    Amazing work Sathya, absolutely adored your work in this video, both from a photography perspective but also cinematography. Really appreciated your effort with the editing and music choices too. I have to say I leave this video inspired and that is the best thing a RUclips presence can ever do for those who are watching.
    In your video you said something about being conscientious of your skin colour as you "didn't want to invite any kind of conflicts" and I just wanted to say to you and everyone who reads this that even though I can understand why would be conscientious or careful, specially being in a foreign country as you were but also never let in any way, shape or form that unique beauty of yours to stop you from doing what you want to do both creatively and in life.
    Your effort, work and sensitivity are tremendously appreciated by me and others who watch your channel and I hope you know that we definitely look forward to see more of your work so never stop capturing what you see and never stop being the person you are, you're doing a great job 🕊

    Stunningly gorgeous black and white photos. Really inspires me to try to shoot black and white more during seasons other than winter. I'm also glad you feel more empowered to do more street photography! I understand the intimidation you can feel when you're a minority in a foreign country or an unfamiliar place.

      And yes to trying bnw during other seasons :) At first, I did feel like I was making the wrong choice to shoot bnw in sunny Greece of all places, but really glad I did :)

    great shots there! it gets more comfortable the more you do it :) black and white is awesome, I recently enjoyed agent shadow, but fomapan 100 is great, rollei rpx black and white films are also cool, JCH Streetpan is killer for sunny day street shots. there is so much variety in black and white to chose from.

    Nice job Sathya, my favourite BW film stock is Rollei Ortho 25 plus for 135 which has almost Zero grain, and Adox Scala 50 comes in a close second. While Rollei RPX 100 is primarily great for all round 120 format, it has good contrast and fine grain, but feel you need to use a colour filter to compensate when shooting on harsh lighting conditions. Cheers

      Thank you! And thanks for sharing, Rollei ortho has been on my list for so long I gotta shoot that film stock, I didn’t know about Adox so I’ll check it out. Good to know about Rollei RPX 100 in harsh lighting conditions. Thanks again!

    NIce video! HP5 is my go to. I recently tried a roll of Delta 3200 in 120 format, shot at 1600 but developed at 3200, it is surprisingly contrasty with smooth grains, might have to shoot a few more rolls to see if it'll be my new favorite!

    • @SathyaPeacock
      @SathyaPeacock  2 года назад

      Can’t go wrong with HP5. And I love delta 3200 :) I’ve shot and developed a roll back in Mississippi at 3200 and loved the grains. Waiting for darker weather to shoot it again! Let me know how you get on with them. What type of photography do you normally enjoy shooting?

      @@SathyaPeacock Mostly photos of my surrounding neighborhoods. I do notice usually the photos I like more have some kind of human element in it. I get self-conscious when trying street photography style photos as well, so most of them are silhouettes from far away haha

    Very nice video! Beautiful mix of photography, music and videography. Really like the silhouette shots where you framed a person in the backlit sunlight. If you have a few minutes to watch a few Belgian photography videos, always welcome to pass by my channel 🙂.

    I share the insecurities you have with street photography. I’m an African American so I’m often weary of how people may perceive me in many situations. But thankfully everyone is quite welcoming to getting their photos taken where I live. I just try not to spend too much time in unfamiliar or quieter neighborhoods when I shoot

    • @SathyaPeacock
      @SathyaPeacock  2 года назад

      thanks Ronald, it’s nice when people are welcoming. In London, where I live, I wouldn’t have shared the same weariness but because it was a new place I was more cautious. Common sense goes a long way too I agree. Where in the States do you live?

  • @seoulrydr

    the perception of complexion is a complex inspection of assumptions infecting our reactions and rejections of the other. now that i've gotten that out of my system, it's good to actually hear it acknowledged in a low key yet factual way. i know the feeling intimately. and with that out of the way, i shoot digital and go to black and white when i feel it more clearly conveys my intent. ty for the vid.
