. At least with UVA, you are talking about the states premier school, with top notch academics and a strong basketball program. As stated I would see UNC as more of a B1G target because of academics & cultural fit w/ large public universities.
UVA needs to dissociate from recent racist events. I put tiki torches and UVA together.
UNC is a (the) B1G target; UNC is now most likely going SEC, hence all of the FSU/MIAMI chatter.
The non-populated areas would be Illinois. Every other school is easy to get to. Iowa Cedar Rapids. Purdue Chicago. Indiana Indianapolis. Maryland Washington DC. Nebraska Omaha.
Do you realize that Champaign is closer to Chicago than Purdue, and Illinois is only about 20 mins further from Indianapolis than Purdue is? Champaign also has direct flights to and from both O'Hare and Dallas?
Noter Dame is in talks with the big ten at the stuff that came out with the new money for the conferences.
Notre Dame will definitely go to the Big 10. That’s too much money too on the table to not join.
Unc and nc state are obligated by nc state law to remain in the same conference
Nope
If given the option, UNC will definitely go to the Big 10. But if they don’t want them and the SEC does then they’ll go to the SEC.
UNC does have an option, and is now leaning heavily SEC

Why would Tier 2 ACC flight risks go to the already Tier 2 BIG12?
@@tarheel7406 if ESPN doesn't extend the contract in 2026 cause they've lost tremendous value in losing FSU, Clemson possibly Miami, NC. The ACC will not get enough from the remaining ACC teams, Big 12 will then have a more lucrative deal.
If the ACC "only" loses 4 members, why would any remainder go to the already Tier 2 BIG12?
Because ESPN is not gonna pay Tier 2 money for the Tier 3 quality programs left...the 2-3 that have any football value, will grab a lifeline to Big12 as soon as offered..
GT will find a home…after Ireland…maybe
Miami at 50% discount
75% discount for several years and build to 50% discount until media deal renewal
1/3 price...just like their buy 1 get 2 tickets free to their games..
9:40 or so of the video,... the B1G schools have plenty of large metro areas near their campuses!Gooooo Bluuuuuueeeeee Baby!
We agree, UVa to the Big 10.
Realll
Speaking for Seminole Nation, we hate the SEC, we hate Disney, we hate ESPN. We want to be in the B1G. Go Noles ----;;-->
Stanford joined the…A…C…C
Miami to the Big 10 book it. You talk about fans an the Canes have fans from coast to coast an also haters. Miami where it’s currently is a bigger brand than any of the schools that you discussed an if we can turn the corner hands down no one has more appeal.
Miami is such a huge brand Nike dropped them to sponsor UCF
@@SolarNole. aww… little sister feels left out after missing the playoffs going undefeated lol. Fswhoo always talks loud but carries a small stick.
@@tstyles6987 We all know UM is the Catholic school girl taking it from Notre Dame by the way they voted. The alphas are leaving now. Maybe you will actually win an ACC title in football when Daddy leaves. Even Wake Forest did it once. Good luck Candy Canes keep wearing the ocean trash Adidas uniforms it represents your program perfectly
@@SolarNole. It wasn't Nike's decision. Miami doesn't need Nike $$.
Absolutely! FSU and Clemson are at their ceiling. Miami has a much higher ceiling from a business, research and even football standpoint than any ACC team and more than most SEC or B1G teams.
Miami is still a national brand. Even after 20 of administration neglect led mediocrity in football, it still has more National Championships and Heisman winners than FSU or Clemson. It has a higher all-time winning percentage than Clemson and only 0.4% behind FSU.
The idea that Miami would be left to the Big XII only makes sense to someone who knows nothing about business.
If Stanford goes to the B1G then Cal might follow
Sorry, gonna have to respectfully disagree.
As far as the state of Florida goes, I think this scenario would be extremely interesting: FSU Big Ten, Florida SEC, Miami Big 12. This would make the big 3 in Florida where they could each potentially win their own conference championship, and play one another as in state rivals. That would be exciting for all 3 conferences.
