My Great Grandfather was also here on the the fateful day, fortunately he survived with a gunshot to his leg. Ironically though, he was a soldier in the british indian army's 2/14 Punjab Regiment. He fought in Beirut, lebanon, Jerusalem, Iraq and the Mesopotamian desert against the ottoman empire and won a commendation letter from his CO in beirut when his unit captued ottoman army and local militia prisoners . He left the army after the de mobilisation in 1918. He was one of those 1.4 million indians(73,000 killed) who fought for the empire in WW1 and were promised independence after the war but ended up in another cycle of repression.

Also back in the history, Churchill chose to let people die of hunger for the war that has no relation to subcontinent.

Hindu India was traumatized for thousand years by invaders. Latest being the British. Then 1/3 of their Sacred Land was handed to the Islamic Ummah by the British and Ghandi.
@Rodney Roberts Jallianwala Bagh massacre took place on 13 April 1919. General Dyer blocked the only entrance to Jallianwala Bagh and ordered his troops to open fire on the unarmed civilians.
@Rodney Roberts There was only one main gate of the garden which was blocked by General Dyer with a machine gun. Yes, there were other narrow passages as well. The most important thing is that bullets were fired, 379 people were killed, thousands were injured, The bullets kept going till they ran out. People had gathered with their families for Vaishakhi (festival) and peaceful protest. The army cannot go to the garden and fire 1600 bullets without the order of the Governor (O'Dwyer). Why don't you read BBC for once? Doubts related to Dyer will be removed.
My grandfather used to tell me about an old mentally ill man in his village who was extremely violent and had always been alone. After his death the people searched his hut and found out he used to be a soldier in British raj, and in his dairy had confessed to having killed more than 100s of innocent people across India under orders. With each and every account mentioned in detail. He was forced to commit war crimes in the name of her majesty to the point he lost his sanity and was tormented by the horrors he committed till the end of his life.
@Rodney Roberts Amartya Sen the noble prize winning indian economist and historian Was literally awarded that noble prize for his book Poverty and Famines. In which he wrote about how Bengal famine of 1943 was not due to natural cause and was orchestrated famine by the British which killed 3 million Indians. Stop spreading lies amartya sen never disagreed with Usta Patnaik sayin Britishers looted 45 trillion and on top of that killed 1.8 billion Indians throughout their rule. Britishers left india with nothing but a broken nation in shambles struggling with the oppressive institutions which still plague India to this day.
@Rodney Roberts And so?? Even if Indians attacked or broke any law, they did so because they wanted their freedom. We were not the ones conquering the world and draining the wealth out of the foreign lands to feed our stomachs. The soldiers who were killed in the riots deserved to die because they were controlling the lives of millions while the people massacred in India didn't deserve it because they wanted their freedom. That's the TRUTH and everything else anyone (especially a brit) says is a lie that they are building to hide the monster their ancestors were and since they lack sympathy and humanity they couldn't accept the absolute TRUTH. No Indian asked the Europeans to rule India, but we wanted to be freed from them and that's why they were wrong.
Uff so many British sympathizers here.... I don't care which British is from which generation. We forgive but never forget 😢, it is just 0.1% of it. The British colonial era in India was marked by several tragic events and atrocities, including: 1. Jallianwala Bagh Massacre (1919): British troops killed hundreds of unarmed Indians in Amritsar, Punjab. 2. Hindu-Muslim Massacres (1947): Religious violence during the Partition of India resulted in widespread killings and displacement. 3. Bengal Famine (1943): British policies led to a devastating famine that killed an estimated 3-5 million people in Bengal. 4. Amritsar Massacre (1919): British troops killed protesters demanding independence. 5. Delhi Massacre (1857): British troops killed Indians during the Indian Rebellion of 1857. 6. Mangal Pandey's hanging (1857): British executed the Indian soldier who led the rebellion against British rule. 7. Suppression of the Indian Rebellion of 1857: British brutally crushed the uprising, executing and imprisoning many Indians. 8. Destruction of Indian industries: British policies destroyed India's textile, steel, and other industries to promote their own interests. 9. Economic exploitation: British drained India's resources, leading to poverty and famines. 10. Cultural destruction: British erased Indian cultural heritage, suppressing local traditions and languages. Etc etc These events have left deep scars on India's history and psyche, and serve as a reminder of the need for vigilance in protecting human rights and dignity.

