The video is informative but in my opinion the 3rd option shouldn't be tried, Just recently I met a guy at the VFS centre here for whom the visa was denied mainly because of this reason, sometimes the embassy do check the flight reservation number and in his case it seem they did the same. Just like your friend this guy also travelled previously to europe editing an old ticket and using it for visa application purpose, but his bad luck, this time embassy did a check and he was caught. Now in future he will not be able to get schenzen visa because it gets recorded as black mark in their system. Best option is to hold the ticket and use it for application purpose

Your travel dates are very close. This year all embassy taking longer than usual in issuing visa. It may arrive within 10 days or may take 20 days. If it's urgent you may do 1 thing, during appointment in vfs, select priority application and ask if they can send passport to embassy next day. This may help
Why not book refundable ticket instead? That way you lock the price which would increase with time. Some traveler on RUclips said he books with websites or airlines who’ve refund policy incase one gets sick or visa gets refused. You can make a how to video on this. Will be useful for viewers.
I haven't come across any airlines which gives full refund of the ticket. They mostly allow free change of ticket for a fee. Can you please share such airlines.

But option 1 will not work now because embassy is receiving files only after 5/6 days and by then the 72 hours period is lapsed. This what the BLS guy told me. Option 3 - Never man. You have a good travel history, + financial docs are most important. Only your cover letter was v confusing regarding 2nd visit to Cyprus which is not even Schengen area. But even then they "should" have given you a regular 1 month visa. Just bad luck!

According to embassy official statement, they don’t want people to book actual flight ticket before getting a visa. They want a ticket reference as per travel itinerary and this method has worked for other travellers in the past. How do you show your flight details for visa ?