That's a great thought. And then throw UCF in the mix because many think they're heading for those levels of play.
As studied and reliable a list as bingo number draw.
Georgia Tech? Atlanta market? Hello?
Hope that GT goes to B1G.
Go kstate
TCU 🐸
VT needs to be sec uva is the baby brother in Virginia the state loves VT
Virginia is the flagship school though. It's politics and academics that really are the factors. VT is more competitive but Virginia is the state school. That matters in SEC/ B1G
Virginia AAU and R1. That matters also
VATECH has never won a natty in a team sport sponsored by the NCAA. UVA is an original public ivy flagship that's a lite blue in overall sports.
Duke basketball only in SEC football in Big12?
The SEC is not the B12 in basketball. The B12 is the SEC in basketball. If Duke sells thier soul just for basketball in a G5 basketball Conferences(SEC, or the B10) Mot the B east, or the B12. They done forever. No football you.
If I am not mistaken Alabama is ranked close to #1 in the polls for next year right now. But it all comes down to money and it’s quite possible Duke basketball even at a reduced rate in the SEC would make more single handedly then if all of Duke joined the Big12
SEC could take all Duke sports and just call it the cost of doing business to get the Duke brand. SEC basketball is on the rise and Big 10 as well just got to throw money at it and buy up the best talent
@@kendog4971 Joe Bidon news.
UCONN is way better in mens and women's basketball, and even in foitball than Duke!
Screw you guys and your smug attitude towards the Big 12. That's why the AAC, oh I mean ACC is dying.
In context, the BIG12 is already dead but doesn't know it yet.
Miami, NC State, VT, and Louisville to the Big 12. Would make an awesome eastern wing for the Big 12. Add Cincy and WVU. Lets make it happen.

When the ACC falls, there will be only two conferences. The Big 12 will be a totally different league playing for the runner up trophy baby shoe me your weine.
Dream on.
Miami to XII???
Tell me you know nothing about business without telling me you know nothing about business.
Tells us you are as financially savvy as Ruiz...Time to face the reality that Miami is a has been program that hasn't been relevant for 23 years..
Fl st, Clemson, North Carolina, & Virginia to SEC
1) The Big Ten and SEC have a handshake on splitting their top two teams interested in out of the ACC, thus, FSU to Big Ten and UNC to SEC. Additionally, the SEC likes flagship schools and only one per State if possible. 2) I would be shocked if the Big Ten took Virginia. It’s a mediocre at best football brand and football school. 3) Most talk had been about Clemson going to the Big Ten, and the SEC already has South Carolina 4) Miami has been in the talk a lot with Big Ten, good school and the population of South Florida and recruiting ground of South Florida. Lots of Midwest viewers of Big Ten schools in South Florida. 5) Latest rumor has Notre Dame, finally, joining but with Stanford joining. Other possibilities for the Big Ten might be Utah with Stanford and Notre Dame, and then the FSU, Clemson, Miami combo topping off at 24 total teams.
Texas, Texas A&M, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Alabama, Auburn, Tennessee, Vanderbilt. This kind of blows your argument away.
@@rjenkins66bj Not at all. I said “one per State if possible”. I’ve heard numerous SEC insiders say when adding new teams they want to expand their footprint where they’re not already and with flagship schools. Thus, UNC and Virginia. Personally, it makes no difference to me if Clemson doesn’t join the Big Ten, although they pick up a bit of the Atlanta viewing market which is sizesble. They be better than a Georgia Tech. The Virginia schools going to the SEC doesn’t bother me a bit and UNC too.
Louisville,Mia, NC St, and who else in the B12? BTW Uconn is way way better than Duke in mens, and womens basketball, and I believe they both are equel in football. Afterall Uconn has Mora Jr! I dont know Duke's HC in football is.,
Why would Tier 2 ACC flight risks go to the already Tier 2 BIG12?