Bro the ritual you are talking about was only performed in single region called bengal at that time not all over India. One more thing, Britishers who were ruling over that area didn't even cared about such ritual at all but they were forced to ban it because of a single man name Raja Ram Mohan Roy who was resident of Bengal protested for years to force Britishers to ban this ritual. So read real history not british made history.
The fact that theres still a tons of people who still think that what british did to india was good, and they were the reason for the development of india and stuffs.......breaks my heart. More people need to understand this.....nows the high time.
Britain scooped all the riches from India and stuffed their countries treasure. And all the development people say was done by British, was because British shamelessly thought to be in our country forever and it was done for their own convenience. So please understand, these developments doesn't justify many such massacres they performed in our country.
The first issue- correct way to see is our India was looted by two countries - The British Empire and Nadir Shah who came from Persia/Iran (around 1729 - He took the peacock throne from New Delhi and we still have no idea what happened to it). All this looted stuff left India. The 2nd point is - Both the British and the Muslims rulers came from outside India. So they ruled over a population that was not their own to begin with. Hence, any sympathy of bringing development or modern lifestyle is just not acceptable. And it is this baggage that Muslims still talk about today- (that we built, Red Fort, Taj Mahal, which was indeed funded by Indian themselves in Taxes collection at that time and we ruled over India for about 800 years). So any sympathy towards both this rule should not seen as bringing development.
@@tss4629 i would really like to give you a complete lecture of why the muslim invaders were different from the Brits, but that would just be inefficient and probably you wont understand any of it. Also i am not talking about the shits like aurangzeb, but there where also good like babur, who believed in equality of religion, ans also made mandirs etc. but that was different in case of brits rule. Also i don't think i need to tell you that how many Muslims have given there life for there motherland during the independence, and even after the independence during the wars, and there are still thousands of Muslims in the army ready to die for us and there motherland without a second thought. So please dont come here with a foul statement with no backup amd with a mentality of a a hundred year old guy. @@rickgolder6818 I have only made my point how only 2-countries looted India before and the wealth, riches were taken out of India. So your argument is total bogus that you are trying to show here.
Bro i dont think it was indian who pointed rifels at our own people ...as long as I know it was gorkha regiment and British soldiers who started firing direct ordered by Dyer
LOL Congressi colonial mindset is really weak in history. It was not soldiers from Punjab. Punjab was already a different kingdom. India was united under Hindu Kings like Chandargupta Maurya empire. After mugal came. Indians hated indians especially punjabis hated everyone in the south who were so weak to shake hands and surrender easily. Punjab was the last state to fall and the first state to keep revolting. Bhagat Singh type of people came from Punjab while south Indians were busy being proud of white skin and coffee and defaming Sanskrit. I am Punjabi and all the blame is on the British. You cannot speak on behalf of the brave people of Punjab. You are weak. Now Punjab might be suffering but we still have the best living standard best army generals and captains best education and sports and the best food and language influence in all the Bollywood songs or our own industry. You, people, blame Indians lol. No wonder Punjabi are racist to other states now it all makes sense.
There are many more such incidents of massacre by British in India, unfortunately the Brits were never taught about or made aware of this back in Britain. Thank you for sharing this!
I mean , I never understood why the Britishers are not guilty and ashamed of their British identity . And then I realised oh ! They are not taught history in the first place , because of this reason .
But we are taught about this in schools. Look up our GCSE curriculum. People aren't ashamed because it's retarded to be ashamed about things you didn't have a hand in. How many Muslims are ashamed over the spread of Islam by the sword? How many Mongolians are ashamed of Genghis Khan's genocides? The only people ever expected to carry such shame are white Europeans… once you notice that, it's hard to play along (no matter how morally wrong some of the British Empire's actions were).

Actually, the British are not ashamed; they are in denial. The younger generation in the UK is not taught about British colonization in their schools. Also, there is yet to be an apology offered by the parliament, the PM or by the monarchy.
I am so sick of apologists who run around with a super hero complex and a remorse for things a different generation of people did. It’s not going to make the future better…. And I literally have nothing to prove to anybody. I just want to live my life and take care of my responsibilities in peace without any of these historical reminders that humanity SUCKS!!!!

@@archanapillai9765 Yeah that's a pure sucker mentality
This is 2023 so fucking stop acting like a child over this Hindu-Muslim shit, and start workings for your country, if you wish to see it prosper. Or would you prefer that india gets devided and get fucked up, just because you guys couldnt control your 90s mindset. The choice is yours
@@rickgolder6818 I have only made my point how only 2-countries looted India before and the wealth, riches were taken out of India.
And the 2nd point I made is related to sympathy towards British and Muslim rulers, and those liberals who think in the name of Development, Modern lifestyle, they forget that they were ones who where oppressed class. So your argument is total bogus that you are trying to show here.
As Indians, we are equally ashamed as it was Indians who pointed rifles at our own people.
The indians who worked in british government gets education there and later spread that among other indians
Exactly.... i was about to write this comment ... its sad truth
Yes, and because we never realised who we are. Its time we unite💪🏻
The colonial mindset is a curse.
There are many more such incidents of massacre by British in India, unfortunately the Brits were never taught about or made aware of this back in Britain. Thank you for sharing this!
Yes for example mangadh six years before this incident in 17 nov, 1913 more then 1500 bhil were killed
Bruh what???
By that logic most countries should be ashamed of thier identity.
Stop putting white guilt on current generation
Pls watch this movie to know what exactly happened, Sardar Udham 2020 🎬

A study conducted by IIT Hyderabad in 2019 compared brain size measurements of Indian, Caucasian and Chinese volunteers. The results showed that on average, the Indian brains were slightly smaller than those of their Caucasian or Chinese counterparts.
In addition to this research effort, a separate study completed at IIT in 2009 also found that there is indeed a correlation between brain size and high IQ level among Indians: individuals with larger brains scored significantly better on cognitive tests than their lower-scoring peers with comparatively smaller brains overall.

It’s like…. “Hey look, historical baggage that gave us all reputations we don’t like.” Who gives a damn. We have it in America and it’s the WORST thing that has ever happened to this country. People holding onto historical baggage like it all happened yesterday and nobody ever learned from it all. I’m not sorry for the past, I refuse to show remorse, I refuse to have a savior complex and an apologist complex acting like I owe all these people royal treatment. It’s not going to fix the past…. It’s not going to make the future better…. And I literally have nothing to prove to anybody. I just want to live my life and take care of my responsibilities in peace without any of these historical reminders that humanity SUCKS!!!! I already know humanity sucks and I’m sick of being treated like trash over it…. Get over it. SCREW HISTORY!!!!! That’s why I was a science geek who loved fiction…. Save all the baggage and judgment and atonement for judgment day and get over it….
"Holding onto historical baggage like it all happened yesterday and nobody ever learned from it all." - Exactly our point. People quickly forget and repeat their behaviour. Turning a blind eye and quickly forgetting is not the answer. It's called ignorance, by definition. IT IS GOING TO MAKE TH FUTURE BETTER! If you want t bury your head in the sand, then do it. You sound like someone who needs a hug. Thank you for watching : )
