    secret number seven, remember the little people, that anonymous hotel employee you passed in the hall, it costs you nothing to return his greeting. when you want something like towels, pillows etc, guess whose going to be bringing it to you? and remember he has his own work to do which your request is taking him away from so when you ask for something, try to get all your needs in one go instead of being that guest who has them running back and forth 5-6 times

    Great advice. There is definitely a technique to getting stuff...you cant just DEMAND it.

    • @Curiouscalifornians

      Thank you! Yeah, it's crazy how some people would be so mean, demanding and complain just to get stuff and you just have to be nice and understanding.

    I'm a Hilton guy and always get upgrades when staying in either a Hilton Hotel or a Doubletree By Hilton hotel...never Hampton Inns By Hilton and I've had one upgrade in a Hilton Garden Inn. I've been a Hilton Gold member since February 2012. I once stayed at a Amsterdam Schiphol airport hotel (non Hilton) and on my flight from Doha with Qatar that I was flying business class in I decided to steal all the free mini boxed posh chocolate as i had a plan and the plan was when I checked in to my Schiphol hotel i thought I'd be really nice and give the front staff some of my stolen chocolate...I handed it out like I was Jesus feeding the 5,000...My plan came to nothing though as I received a normal room on a low floor. What ever happened to the old saying.."To give is to receive"?😔🙁😣

      LOL! Aw man! Yeah, whenever people would tip me at the front desk or were SUPER nice and genuine I would help them out usually with an upgrade if I could. Or at least a cheaper upgrade. If I got chocolates I would have! Great story! Now I want chocolate. lol

      Marriott is a far superior chain compared with Hilton.
      Nearly every one of their brands beats the comparable Hilton brand and always costs less in both dollars and points.

    Did you enjoy your time in New Zealand?

    • @Curiouscalifornians
      @Curiouscalifornians  8 лет назад

      Hey guys! Lovely to meet ya! Yes we enjoyed NZ so much! It was an adventure of a lifetime! Lived in Queenstown and Coromandel. The sweetest part about my hotel job was I got to do free activities (bungy jumping etc) so I could sell them to our guests! Where are you guys from?

      CuriousCalifornians we are from ny. is bungy jumping scary?

    • @Curiouscalifornians
      @Curiouscalifornians  8 лет назад

      Nice, I've been to NY only once but would love to go back! Bungy jumping is a bit scary at first, but I like the thrill. I like adrenaline sports like that, so I guess it depends on the person. :)

    When are the low seasons?

    • @joserosales5634
      @joserosales5634 5 лет назад

      Jackie Gilbert Hi Jackie,
      I think it depends on a couple things. First where are you traveling too & when?
      If you travel to a location where its known for its summer, spring, or any other season then you would expect those to be high seasons. General rule of thumb for me is Summer and Winter ❄️.
      Haven’t tried none of these tips, but will try it out in a couple weeks as I head to NYC for my 21st birthday.

      Usually Fall and Spring (whenever school is not out)
