The double paradiddle RLRLRR LRLRLL is one of my favorite rudiments! It is super versatile and can be used in 6/8 grooves, as a halftime shuffle, as a triplet groove and as a fill! In this video I'm demonstrating a few of the different ways it can be used.
The songs I'm referring to is available on the playlist "Worship & the prophetic on drums course" on Spotify:

Nicely executed. I never thought about using double paradiddle in this way before.🥁
That’s very encouraging to hear! Yeah, it is such a cool and versatile rudiment. Good luck with your drumming 😊

I haven’t played drums in over 40 years and when I did I was self taught. I’d like to pickup a new set and have some fun again and your videos will be a great help, thank you!
Thanks man! I appreciate it😊 I hope you’ll buy yourself a kit and start playing again. Good luck!

Hi, thank you for your videos, I quite like them and I want to learn what you do, but I find it a bit difficult without the sheetmusic... can you have the beats transcribed for us slower beginners to understand what you hit? No need to re-do the videos but maybe upload a link to it in the video description
Hi Marko, I’m really happy to hear that you like my videos😊 I have tried to figure out an easy way for me to add the sheet music, but I haven’t yet found a good way to do it, or to share the link. I will have to edit them quite a lot from the ones I made for my online course, but one thing I could try is to just write it out directly in the video description maybe. I’m on tour now, but I will see what I can do when I get back. In the meantime I guess the best way is just to pause the video in the places where the description is on the screen at least. I really hope it will work out to do it that way until I can get it fixed after my tour😅 Good luck with your drumming!

I enjoyed watching this video. As a drummer(has been, 72 now), I think it would be helpful if you can find a way to put the notes on the video so we have a way to take it slow and learn the pattern. I have seen that on other drum videos. The double paradiddle is simple, but can get a bit complicated when going around the set. Just a thought.
Thanks! That it is a really good tip! I actually have PDF’s on everything, but I have no idea how to attach them to the videos… But I will try to figure out a way to do it😊
Nice…. I learned a few things
Thanks! I’m glad you could benefit from it😊 Good luck with your drumming!

Cool.

love ur drumming what kind of electronic drums r u using in this video? what is the setting for the kit? ru using an amplifier and if so what kind is the kit standard or customized? thx for sharing
Thanks for asking! The kit is a Roland TD-11 (it is not a very good kit, but it works). The setting I used in this video is probably the Tour (number 19 on that kit). It’s been a while since I recorded this so I don’t remember exactly 😅 I don’t use an amplifier but the kit connected to a sound craft mixer (you don’t need to have a mixer but the microphone and percussion pads go through the mixer)and the mixer is again connected to a Steinberg sound card. The sound card is then connected to my iPad and the sound goes directly into this from the sound card. It works really well! You can connect the kit directly to the sound card as well and not use a mixer. Good luck with your drumming😊
Swedes are awesome!!!
Yes they are🎉 But I’m Norwegian and we are even more awesome 😂
@@trommedamathat's what I thought, you had that Swedish accent. Which turns out to be Norwegian.

Very inspiring. You also sound like my wife. She's Danish ,from jyland
Thanks man, I’m glad you like it! Cool, she is Danish, I guess the Norwegian accent is pretty similar😊
Can you make a video on how to get really good at the drums without having to practice the drums, please?
Well, unfortunately there are no shortcuts when it comes to becoming a good drummer. It takes heaps of practice! It is a difficult instrument. However, you can learn the basics and get a lot of mileage out of playing a few basic grooves and fills. I recommend searching for “drumming for beginners” or basic drum grooves for beginners” on RUclips. You will find heaps of stuff! Good luck to you😊
Hahaha…..all real instruments take hard work, dedication and practice!
@@trommedama I was just kidding. I've been playing off and on for a 4 months. I knew it would be difficult but I underestimated it. For the most part I'm having fun. I'm definitely improving. Somedays I just feel overwhelmed and wonder if I really have the time to dedicate to this. Granted I'm just doing it for fun so it's not like I'm trying to be in a band or anything like that.
@@lobbyrobbyHa ha, got you 😂 I can totally relate to that feeling. I felt that way for many years… I still do sometimes, actually. I hope you will keep it up and work on it, and the most important thing is to have fun. Maybe one day you will find yourself playing in a band 🎉One never knows… 😊 Good luck with your drumming!
Hi! I see you also have a Yamaha DX Multi-12 Pad. Can you please do an in-depth video about it & also a live performance video of it? Many thanks! Jim from Glasgow, Scotland. I also play Roland drums in a church worship group. ✝️🏴

I remember one of your videos from about ten years ago, you played a bunch of different time signatures in sequence was very cool

Bravo for this way of working the rudiments, they are too often approached in an austere manner, and then it is always better to play from the start with other musicians or with musical supports, even if only loops. Ears open to others, which allows you to escape from the drum score and get out of your bubble. As for holding the sticks or body position, when we see Bill Stewart play again when he was young, I doubt he gave it much importance... ruclips.net/video/-J2NTAppU-I/видео.html&ab_channel=LampVHS
Thanks for the support, and for the video! I love the way Bill is moving behind the kit 😊

Ah yes, the eternal paradiddle and double paradiddle. I was doing this in the 90's... I love the way people are repeating this over and over again like this is something new that no one ever already shown or talked about... An half time shuffle and the double paradiddle in 6/8 or 12/8 are not the same. An half time shuffle require a steady hi-hats just like Rosanna beat from Toto, or Fool in the Rain from Led Zeppelin. In fact, a double paradiddle in triplets is the most natural way of playing it. The main problem with the double paradiddle beat here is the dynamic on the ride. It's well done on the snare, while the ride cymbal just sound always the same with the exact same velocity at every hit, making the dynamics Absent, only present on the left hand. I hit the Bell part for the Accent and softer ghost notes on the Ride part... Also, I'm not a fan of fake smile and forcing yourself to smile. The other thing that is bothering me is how you seem to be a tall woman, but the clothing decision isn't helping you, or even the drum position in the room. Your head is close to the ceiling, it does look uncomfortable, I mean your poor neck is going to be thankful with a straight position, instead of leaning forward sometimes, to not hit your head on the 45 degrees ceiling. Since you are obviously tall and got long arms with a stick, why the drums is so close to you. It really doesn't help you if you are ignoring your body type and your general proportion. I know you are too close because when you are hitting the rubber with the ride cymbal sound, your shoulder is already behind your back and it's not the closest thing to hit. The floor tom is closer to you and that shoulder is going to be too far away behind your back. I'm pretty sure that if you put your arm straight forward without a stick, your fingers will go beyond those toms, which mean you are too close because you are using sticks. Also, a double kick and double pedal is not the same term. I can have a single pedal and doing double kick on it. Twin pedal, or double pedal, but saying ''double kick''? You could say double bass drum, but a double kick is 2 hits with a single pedal...
Well, you definetely like to criticize 😅
Rude, insulting, mean spirited. You use guise of correction as a means of attacking. You should apologize. And this rant should be removed.
Visited your page. I must say if you been doing drumming since the 90, you have a relatively limited skills and talent in drumming/music. Your level is at best average. That is probably why you use so much time on a comment like this. This comment must be some kind of "Inferiority complex"
I could make a long tekst on what you really would need to work on, but i am not gonna do that..
