Wow Adam, the Deadbolt just goes over anything! So cool with smp motor, so much control. I totally see the benefits of brushless. But clearly it can break things even if you are careful. Still I think it's awesome! Thanks for another great video Adam, take care!!!
It is an epic crawler! I need to sort out the front end a bit and I’m not super satisfied with the battery location, but I’ll keep tinkering. It will definitely break things with ease! I have to change my driving style for sure!
Another awesome video Bud 👍🏻👍🏻. I’ve never been a fan of the Deadbolt cos i dont like the look of the body but really considering buying one now after seeing how Snaggle Tooth looks 😍😍, i love it. Just ordered the Mofo UAF chassis after seeing it on your rig, i love the way its set out with the battery tray location and how many options it has for shock locations. I’m mega pleased i stumbled across ur channel Adam cos i cant stop watching it. Going from very first of your videos all the way to latest and i’m enjoying every minute of it, its a SCX24 fans dream channel and cant wait for next one already 🤙🏻❤️🤙🏻👍🏻
Thanks for that, I really appreciate it! I wasn’t a deadbolt fan initially either but now I love it! It’s a killer performer and I think the looks grow on you as a result
Love the brushless! It’s a huge quantum leap on performance! It is a pain the get the chassis sorted out though. I feel like I’m bake to ground zero chassis wise with the deadbolt, but I guess that keeps me busy!
I would like to learn more about matching power requirements ie motor/ESC/batt/servos. What are the pitfalls I need to look out for so I don’t fry a bunch of expensive bits.
Oh boy, I could make an entire video on that. I always try to look at where the weak link in the chain will be and reverse engineer from there. For example: brushless system will create huge torque and stress on the drive train. So before I install the brushless motor fortify the driveshafts and transmission with metal components. Now with those solid, can your axles take the stress? Probably not if they're stock, so consider hardened steel upgraded units. For batteries, 2S batteries are fine for virtually all applications. 3S is possible if you have an aftermarket ESC. Servos like the Emax, EcoPower, etc. are pretty easy bolt on solutions and can work with a modified stock tray. But its better to get an aftermarket servo mount. Bigger, stronger servos will need more mods/different trays to fit. I could go on and on, but the reverse engineering approach is universal.
Ordered a micro commodo and looking at the Furitek Lizard pro, S3’s and wheel tire upgrade next. Steering servo ate its lunch the first week just playing with setups in my living room.
I love it man!!!!! Keep on doing what you’re doing brother, your builds and videos have really helped me with well performing setups! 👍 Love seeing new updates come out from you! Question regarding tires for you. Do you trim your foams down before installing them, or are you running one complete foam per tire?
Thank you! I’ll keep the content coming! I run the crawler innovation foams for the most part and I don’t trim those. If I run generic foams, I will trim them
Here is the initial build video I did: ruclips.net/video/upBuJImpOuc/видео.html I did a bit of a refresh of it here as well: ruclips.net/video/JIWiutHuLQo/видео.html
Steel driveshafts. Or not. Im contemplating . After busting the mofo heavy hex combo.. i might move the weak point to the driveshafts. Snapped the in er and outter in like 2min of our rock course
I snapped my front rcawd portal's within a few batteries on my gladiator and front plastic driveshaft 50t 050 motor. I had original with dog bones I have just installed cvds but it sounds like the design sux as hearing lots of failures with them

That is pretty much amazing. I simply have to do this to my deadbolt. Love your series and dedication to the scx24 line.
That is sweet! Might need to pull back my comment on going brushless vs a Deadbolt. Both seems like a much better option!
Haha! The deadbolt really shines with the extra torque and control. It just elevates it to another level.
the foam sounds like snow. a winter paint job on the peak would look amazing :)
Great idea!

i'm thinking o going bls but its a bit of money i dont know. what should i do?
Shame for the Gladiator, but damn Snaggletooth is a 'Beast' now. Sweet looks and performance :)
Appreciate your builds and reviews.
Oh, the gladiator will be back better than ever. Just wait until the next episode 🤩

Hello from southeast alaska that motor is badass bro
Thanks, and yes it is!
Very nice! Got me thinkin about brushless now, thanks bud! Cheers

swamp kings are amazing! i had to buy another set for my gladiator lol
They are a fantastic tire!!

Dope build bro
Thank you! Snaggletooth is one of my favorites!
Damn. I got the stock RCAWD CVDs in my killr Carbon comp rig n snapped the left side CVD like nothing!
When I snapped the gladiator axle it was effortless, like it was made of glass. Thankfully it’s been solid since I got my replacements!
You should try the revenge of pancake motor. Also do you know if you need to use the V1 esc or can I use the V2
The ROP looks amazing. You will need V1.

Sweet build like to have one. Also love the shirt
Thank you! Marc Lobliner over at MTS nutrition gets credit for the shirt 💪
That works, and sounds a lot better than the Stinger (mine at least). I don't think the Stinger will be any gentler on your parts either.
The stinger is noisy! This SMP is virtually silent. I definitely need to adjust my driving style with these new motors!
I love this tires.
Oh man, me too. They are super gnarly and work great
other sweet video of the deadbolt.
What beadlocks are you running with those tires?
Thank you! These are the rc4wd stamped steel beadlocks with the hubs reversed.
Do you have a list posted somewhere of all the upgrades/mods you have done and plan to do to the deadbolt?
Here is the initial build video I did: ruclips.net/video/upBuJImpOuc/видео.html

Nice truck
Thank you!
Hey man i love all of ur cars but how fast are the cars stock vs with the pancake motor A yt short to show speed would be nice
Thanks! I’ll do a short showing the speed. The SMP is slower than stock but the stinger is faster. I’ll get that up tomorrow 👍🏻
that looks boss!
Thank you! I am really happy with the setup.
I have the mofo pancake all mofo axles I've had mine and severe binds matter fact I find it the motor to it stopped and it still would not break
I may need to invest in some of his axles then!
I'm thinking of getting a scx24 deadbolt for my daughter she is 5 and I'd like to get her in to RC ...
It’s a great rig! Super capable.
What shock absorber s are you using please on your Deadbolt ?
RClions 43mm: amzn.to/46IFKJ7
Where did you find the teeth decals for your deadbolt?
I got them on eBay. Frillsnfringe is the seller 👍🏻
@@CapeCrawlers thank you
What state do you live in, because I want to go to the places that you go. For mini crawling!
Massachusetts, on cape cod
Okay, I live in Arizona. So I will not be going to any of the same places😕
@@eosa_x I should come out there! I am sure you have tons of great spots!
In Phoenix Arizona there is a lot of red rock, that’s good for crawling. But I am one hour away from Phoenix!
What tires are on this thing?
LGRP Swamp kings. Love them!
Steel driveshafts. Or not.
Im contemplating . After busting the mofo heavy hex combo.. i might move the weak point to the driveshafts. Snapped the in er and outter in like 2min of our rock course
Steel on the gladiator, stock on the deadbolt for now.
I snapped my front rcawd portal's within a few batteries on my gladiator and front plastic driveshaft 50t 050 motor. I had original with dog bones I have just installed cvds but it sounds like the design sux as hearing lots of failures with them
What shocks do you have on the deadbolt, please reply
These are RCLions from Amazon with the springs removed.
Thanks
Where can I purchase those wheels?
These are rc4wd stamped steel wheels and you can get them directly from rc4wd or Amain hobbies.
@@CapeCrawlers how did you make them deep dished like that?
Hot damn
🥰🤩💥💯👍👏
🙏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Nice setup on deadbolt…
Thanks! I’m really happy with it!
