I'm a bit of an armchair history buff, and I had never heard of this lady. Thank you for casting your candle of light into the dark corner of an unknowing mind. Very excellent, and I'll watch this again in the future, I'm sure. 💕
Elizabeth of Austria (Sisi) was a woman whom I found to be fascinating and yet very tragic indeed. She was raised in a free thinking and liberal house, but unfortunately, she was not trained to cope with the darker and restrictive idiosyncrasies of the Royal family of any other royal courts for that matter. She reminds me of Princess Diana and her complicated life and relationship with the British Royal family. Both women died in tragic circumstances, which quite frankly were absolutely avoidable. Hindsight is always perfect, and foresight is frequently sorely lacking in human nature. Enough said. Thank you again for your excellent work 👏
Interesting comparison, though I think Diana had a more unhappy childhood, and was also less introvert than Elisabeth. Diana found joy in people; while Elisabeth seems to have been more of a dreamer and thinker. My heart aches for both of them and their unhappiness.
Franz Joseph built a beautiful palace for her on the island Corfu, where she spent time to improve her health. I visited it, and saw it so delightful. .The mother-in law had a very negative influence on the marital happiness of Sisi and Franz Joseph.
Loved this, Jon. You knocked it out of the ballpark. Thanks for delving into the history, and fleshing it all out. What an amazing and complicated lady!
Fantastic video on Kaiserin Sisi. So many videos stop with her death and I never knew what happened to her assassin. Thank you for finishing the story Excellent video I really appreciated it.
I strongly recommend the well researched new book "Under the Spell of a Myth: Empress Sisi in Greece" by Stefan Haderer. He reveals many unknown private details of her life, like her close bonds with many young Greek teachers and her fascination with Greece!
Wow!! I can't believe this is how she died! I'm actually a little taken aback!! I didn't know too much about her story. Thank you so much for the videos!! I just came across your channel and I absolutely love it!!! ☺️☺️♥️
For some reason, I’ve always thought of Sisi as a nuisance to everyone. I read that her maid had to hide some kind of sticky tape in her pocket where she hid the hairs which came out of Sisi’s brush as the maid dressed her hair. Because if the empress saw hairs in the brush, the poor maid was severely reprimanded. Sisi was certainly a tad unhinged in my opinion and I’ve never really liked her.
Sisi was thrusted into a life she wasn't prepared for. But surprisingly, she handled her role as empress quite well since she championed the people's welfare rather than the small-minded aristocrats.
And I am looking like a twin sister or a clone of Her Majesty Empress Elisabeth Amalie Eugenie from Austria Queen of Hungary and I share all the health issues and other things like that with her Majesty together - simply from head to toe and also her size of her shoes of size 41 in the German measurements of shoes! And many many people who have seen me and her on my comparison photographies side by side together are so stunned and fascinated by the whole similarities of us together and my girlfriend who is a perfect portraitist and can paint portraits like a Rank-Xerox copy machine or a 3d-cgi printer said that I am looking so similar that it is a bit spooky and mind-boggling to see! Even the officers at the passport office told me that I am looking realy like a twin sister or a clone of her Majesty! That's it! Period, end of story!
There are many bios of Sisi on the web, but I believe this the finest one yet. Thank you for all your hard work.
Thank you Felina that means a lot 😊

There is much talk about Elisabeth when I visited both Vienna and Budapest. For a while a tried to discover her later life, so thank you.

She suffered from mental health
Sissi, was a fascinating lady . If it weren't for her mother in law's meddling . Her life would have been easier .
Our Cavachon is named Sisi, after our visit to Hungry more than 8 years ago. What an amazingly complex woman.
That would be Hungary
Excelente
Thanks for posting such complex woman
Parabéns !!!!

This is a good video.
So, where are the memoirs of Italian anarchist and why were they confiscated?
I hate how Netflix betrayed her as if she was a slut.

♥️
❤ European 🇪🇺 History!❤
Her father was the Duke in Bavaria not (of Bavaria).
Excuse me, explain why the marriage was consummated "three days later" after the marriage.
I'm more interested in knowing why this is public knowledge at all! Like, did they really register the time of consummation?
💔💔💔💔💔💔
Sissy gave what she could, I guess all mothers do that.
More to say College Projecy pr an Essay.
Sisi? Personne ne l'appelle comme cela c'est Sissi
Wait a second, what happened to her son Rodolph? She had Sofie first, then the son Rodolph, and then Giesel! Not the other way around.

All of us have danced with death, but no one like Elisabeth!
