one of these 2 bailiffs __ Matthew Heighway, 40, a former bodyguard, was said to have used unlawful violence to force entry _ An officer was heard telling him: "You can't go in without a warrant" to which the bailiff replied "I beg to differ - I'm making entry." __ TV show "Can't Pay? We'll Take It Away!" was arrested after he was accused of acting "like a burglar" whilst collecting a £10,000 debt at a country manor house. ] what they do is basically door to door collection agents, they would get shot if it was in the u.s.

@@edgarfleming9308 These guys are High Court enforcement officers, that is, they are officers of the Court. Not sure what the equivalent term would be in the US, but they are very different to ordinary commercial collection agents. They are executing a writ of control (aka a writ of fieri facias) issued by the Court. They can force entry into commercial premises, and they can force entry to a residence if there are goods under control there. They actually have fairly wide (although not unlimited) power to seize goods. High Court enforcement officers are only dealing with writs issued by the Court; not with common personal or commercial debts. And you're right, fortunately the UK does not have America's insane gun culture. The UK has around 0.02 gun deaths per 100,000 population, while the US has around 12.2 gun deaths per 100,000. In fairness to the US, it's not the worst in the world - the rate of gun deaths is higher in Venezuela.

Yes, and some retards even think that's so professional. Real low IQ short term thinking. The reality is that every time you let people get away with things like that, the law loses some of it's stature, and somewhere down the road it will have none. That's when the local pimp / pusher rules the street you live in, and just takes your kids 'out for the night'... and it's hell exactly for the manginas who think being so loose is so cool.

I sign a paper for my brother as he couldn't stay in his apt as his wife left and his disability payment would pay the rent but his rental agreement said he had to have two times the rent it he would be kicked out. He couldn't stay with me as I live upstairs and he was in a wheelchair. Long story short his wife came to stay for a week after my poor brother died and agreed with the mgr to pay for the week she was there. Got $ from all his tools and two vehicles and skipped town after the funeral. They came after me as she told them she wasn't going to pay the week she was there. Ugh. I got collected and they came after me. Only thing that saved my butt is my bankruptcy so they apologized and backed off so I didn't have to pay $263.00. the sister in law got the nerve to ask to stay with me. I told her never call again and blocked her number. Disgusting ppl.

Or as we say in Germany "Den Bürgen sollst du würgen" = "You should chocke out the guarantor"
There is no advantage for involving a guarantor when you get into debt, it just enxtends the bad luck to more people if the debter get's insolvent. Only the banks profit from guarantors. It's a big scam. And helps no one.

@James Price they say they only get like 20-30% of the estimated value at the auctions. (I really want to find these auctions. It seems like you can get really cheap stuff) so they make sure to take more than enough to cover the debt so they don't have to come back. 🤷‍♂️
I'm not sure about the US law on these things, so I can't speak to that, but... that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.
The UK law makes perfect sense. If the law was the other way around, (meaning the agents had to prove who owns what) then debtors could just claim everything doesn't belong to them. "This car and that TV... and... that snowmobile, they all belong to my mom!" Of course, everyone would just claim they don't own anything to avoid paying. THEY put themselves in this situation so now the responsibility of proving who owns what falls on them. Thats their fault.

@@Qaor If you search Bristol Car Auctions, Police Auctions or East Anglia Car auctions you will find these cars turn up there.
Not all the cars will be seized examples mind, obviously people also just decide to auction their cars sometimes, the way to tell is usually (if the auction doesn't state they are) that they will be missing basically all the information, not just the service history but also things like the V5c, which will be a bit of an admin pain and cost you about £50 more on top to get new docs from the DVLA.
Can be a great bargain because sometimes you get a tasty low mileage motor which had FSH for less than 50% of the true value, but sometimes you buy something that's shagged and barely running, didn't have any work done on it ever etc. It's all about how confident you are in looking at a car, run the engine, and putting your money where your mouth is because at these auctions they don't let you take it for a test drive because there are usually about 5-10 people interested in each car and they've got 50-100 to sell per day.

I don't know where you live, but here in Europe it's called a credit card because the card has *available* credit. If you hand over any form of card as payment, the cashier will put it on *debit* unless you explicitly say you want it on *credit.* So I see no evidence here that he used credit to pay just because he said credit card.
