It's imperative for fans to keep aimlessly believing so that these idiots have a job. Steve's on point. This teams going nowhere. But his reactions keep us going for entertainment. That's all they are is entertainment. Keep entertaining!
Every fanbase should revolt if either Bowman or Quenneville gets considered for jobs on their teams. The NHL should listen to the fans here and the facts.
I really appreciate you guys making sure to hit the Blackhawks piece before ending the show. When that Jenner and Block report was released the episode you guys did over it was the first episode I listened to beginning to end(was an off on listener and would pick and choose the segments) and I haven’t missed one since. You guys have done a great job making sure to bring up how much the impact that team’s actions of inaction reach and to see you guys continue to emphasize the importance of telling every detail of this story is admirable. It’s not a fun topic but it is a hockey topic and one that needs addressing. I appreciate the show for that

The second that Bowman to Edmonton rumour garnered mainstream attention, all of Oilers Twitter began tagging the Oilers and Jeff Jackson personally, and putting out an Oilers Entertainment Group exec's email, to share a common message of "WE DON'T WANT BOWMAN". And lemme tell ya, it's hard to unite us Oilers Twitter pagans on anything- I've never seen such a unanimous position from our fanbase, never mind a possible hire being so roundly criticized.

Idk how u could possibly be confused why Robertson wants out. U said it yourself he scored 15G barely playing. He's always the one being sent down. He can be an every day NHLer who scores 20+G & Toronto isn't letting him have that opportunity.
the team is missing a top 6 forward, they have a new coach, and he has no leverage. Its baffling that he would request a trade and not sign a one year deal to get paid next year if hes so so good. He played like 56 games, and was in the playoff lineup and did nothing.

@@abdouldmml are you daft? You sign the deal because the team isnt interested in selling low and want to give him a shot. They literally have an open top 6 spot open. Its up to Robertson to impress. If he does well and still wants out he is way more tradable next year.

Thank you for properly covering the NHL reinstating Bowman and Quenneville. I’ve been really disappointed, and frankly a little disturbed, with the nonchalant attitude I’ve seen from other large sports media commentators.
When they were talking about ECHL graduates to the NHL I was screaming "MASON MARCHMENT" at my screen lol.

It's hard to understand TB if you don't follow them. Sergachev did not develop defensively, so McDonagh was needed. Hedman has always been more valuable than Stamkos (as great as he was) and always took less money.
The level of consistency these lads operate at is unheard of. Lifelong fan. Keep it up lads!
Really have to give hats to Adam, his take on rotating to defense and giving up goals scored opened my eyes to other team possibilities
The Leafs have 6 Monday night games exclusively on Amazon Prime in Canada. That is the most out of all the Canadian teams.

The Amazon aspect makes sense because Toronto is the biggest market in the NHL.
The thing I don't get about the Leafs captaincy thing is how everyone is talking about how Matthews is the obvious future captain. I've always thought it was clearly Morgan Rielly, even before JT was named.
I would listen to an hour a day of Steve going on about the leafs. Listening to someone who cares so much about the leafs like myself brings me so much joy
Adam... correction. The team played better in the playoffs without Mathews. They had their best two games in my opinion.

on the Nick Robertson trade talk, the Montreal Canadiens might end up being a half decent trade partner. They have a ton of prospects and draft capital, they've been looking to sign a goal scorer to help the offense this coming season but have struck out on Marchessault and Tarasenko. Obviously Nick Robertson isn't that caliber of player but he would definitely get PP2 opportunities, he might get some 2nd line time on a line probably centered by either Kirby Dach or Alex Newhook, and if not, he plays on the 3rd with Dvorak and Anderson or something along those lines idk how they set up that 3rd line. Could potentially work.
Quennville into a microphone demonstrated he isn’t remorseful.
If the Leafs don't make a core four trade this offseason, Steve will be insufferable the entire regular season🤣

The confidence with which Adam says "It's Morgan Geekie" matches how wrong he is. Love you Adam, it's impossible to remember all these things, but maybe dial back the confidence if you won't double check things and are wrong so often.

For anyone that wants to compare Stolarz to Woll watch the Nov 28th game highlights. Both goalies started and made 30+ saves with a 2-1 win in shootouts and 6 blocked shots from Matthews made by Stolarz. The guys should go over this games highlights during the summer to get a decent comparison of the 2
Sidenote in Steve's LFR for the game he made a significant portion of the video about making a case for keeping Mitch regardless of not producing because he played like his job depended on it.. Oh the irony

I wasn’t aware that 22 year old players who can put up 20 goals in a full season (that’s the output he did last year on per game basis in limited ice time) are only worth a fourth now. You must be new to NHL. A pro GM here in the comment section. 🤡

For whatever reason it seems like the Lightning have been trying to get rid of Stamkos since he got there. They almost trade him in 09, the whole free agency thing in 2016 where Friedman has said multiple people had hoped he would walk, he was asked to waive his no move in 2020. Idk what more ws going on there but clearly this is something that was not new to this off season or even this gm. Will make for an interesting 30 for 30 in 15 years for sure.
For the amount of money he wanted from them, they could afford both him and Guentzel.
@kurtwpg that's exactly it though, I don't think the choice was ever Stamkos vs Guentzel or Stamkos and Sergachev vs. Guentzel and McDonagh or Stamkos vs Hedman or whatever people are pretending it was. The choice was Stamkos vs. No Stamkos, and Julien chose No Stamkos and it seems like he chose it a while ago. The cap didn't matter, the other trades didn't matter, he was never going to give him a real offer.

