    my tip, if you save coins. be sure to roll them yourself and do not use coin star to cash them in some banks will give you free tubes and you can get a set of plastic coin counting tubes for a couple of bucks ... it's a bit of a hassle but worth the savings over a coin machine at your local store

    • @Curiouscalifornians
      @Curiouscalifornians  7 лет назад +1

      I 100% agree with you Jeff!! I never take mine to Coinstar because I have to give up a percentage. Luckily our local credit union has a machine, although I took mine in the other day and jammed it up....so I'll have to go back! hee hee!

      CuriousCalifornians well then my second tip for you double check the coins it's rejecting often times the coins it is rejecting will be pure silver and they are the wrong weight the machine doesn't like them in in which case sell them on Craigslist where you can sell them for spot silver weight and get $$$ for your quarter

    • @Curiouscalifornians
      @Curiouscalifornians  7 лет назад

      Yeah, I never used to drink coffee which saved me a lot of money. Now Ben and I have it sometimes, but it all adds up so much and I know people who have it multiple times a day or every day before work. :)

      It helps me a lot to write all the costs into spreadsheet month by month into categories like food, appartment, car, luxury, other and then I have graphs that show me from month to month my expenses. Yes, I'm nerdy like this :)

      haha!! Nice!!! That's awesome! I just started an excel budget sheet last month! My friend is a financial advisor and helped me plan a few ways to save money. Think I'll do a few more money saving videos! I LOVE saving money/finding deals haha!

      I did a blog post about it a while ago, too. If my parents told me one thing, it was how to be efficient with money. Actually I had to borrow money only twice in my life (more than $100) and I'm really proud of that. I also try to live by no-debt mentality. If you can't afford to lose it, you can't afford to own it :)

    • @Curiouscalifornians
      @Curiouscalifornians  7 лет назад

      Totally agree with the no debt mentality. If you can't afford it, don't get it until you save up all or most to pay it off. :)

    Since we are pinching pennies, use CardBear for everything you buy. You can get 10% off at Target... 15% off starbucks, etc. after a year.. you'll easily save $1000s+
