We all go through sadness and loved ones' death but i had never heard of this guy until we, (brother and me), did the things ya' do when someone ya' love dies. This was our Dad. Everywhere we went this song was playing. Brilliant song - strange how such sweet, beuatiful music will always remind me of such a sad, massively sad, time in my life. But, yes i return to this song to remember a great man , MY DAD.
For me....I didn't discover this song,or artist until I lost my wife,in ICU only 15 days from the China Virus.....David Grey got me through it...because...no one can explain or know what you are going through at those moments ....but,he gets it.
This live version of this song is just perfection. I love more then the white ladder version. He connects with audience and dors it so well. A great version. Probably the best.👍👍
so atmospheric,he has really worked this one out for his live shows, superb musicianship, but the soul of it lies in the lyrics and the tempo, keep it up Dave,u r a legend
David went out with me for a month or so. 39 years ago I was 16 and he was 17. I have only just realised who he is now. He did not talk much. He seemed "different". I made him smile. The way he looked at me will never leave me. He was a lovely person. I was sad when I realised he was not coming to see me any more. I am watching this to try to bring it all together. The Dave I knew in 1985, the White Ladder David Gray, and the legend he has become. He did not talk much. I did not have much of a voice either, when I was 16. 1985- I was sad when I realised he was not coming to see me any more. 2024- I am heartbroken.
Learned to play this on my guitar. Simple, but so emotional. I didn't realize how much this song would touch me when I played it. I actually started to tear up. Color me surprised. :)
If you like this live version of Nightblindness, check out the Live from The Roundhouse CD that comes in the deluxe version of his new album, Draw The Line - it's fantastic!
He is a great Talent(David Gray)untapped till only the last 3/4 years, Maybe u should try to write and perform a Song before u call anyone else's SHIT leonodonnell91