I really don't get why you guys are making excuses for the lightning GM treating Stamkos like sh!t. It would have taken 10 minutes of his time to call him up and just tell him it's time to move on. That's literally all it would have taken. "It's not his job to think about feelings" is a complete cop out.

The leafs signings were so head scratching it’s crazy. They actually got worse over the past 3 days and still have a cap and Marner issue. What are they doing?
Losing Bertuzzi and upgrading D didn’t make them “worse”. The Leafs were #2 in goals last year. Their offense is fine. Bertuzzi did not play great for the Leafs. Woop-de-doo they lost his 20 goals. They didn’t want to pay $5 million for a 0.5 points per game player. For perspective that’s less value per point than the Marner contract. Smart move. Robertson can do 20 goals for $1 million. Knies will be better this year. There is a lot to like about the moves Toronto made including an impressive deal for a very solid goaltender. They fixed their main weaknesses for the playoffs. The #2 offensive team has trouble scoring because they face elite goaltending and elite defensive teams in the playoffs every year. Some fans and media are too dense to factor this in to why the team struggles to score in post season. Their division has some of the best playoff teams.
To remove the captaincy from a player is to be stripped of it by definition
Glad you guys are still keeping tabs on the Kyle Beech story etc. but you also made it your last story of the pod which says a lot about where people's thoughts are about this. It definitely deserves more attention. Just sayin. Love what you guys do, so please don't take it as a criticism, but something to think about.

Babcock was wrong about a lot of things, but one thing I always thought he was right about was Matthews, Marner and Nylander all need to drive their own lines.
If the playoffs showed me anything its that you start there. But each line needs the elite player on it and surrounded by big tough forechecking puck movers. They needs guys like Domi (although small) and knies who will crash the net and make chaos to open lanes and give space to the elite goal scorers. Pickup rebounds, drive nets etc while giving smaller guys like marner the breathing room to rip a shot without focusing on getting killed from behind by a Gudas or a Marchand
Habs fan here. Would trading Kampf for a pick and then trading that pick to the habs for Dvorak work? I think it's a little over the cap and I'm trying to solve it but not seeing a great way to do that unless I'm missing something
Cheveldayoff should have been fired by the Jets for not only what happened in Chicago, but also for trying to sign convicted wife-beater Slava Voynov. By the way, the guy that recommended him for GM in Winnipeg, Craig Heisinger, was a business partner with Graham James. Heisinger never denounced James for his crimes.

There are specialists that use inject-able gels as knee replacements right now. they outperform regular joints by 3x and can be done using a couple hundred dollars of serum, a syringe and an ultrasound.

Some studies on it have come out already and some were coming out in the next few years. It outperforms human cartilage in near-term use and the long-term studies are still coming out but have been so far positive
ALSO when it comes to the Chicago situation they say these men have ‘shown remorse’ and all that. But they haven’t. Quenville STILL hasn’t owned up to what he did and continues to deny that he remembers any of it. How is that remorse? He’s continuing to deny he did anything wrong.
Trouba being from Michigan, it makes sense if they were to throw a hypothetical at him it would be Detroit.
Unfortunately I don't feel the leafs are in need of a 3 c, I think they are in need of a 2c.
I like Tavares and I want him to stay, but I feel like he needs to either move down to 3c or move over to wing and just take faceoffs.
They may not be able to allow Tavares to move to wing they won't be able to find a true 2c until Tavares signs a lower contract and the cap goes up next year.
Auston Matthews is not mature enough to be a captain. Matthews and Marner act too juvenile to have a letter on the Leafs
If they have 1 million in cap space with that lineup of 12F/7D then my guess is they move Holmberg to 4C and try to ship out Kampf to replace him with a more viable third line player at about 3 million. If they can get a centre great but if it's they find the right winger they'll go with it.

You know who had a great shot, not particularly great in his defensive end, not a polished skater? Brett Hull. I don''t know if Nick Robertson is the next Brett Hull but it would be advantageous to do what Adam said and also tell him that his talent and potential is untapped and he could be unbelievable if he not just put in more into every aspect of his game but just was patient with the process and trusted that this Leafs team can bring out the best in him.
TBH I dont think Trouba's being unreasonable here. I would ask the Rangers "look u dont want me here but I have an under 1 year old and my wife is doing her residency right now. Can I sign a one year deal at 4 mil then u can trade me or whatever?"
