Fan Speed Controlling With Transistor

  • Computer cooling fans can be a problem for all of us. With a simple transistor, we can adjust the speed of our fan cheaply and easily. Mosfet can be used instead of transistor for more powerful fans.
    A list of materials:
    Fan
    Bc237 transistor
    50k potentiometer
    1k resistor
    Jumper
    Mini breadboard

    You designed the circuit one way and wired it differently.
    I've tested both and the designed one is better, since it increases RPM turning the multimeter clockwise. The way you wired, turning clockwise decreases the fan rotations making it counterintuitive since its the opposite of how 99.99% of knobs are designed.
